The '3 Cameras.lua' file says: also you can use "displays" table to perfectly match you configuration . it is generated by DCS automatically. displays table is contains information about all currently attached displays for example my setup is : displays = { [1] = { x = 0, -- note : x == 0 and y == 0 is always mark primary windows display y = 0, width = 1920, height = 1200 }, [2] = { x = -1440, -- mark that secondary display is on left side of primary display y = 0, width = 1440, height = 900 }, ... for all displays } How and where do I use this to define my displays and viewports? I cannot find the table "generated by DCS automatically".

Thank you for the explanation.

I will get Normandy through my Kickstarter contribution but if my buddies wait until Normandy release will they be able to use existing bonuses to buy it? It could be cheaper than pre-purchase.

Gifting 2nd copy(Normandy) to server acct ??
klem replied to ThePutzer's topic in Payment and Activation
This is very sad. Players are funding additional PCs and running servers at their own cost, promoting the on-line community and thus DCS. Can't we have a dedicated server version where missions can only be hosted, not 'played', unable to install modules and a second map installation possible for those that have purchased one for their player account? -
This is a very good question. Many if us run part time servers for our friends on a separate PC. I have the free 1.5 Caucuses map on both but don't expect to have to buy Normandy for both. Or NTTR. Perhaps this ties in with a dedicated server version that does not allow the installation of Aircraft/Ground Vehicle etc Modules as suggested by NeilWillis ( repeat of the post in the livestream thread but I think this is more appropriate place)

Using this but terrain is pretty rough. Any easy way to find flat ground?

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
klem replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
If it has one you may need to use an alternate port, e.g. DVI. You would need one monitor with matching input. Which card do you have? You will be running about 6 megapixels and I would have thought a card old enough or low level enough not to have 3 ports available may not have the performance you need. -
Thanks uboats. If I add a new set to the zip file will I fail integrity check (or is there somewhere else I should put it).

Actually I wish ED would do something like this with forest as large single models that are collidable to reduce the fps hit. I know that means Tanks can't drive through them. An alternative would be to make the forests blocks and trees into objects that mission builders can place as individual objects.

Where can I find the An-26_1_AAF skin? I'd like to use it as the basis for another one. I've searched the DCS folder and even the saved games folder but no luck.

Wags, any chance of a screenshot of Tangmere?

Spitfire first take-off; first "landing" observations
klem replied to beagleRampant's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Crosswind? I'm finding the instant action takeoff in NTTR easier than in 1.5 where there's a crosswind. -
It is simply a reference to the amount of work that goes into a map and it's longevity/potential. I'm sure ED won't be taking notice of anything I say, they already know their marketing strategy.

Ground Crew holding the tail...
klem replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I believe it was a reference to the blackness of the black. Still, best left alone. -
As ever, you get what you pay for and you have to pay for what you get. Luckily it is a one-time purchase on which you will fly all those aircraft you have already bought and those you have yet to buy, probably for not much different cost than the Normandy map - although given it's long-term use I would happily play more than the usual $50 for the map. I'm sure I'll still be using it long after I have become bored with one or two of the several DCS aircraft I have bought.

I'd prefer a lap dancing blonde but they tried that in CoD. She was ugly! Anyway I don't have a sensory suit. -
Ground Crew holding the tail...
klem replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Full power on ground could pull the nose over if the tail wasn't held down. We could possibly have a key to nail down the tail if need be. How often would we use this novel development-team time-consuming design feature? About 1% ? Once even? Do we really need to model a body on it for the sake of a one-time historical mistake? I think there are much more important things to be doing -
Make a mission. Place a hut. Put your name on the door. :P

Thanks Gus, so it seems DCS will handle the separate GPUs, I suppose according to the Windows arrangement. I hope to find time next week to try this out. Another worry was that the GTX570 might not like the same drivers as GTX980. I will investigate and make sure they are both happy with the same drivers (570 is currently in my 'server' pc but I can use an old 480x for that.

I am running four screens, three in surround and one below for instruments. GPU is GTX980 o/c. FPS is mid twenties on ground, 30-50 in the air. I would like to improve my fps and add a fourth screen over the centre ones for a forward/up view. I have a spare GTX570 and would like to run the top and bottom monitors on that and the Surround screens on the GTX980. Does anyone know if this is possible with DCS? I can define left/centre/right/bottom/top monitors in the lua but I don't know if DCS will play with two cards in this way. Hoping someone can give ideas before I start pulling my monitor racking apart to get at the PC :helpsmilie:

Where did ED say they had changed the Spit FM? All they have done is make it a available in 2.05 NTTR;

He didn't say. It was a post-war conversation/debrief. -

It is possible that the Spit is a bit more twitchy than it should be but it can be done. True, you have to stay right on top of those swings but don't give up. Try the free flight to get a feel for her. Remember the TF-51 has a very wide undercarriage compared with the Spitfire and that makes it much easier to handle on the ground. Not sure what your zoom problems are but set it and leave it. Focus entirely on the takeoff. I was loving the F-5 while waIting for theSpitIX. Jets are so simple to fly compared with a tail-dragging prop job, especially on a narrow undercarriage. Jets are more about weapon systems than pure flying.
