Which axis/buttons do you use for pitch trim?
Pandacat replied to Pandacat's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
My issue with this solution is that I have 3 hats on my hotas, but only 1 is detected. The secondary hat and throttle hat don't show up in the game. -
The graphics all messed in my rear view mirror. I don't use the mirror. Anyway to toggle it off?

I used the thumb rotary on my throttle for the pitch trim. An old habit inherited from Il-2. But DCS p-51 pitch trim seems way more sensitive on the rotary. Just wonder which axis/bottons do you use for the trim?

Is there a list of active servers that host DCS WWII stuff
Pandacat replied to Pandacat's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Well, are there decent number of players anywhere nowadays? -
Naval aircraft modules would be fantastic
Pandacat replied to Pandacat's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I would imagine Iwo Jima map is whole lot easier to make than Normandy one. It'll be a tiny island surrounded by ocean. I mean how hard is it to map water after all? -

I saw even the status of BF109 is still WIP. What's up with that? What work still to be done with 109? -

What we can do is pick a time period or a single battle? For example, battle of midway or Mariana campaign or B-29 bombing campaign over Japan etc. Then we don't have deal with so many different aircraft variants. For example, if you pick battle of midway, then the only Zero available is the a6m21. For USN, you only have wildcat. -
I have an x52pro. Any tips on setting up this rig?

What about that jg26 server? Is that a private server? Damn so few players out there. This sim is too technical that many video noobies can't handle it. That's why the likes such as warthunder and world of warships are more popular. -
I am always a big fan of WWII carrier ops. With great sims like DCS and IL BOS, the only time I need go back to decades old sim like IL-2 1946 is when I am craving for some battles in pacific. Just wonder if naval stuff is an area of interest for DCS' future development? I know Leatherneck is developing a great mod currently. :smilewink:

What does Saturation do? I am trying to figure out a good curve for my hotas, too. Right now, my plane is wobbly in flight. I guess the stick is too sensitive at low input range.

Anything US navy I will buy. I love WWII carrier ops, especially torpedo bombers. I hope one day we can relive battle of midway in DCS.

A little offtopic but nontheless related comment. Would it be possible in the future that we can set our own convergence? I find standard 300ish meters is too excessive far. I remember back in IL2 days, my 260-250 convergence had much more potency at close range.

Nice.

Never did a poll on this website. Would anyone be kind enought to enlighten me? Thanks.

You got shot down by his wingman, didn't you? =) Good kill though.

I didn't say we should abondan WWII. Like Winter said, Korea and WWII are not mutual exclusive. They can be developed side by side and Korea is a much smaller and easier project to do and finish. I just think Pacific theater is a potentially more profit project than Russian front: 1. In terms of creating maps, most Pacific theater is fought over vast ocean and islands. Those are much easier to model than cities, roads, forests and numerous other landscape features in Russian front 2. IL2 bos is already a very good sim. DCS Russian front would be nothing more than a direct head to head competition with it. You would be spending loads of money to fight for same pool of fans. I wouldn't have a second thought to own both DCS pacific and il 2 bos. But for DCS Russian front and Il2 Bos? I'll probablly think about it and pick one of the 2. 3. Sea battles and carrier ops will be more interesting than same old land battles

Wonder if mustang with 75'' mp can be a match to 109k4?
-
I have seen many discussions on what comes next after DCS Euro 44. There were talks on eastern front, pacific theatre and medi theatre. Could someone throw a poll out there to see where most of the votes would land?
-
Awesome flying. I always enjoy watching your videos. Every time I watch them, I pick up something new from them. Some MP stuff will be great. Btw, from your MP experience, were you able to get many kills against k4s in mustang?

What are the differences between the BF109, Dora, Pony?
Pandacat replied to stray cat's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Has anyone done a zoom test in DCS? I remember from reading Johnson's biography. He said the main advantage for p-47 is in its dive and zoom climb. He was able to manage beat spit9 in a mock dogfight. I suspect if DCS faithfully model everything and the physics correctly, this should be reflected somehow. I believe p-51 should also have an excellent zoom performance. -
Engine RPM - Switch or Slider?
Pandacat replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
109 has RPM control? I thought all late German birds have commandogerat. -
Just a bit off topic here. When do you need to switch tanks from left to right? (when one is half full?) I just find this manual tank switch annoying. Couldn't they make it automatic or drain both tanks at the same time?
