  1. Was just going to post about the Georgian Hammer language issue. Happened to me too with the upgrade.
  2. lol Ive watched this video each time its been posted. Love it. Cant wait to get the F-14 and retire the F-18. Wish it was still flying.
  3. I have 2.0 open alpha in the original install spot on C drive, I originally had 1.5 stable there as well but moved it to my E drive a few weeks ago. They both have updated when needed since the move but once I start the download tomorrow (or whenever the next one is for me) will I have problems since I moved 1.5? Or since I never moved the 2.0 alpha should I be ok. That regedit stuff confuses me. Apologies for yet another question about the multiple drives since there are many already.
  4. Id like to do a big wall map of the areas we have to fly in, but I cant figure out how to print it off the way I want. I have no problem with taping them together, did anyone one print them off as a wall map and tape like I'm attempting to do? If so, which settings do you usually have to mess with to get it to print on several pages?
  5. lol the red flag briefings......great but yes, printer hog. But so worth the ink.
  6. Title asks it all. Ive done a few maps and my hotas setup to have handy when I cant keep myself on one aircraft for long enough to be second nature to me. How about everyone else.
  7. Thanks Grunf. I appreciate it.
  8. Thanks MBot. I have noticed that for whatever reason, it seems to work for me now. Now if I could only get better at engaging with the Aim-7. I have become too dependent on the 120 for all these years.
  9. I moved one version of DCS world 1.5 to my new E drive, while keeping DCS 2.0 on C drive as I am running low on space in C drive I thought this would work well. Then it hit me, the new update! Which one or both will it update? Sorry I have read threads about people moving their installs but most still have them in the same drive, I assume having them in different drives will make the download think some files aren't there once I start updating? Since I have over a TB of free space in the new E drive, would it be best to move 2.0 there as well, update when it comes, then move it back to the SSD C drive? Also I thought I read somewhere that once the update does happen, both versions will be the same? Is that with this coming update or one further down the road?
  10. fixed, can be deleted
  11. Hey guys cant seem to find the right fix for this but I moved my DCS 1.5 from one HDD to a new one, with 2.0 staying on old SSD. The DCS 2.0 is recording with tacview like normal but the moved 1.5 I cant find any recording of. I know the default saved ACMI is in my C/documents folder but since my new HDD doesn't have that folder, where would they save? Thanks for the help as always. p.s. it does show up at the bottom as a module for both versions of DCS
  12. Only trouble I'm having is landing after the first mission I get the black box asking if I want to continue campaign etc.. I click "y" and enter, it waits a moment, generates a new mission it says but after I click continue it says I won the campaign. I mean, I got one kill, but I don't think that made the Iraqi Air Force and Army surrender. :) What have I done wrong? PS I love the first mission and if the next missions are half as good I'm in for a treat once I get it working correctly. Great job!
  13. I'm sorry yes I have two sticks of 4gb. So as of right now I have 8gb ram. Sorry, brain wasn't clicking on all circuits there.
  14. So I will be upgrading ram, however, I would like to still utilize the two 8gb sticks I have. I know that mixing ram is a crap shoot to say the least, so what do I need to do to try and lessen the odds of non-matching ram? I have: 2 sticks of Ballistix Tactical Tracer DDR3-1866 (PC3-14400) Was thinking this here: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA98C5R71716 Only thing that worries me is my sticks I have now are (PC3-14400) where these at newegg are (PC3-14900) otherwise they are the same. what is the difference? The more I look online the more I am confused as I think it may be a typo on my product box with my current ram. From what I have read DDR means Double Data Rate. So DDR is 2x 1866 = 3732 . DDR2 is then 2x3732=7464 and that times 2 is then just over 14900. So how could I have 14400?
  15. Yeah I assumed the ram was where to start. My cpu fan is a coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus, also yes I am running on an SSD. I made the incredibly dumb mistake of checking vsync in the settings tab so that is why I was only getting up to 60fps. After doing nothing, unchecking the vsync and up to the 140ish mark. whoops :)
  16. At the moment I am getting fps in the 40-60 range, sometimes higher so this is by no means a cry for help, just a relatively curiosity question. Would overclocking my i7 4790K (and/or) my gtx 970 make any noticeable difference in anything I see? My Specs are below, I also have a coolermaster fan on my cpu so its not a stock fan if anyone is wondering. I know the bottleneck for my system is probably my 8 gb of RAM at the moment, will probably upgrade that to 16 soon, so just curious what I could, should, or want to do with overclocking. Just an fyi, Ive never done it before but by watching youtube videos I think I could do it slow and keep an eye on my temps and such.
  17. Thanks for this amazing campaign. Ive only completed 4 missions I believe but it has made me put off all other aircraft and am focusing solely on the F-86 at the moment. The story is great, so far pulling me into each mission and honestly its making me learn more about the Sabre than I ever would have with any other single mission or online play I could find. This campaign alone makes the Sabre fit into and even surpass some other aircraft in this simulator even though its lack of time period weapons and theaters. Thanks again for the campaign, it is a must have for anyone who bought the Sabre and hasn't flown it much yet. I don't own the Mig-15 but I am guessing it is just as good a campaign with that as well.
  18. So when I join a server I always check to see if easy radio is on etc. For one, whats the difference in the radio settings? Easy is what compared to hard? Also, on the ground, even when server has already preset the WWII birds radios to the correct frequencies etc, I ask the airfield to start up, taxi, take off and they always answer; once I'm in the air however, non of my key presses bring up any of the radio commands. What am I doing wrong once in the air? the "" key wont bring up any of the channel options and neither will my thrustmaster warthog button I have mapped to it.
  19. A little side note, when flying the 109 I seem to always lose speed so fast in a turn. I try to go light and slow movements with the stick but I suddenly go for 500 to less than 300 km/h. Always fighting the torque is frustrating, I assume that practice is the answer but how do you guys keep this thing so level and stable in videos in flight? I'm fighting the controls constantly. Might be an off topic post and maybe needs to be in the 109 forum but just a little heads up for anyone who would like to show me the ropes.
  20. Ok guys I have been teaching myself landing, take off, and some maneuvers in both the P-51D and BF-109K but I have ran into a wall. I need a squad or person who is willing to train me in air combat and just general piloting and spotting skills. I tried finding an online squadron to join but no one seems to be setting up a WWII aircraft squad and is usually just running jets. Which I do need to learn the F-15 and A-10 better but I'm more interested in the props at the moment. I live in the US central time zone, and can usually be online around 4 or 5 CST for about an hour or two. If anyone is interested in having a noob on their wing to shadow them I'd appreciate it. Lately Ive been on the Burning Skies server but going alone leaves to many of my sorties ending in someone on my tail before I see them.
  21. Hmm, pretty interested as I would love to have someone help me along with my flying skills (or lack of), I could most likely make most Sunday evenings so it might work. Just curious if any plans to do a WWII squadron or missions now that Normandy is out. I fly F-14, A-10C, F-86, BF-109, P-51 usually. And my favorites are the prop planes and early jets. If those are in the works eventually I would love to join. If they are off the radar totally then maybe something else would be better for me.
  22. Any thoughts of adding WWII type planes to the mix? Also how much time is required to be a member? I would love to join a squad but real life means I cant always commit perfect attendance. One week I could be free all Saturday and Saturday night, the next I will be away all weekend.
  23. Any squadrons out there for the new Normandy map looking for a P-51 pilot. I'm not skilled but I can take off and land (most times lol). USA central time zone, and have 3 kids and full time job so there are no garentees for days and time. But usually if I can get on, I'll be able to fly for a few hours at a time.
  24. After just getting to monkey around with my new Thrustmaster Warthog that came in today I can say that MOST of my flying and landing and general problems came from my old X-45 stick. Out of the box this new stick is 1000 times better than anything I could do to the X-45 through the years. Now its just a matter of stick time to learn where all the buttons are.
