Typically a Farp will not have an atc. Usually you will only have refuelers and ordinance at a Farp. I worked at a Farp during desert storm and we would usually have 6 or 7 guys max. A Farp is usually something that is setup very quickly and is temporary. A forward airfield would have atc etc

Well if DCS wants to throw in any fighter from any era and still say its a realistic scenario why not throw in DCS Tie Fighter.That would be awesome:music_whistling:

I too think that the P-51 is out of place,they should create DCS time frames for aircraft. For instance DCS Nam,DCS WW2,DCS Modern,and group aircraft and servers accordingly. If I'm on a mission in my F-15 and a P-51 patrol flies by realism just went out the window.

I did not put it here because I thought Coretex was doing the C Hornet,I just thought it was an interesting video.It's rare that you see a pilot going into the ins and outs of HOTAS and mfcd's like that.Does ED have an F-18 forum ?I will post there next time.

In regards to what a crew chief does or does not know actually depends on the branch of service and the aircraft.I was in the Marines and a crew chief knew quite a bit about his aircraft on the rotary side and most of them got stick time. In the corps at the time "crew chief" wasnt a job you could enlist for,you started out in avionics,or as an engine mech etc and when you got enough experience in your field you took some tests went to classes yada yada and you got your wings.All the crew chiefs I knew had stick time,even the Cobra guys.I did 6 months in the mediterranean on a carrier and on the last day of flying they gave some of us cobra rides. On the fixed wing side they are called plane captains and I knew guys who went up in EA-6B and F-18's to do avionics checks. So to make a long story short you dont spend that much time around an aircraft and not pick a pilots brains if its something you are interested in.

I think most people are upset because of the fact that we have been dreaming of another DCS quality modern jet since A-10C came out. We got the 30 minute YouTube video about the future of DCS World and the 3rd Party anouncement. They built all this hype about getting DCS level fighters such as the F-15/F-18 etc,and now its well....you'll get mid range stuff and we'll DCSify it way down the road. We were lead to believe that all this awesome stuff was right around the bend when in reality it is years away. I will buy the F-15 module under protest tho lol BTW whats with releasing all these prehistoric aircraft lately?

I'd pay 50 for a N or Y model Huey,dont know about an H model tho.

I'm gonna wait on a fast mover also,or I'll buy Huey when it drops to 9.99:)

Hi all,I am a complete Noob at modding etc and I cant seem to get the mod to work.When you say Make sure to edit DCS World/config/graphics and change PrecompiledEffects mode to "USE_PRECOMPILED_EFFECTS_FOR_UNCHANGED_FILES" am I deleted the other line,removing the // from the line,I know absolutely nothing about editing in notepad.Any help is appreciated
