  1. I'm not sure it has been fixed. Slow throttle increase to 100% and into reheat is ok. Faster throttle increase causes a pause a in rpm when it gets to 90% before dropping back to around 80/85% and then it recovers to 100%. Is this how the real engine behaves?
  2. Since the 1.5 update I've run into a strange problem in v 2.0. After left engine is started it triggers the "ATC: Request Takeoff" menu. F12/Exit menu still leaves Comms (# on UK kbd) at the Request Takeoff menu. I didn't have this problem last week. Any thoughts?
  3. Wags, do you really mean 'all the Normandy airfields' or just 'all the airfields we've created so far'? I'd hope to see many more.
  4. In 3-screen the side screens are views 90 to degrees left and 90 degrees to right. I use this arrangement with side screens pulled round to 40/45 degrees and being 27" screens they reach out to my forward view left/right limits. Although 90 degrees left/right views, they seem 'normal' when I look left and right because that falls roughly into the movement scaling of my TrackIR. So, if you have largish screens try that. I don't like the way the view stretches on the sidescreens when in 1-screen across all screens.
  5. True.
  6. The newsletter simply says they are prioritising the Spitfire and Normandy map ahead of 2.5 which won't be out until 2017. That doesn't exactly say the Spit and Normandy will be out this year. So let's not get our knickers in a twist over that.
  7. speculation ˌspɛkjʊˈleɪʃn/ noun noun: speculation; plural noun: speculations 1. the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence. "there has been widespread speculation that he plans to quit" synonyms:conjecture, theorizing, hypothesizing, supposition, guesswork; Moretalk; theory, hypothesis, thesis, postulation, guess, surmise, opinion, notion; prediction, forecast; informalguesstimate "his resignation fuelled speculation of an imminent cabinet reshuffle" To be pedantic... Speculation requires some basis but not necessarily evidence. The basis of many speculative posts here has become "what could we possibly be getting some time in the future?". The problem with this thread is not "speculation or not". The OP asked a specific question about the MiG25. All other aircraft speculations are therefore way off topic. But who cares? It passes the time.
  8. Refer to thread title.
  9. Got it! Thanks, for some reason I didn't see that link before.
  10. Should I be seeing my Kickstarter key yet?
  11. No.
  12. Hi Talisman, it was actually you and the rest of 56RAF I had in mind when I asked the question. I could see what might be coming and I know how keen we are to get online with Normandy which you won't be able to when it first comes out unless you install 2.0. So, sadly it looks as though you will have to wait for 2.5/2017 to be able to use Normandy. Multiple installations, i.e. 1.5 and 2.0, are easy enough to do, there's no magic, just download and install 2.0 but it's of no value without either NTTR or Normandy (eventually). It's just the disk space that might be a problem for some. I have 1.5 and 2.0 although my 'Sim' SSD is almost full as a result.
  13. Speak for yourself. ;) I know a few people looking forward to Normandy that don't want a second install.
  14. Which suggests that would-be Normandy users WILL have to have a second install (v 2.0), even minus NTTR, in order to be able to use Normandy. It has already been intimated that Normandy will be out before 2.5 which is still some way off.
  15. If Normandy comes out before 2.5 then it will have to be in 1.5 or all hell will break loose. Perhaps it will be made available in both 1.5 and 2.0? Or will it be beta'd in 1.5 openbeta, excluding early access for many that don't have room for a second or third installation?
  16. In fairness, tank kills were by rockets although not as high in number as folklore claims although broken tracks stopped them. However, the rockets and the cannons certainly tore up the other vehicles and often forced the army to abandon their vehicles/convoys which had pretty much the required effect as the softer troop and support vehicles were then wiped out.
  17. It was a MkIX that was used in making the film BoB. We hadn't seen "Back to the Future" .. .. ermmmm.... back then. Of course with a wormhole and a DeLorean anything can happen :)

    Wheel Brakes

Wrong or not, it is not the final release and presumably the devs will take these things on board and consider them carefully. Patience.
  19. Many thanks for that Diehard. Of all the things I knew about the Spitfire I didn't know it could reach Berlin. What a moment for John Blyth.
  20. Sorry to revive an old thread but I have the same question: can the in-campaign mission series be set back to an earlier stage? I died at the end of stage 2 when I got clearance to land and the ILS led me onto an occupied runway :( I know I can play a stage as a standalone mission if I copy it to 'My Missions' under Saved Games but because you can't see the Mods folder in 'Missions' you can't go direct to the iRF nstalled folder. I'd like to 'tidy up' my progress as I learn and re-run a stage. Can that be done?
  21. That's all very well Fenrir but current LOD modelling on all aircraft leaves a lot to be desired let alone new ground vehicles. The main concern though is performance and the abilitiy to tweak levels of detail are minimal and semi-global so no opportunity to reducce say ground vehivle detail alon.. Of course ground vehicles for low level work will be great but performance hit is a worry.

Well, the tyres are narrow to fit into the wings. They have a small footprint, they aren't broad racing slicks. The EE Lightning had a similar problem and despite a takeoff weight of 15-20 tons and brakes full on the tyres could not hold the runway on takeoff above 90% power, they would drag along the runway.
  24. Yes, that's true. It came later, after the finger 4 had been adopted. We (56) sometimes fly the fluid six, usually depending on numbers. We also fly a fluid 4 at times (take out numbers 5 & 6)

I assume you mean you deploy the chute immediately after you have touched down, not 'before you land'?
