Running landings should only be performed in an emergency for example during an auto rotation landing. You can't always do a running landing due to terrain or limitations of the LZ and obstacles plus you can't do a running landing onto the deck of a cruiser only a carrier which again is not safe and not advised the captain will have your balls cut off.

Just a heads up keep in mind that a spring has 2 open ends to it so there is no need to go cutting joysticks in half to get the spring off. Think of the spring to be more like an extended version of a key ring, hook the open end around the shaft and just twist it until it comes off, reverse the order to put it back on.

You can do this in the options.

Nice find PeterP i have been using your mod for this since you posted it up and using the same numbers as you i find it to be much more realistic now. You don't need all that console shaking you get enough feed back from the airframe shaking the console is to aggressive and very off putting. When i watch a replay of my landing now from in cockpit and compare it to a real life video its almost a perfect match.

I am sorry i miss understood what you meant seems everyone else didn't, but yes a stick extension would be easy. -
WH stick twist/offset with TARGET
jay43 replied to harsh47's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you mean the twist of the stick grip for yaw thats not possible as it does not have it. -
Check calibration in joy.cpl, if you haven't calibrated it do so. Also if you have a stick extension re-calibrating the base will result in a more stable axis and allow full use of the axis in DCS without the need for any saturation or curve to reduce the throw.

200mhz or higher

I never had to all good here.

Liking that Lizard i use trim quite often and it never even dawned on me to do it this way i am always forgetting about as i come into land well a bit less these days but occasionally i do nice tip.
-
No worries VanjaB i haven't flowen the MI8 much i find it to be like flying an oil tanker with rotor blades she is a heavy old barge and not as nimble on her toes as the Huey. Glad you got it sorted.
-
Tried to help ya go and read the manual for both aircraft it works different one is made by Russians no disrespect and the other is made by Americans no disrespect so there fore the trim will not work the same way. You are applying it wrong... I have almost 200 hours in the Huey now so i know how it works. I did read all your posts including the first and watched both tracks clearly you are applying it wrong.
-
Not a bug Vanjb i watched your tracks and closely watched the animation of the stick you need to let it re-centre that jump is happening because you are keeping the stick pushed in the direction of force trim once you have applied it. The only way i could replicate whats happening to you was by pushing forward on the stick then applying force trim and holding the stick in the position in which i applied it. If i do the above but allow the stick to re-centre there is no jump what so ever. What stick are you using and have you calibrated it in joy.cpl.
-
PeterP's solution works just adjust the time to centre to your liking up if you want more time or lower it if you want it instant.
-
I would've thought that would only happen if you had not saved them properly in the first place. But then DCS is a bit of a strange beast sometimes.
-
Reduce all sliders to 50% then adjust up to your liking from there.

Save profile and load it from the drop down box at the top of the GUI to the right. Failing that read the manual its very informative.

Co-Pilot Flexi Sight totally borked after 1.2.6u1
jay43 replied to Flagrum's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Evil has confirmed this is a bug they have some command issues, for some reason if you use the key bindings and say push the button assigned to move flexi left it will not stop tracking until its at full lock you can stop it by pushing the key assigned to move it right but then it just goes all the way to the right. Plus if you fire it becomes live until all ammo is depleted. -
Why gunner's gun and co-pilot's flexable doesnt rotate by view?
jay43 replied to csper's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I have just tested this Evil and should the sight continue to track in the direction of the button push after i have released the button, once the button is pushed thats it the sight just keeps moving in all directions with no way of stopping it. Is this a bug or is this how it should be... -

Thank you Evil pity it wasn't in the change log would've saved lots of posts. -
Hi John, I have the upmost respect for you, as you are the most politest person i have ever come across both in the forums we are members of and even TS. So i have to say it does pain me some what but then i calm down take a deep breath and oh well just have to wait but the more they try to fix stuff it just breaks something else. I understand they are a small company trying to please a lot of players which sounds like a mine field to me and releasing all these betas doesn't help matters. Take the A10c which is clearly not in beta any more but they are still having to fix things on that. If its cash flow they need then perhaps a better course of action would be a yearly membership fee/subscription to gain access to the online master server a bit like xbox and their member ship just to get online perhaps i am wrong as it may cause some people to leave. I don't know but i would gladly pay £100 per year for access to the server, i don't like the thought of someone not having enough to live on or enough in their pocket to buy a decent meal.

Yes sadly i just learned that Tom Clancy has passed away aged 66. RIP Tom you brought us some excellent books films and even games.
-
Me too Tommy sick of hearing it, do they just roll this stuff out without testing it first, seems every module is in beta even the A10c is still having issues after all this time. They fix something and something else breaks it just doesn't add up and how many more hoops do we have to jump through to get things working again i just can't get my head round it. Ok i know they are a small company but seriously what is going on.

Sounds good to me let the AI come to a hoover that should take the heat off you so you can go in with rockets. Let the AI go in first like lambs to the slaughter.
