QUESTION 1, Would you buy an AV-8B Harrier Module A = Yes, dear God yes B = No C = Depends how good the F/A-18C is QUESTION 2, How long do you honestly believe before the Harrier will be introduced?(No disrespects to RAZBAAM you guys are great!) A = By the end of 2016 B = 12 Months C = 18 Months QUESTION 3, Are you more excited for the AT-27 Tucano that is supposed to be released by the end of this year, or waiting some more time for the AV-8B? A = AT-27 B = AV-8B C = Who said the AT-27 would be released soon! Question 4, Do you see the AV-8B having a place in DCS World? A = Yes, it will add some very interesting gameplay features to DCS, fighters from FARPS? Yes please B = It is a niche aircraft in real life and will be in DCS C = It is unique but it does nothing the FA-18C won't do, in fact it won't do anything nearly as good as the F/A-18C Question 5, Do you really hope RAZBAAM will soon turn a large amount of its research and development into the highly complex AV-8B? A = Yes, RAZBAAM needs to finish up the AT-27 and start full work on the AV-8B ASAP! B = No, the AV-8B is still highly classified (as are all the 4th gen fighters) and will take a very long time to make, don't get your hopes up for it!

While it is a B+ model, this does appear to have the Litening on the centre line

There were a couple accounts in Harrier Boys by Bob Marston about LGB tests in combat over enemy positions before it was actually confirmed that the range finder could not guide the weapon seeker itself, this was after LGBs were employed guided by ground designation IIRC to see if Harriers could operate without the need for ground designation, evidently it failed and they reverted the ground designation shortly before the war ended. The Gr.3 example was just intended to be; 1) interesting and 2) to highlight the inability of most laser rangefinding devices to designate targets for laser guided weapons. But yes, you are right that the Hawker Siddley Harriers differ greatly from the Harrier II series, not just in designation technology
-
During the Falklands War in 1982 RAF Harrier Gr.3s equipped with a laser spot tracker in the nose tested LGBs against Argentine positions with one aircraft in trail designating the target and found that the lasers were incompatible with seeker heads on LGBs. The AV-8B is able to carry a TGP (Litening I believe) so LGBs will be employable

Thanks for the help guys, its just a shame that an unarmed huey and a bug with Skynet was technically my most successful mission in terms of kills

AV-8B NA or AT-27?

Wonder if anyone can help, I just got banned from the server I think for apparently team killing ground units, but I was flying the slick medevac Huey at the time, is there anyway to dispute the ban as I really liked the server Many thanks

Just looked up the BK.90 - anything nicknamed Mjölnir is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Before I was pretty interested in the Viggen, now I really quite excited edit: especially if we can do this...

The closest we can get at the minute is the Kuznetsov with its ski jump, but HMS Ark Royal or a Wasp Class LHD would be perfect

[ame] [/ame] Nice bit from James May on the Harrier T.12

This is quite literally my dream, I saw my very first Gr.5 when I was young at an airshow and was hooked from then on. If I squint, this does look like a Gr.5...

what about this beauty? Didn't realize the aggressor program kept so up to date with the Russians

That appears to be an Argentine A-4, refueling from a KC-130, armed with a load of dumb bombs. That just screams Falklands War '82?

Those are Tornados... TONKA CONFIRMED

Oh a Jag would be marvellous

Hi all, Is it my imagination of after the most recent (1.5.3) update the pitch has become very vague - slow to respond - and there is an uncommanded pitch up immediately after takeoff? Also getting the nose off the ground on takeoff seems quite a challenge? Many thanks
