  1. MLW+Enroute Burn=MTOW TOW-RWT=max fuel on board to land In the real world, we are given our weights on a load close out from an electronic weight and balance (EWBS). Our company mandates that we still figure our MTOW by hand and compare that with what was sent via ACARS. If no EWBS is available, then we have to do the WB by hand, so yes there is a lot of math involved. No magic button per say. If you're talking fighters, if the take of trim is set, the airplane will actually begin to rotate on its own and all the pilot has to do is add a little back pressure and when there is enough lift, it will fly off of the ground.

  3. I got popped a couple years ago. One hit caused 21 different burns into the airplane. Actually, we caused the discharge. In this picture of a temp probe, you can see the electrical path. This is the largest strike point.
  4. Not a canopy but you get the idea....
  5. You can. You need to find them early. Acquire the threat and a longer distance. For example, from a stand off range, use your target pod to find the threat. Then slew your MAVS to the target.
  6. Correction...external tanks can only transfer when the internal tanks start to deplete as I explained above and when the gear handle is up.
  7. F15 wing tanks transfer directly into the wings when the WOW switch is deenergized. IIRC, the center tank transfers up to the feed tanks. Tank 2 I believe.
  8. This accident was due to a manufacturers defect within the main longeron. I think about 12 other jets were found to have that same defect through NDI.
  9. Gents here's a range map that I made and have been messing around with. The default airplane is the A-10, but you can use what ever you want. Enjoy US Range.miz
  10. For me, when I start a group, I add each vehicle w/ in the same grouping. Where it says 1 of 1, I switch to 1 of 2 to add the next vehicle, 1 of 3 for the next, 1 of 4, and so on. It has to stay in the same grouping.
  11. I think that what Paul meant
  12. Some of the pylons on the A-10 have hydraulic actuators inside of it. It acts as a faring. Paul puts his hands on at least one or two, maybe 5 or 6 A-10's a day. I think he knows what can and cannot be removed.
  13. Remember the Strike has CFT's and those are usually removed only during phase inspections, ferry flight to/from depot, and when it leaks. Those CFT stations CANNOT be removed. Normal operations call for station 5 (centerline) to be removed from the airplane unless it's actually needed to carry something. Reason being is the Crew Chief cannot get access to remove or replace the JFS and/or CGB with the pylon installed.
  14. Well, maybe the change is a correction for an error. To me, if the strut is off center, with the taxi light that isn't in the center of the strut (the light itself is more toward the right side of the lower section of the strut below the damper), the light beam should be of center too. I bet the actual light beam is a lot wider than it is in the game.
  15. Paul...you're a Crew Chief. No one cares what we think.
  16. If you roll left and the propeller turns to the right, it's called torque. Also you may want to change your take off technique. Let the tail lift off of the ground first, gently apply back pressure, and let the airplane "fly off" the ground.
  17. These JDAM's/Mk-82's are too long. Plus, spinning fuses aren't used much for the 82/84 and not at all for the JDAM's. Training round, but proper fuse for GBU-38 Laser JDAM
  18. Kick tires huh...you ARE NOT any kind of mil pilot. We do a whole of a lot more than kick tire buddy. A Crew Chief can shut down the entire operation and tell you to get the f@&?k out of their airplane. I've done it twice and my squadron CC backed me up. If a jet plows a hole in the ground, the Crew Chief is guilty until proven innocent. If YOU were a true operator, you would know that the guy "kicking you tires" saves your life everytime you get in HIS airplane. If you don't know, get someone to show you.
  19. Oh, I'm military pilot....oh no  I'm sorry to step on your toes Mr Military pilot....what was I thinking :megalol:
  20. Ah, no you don't and yes Crew Chiefs are god like. Have you ever been one? Have you ever even touched a Hawg or seen one up close?
  21. Do you have something against Crew Chiefs?
  22. ......................................
  23. In the real airplane, those gauges also show LEFT/RIGHT internal wing. It depends on what has been selected by the fuel selector knob. So, for this game, those totals are for the LEFT/RIGHT wing not external. For FYI, each external tank is 600gal or about 3,600lbs. So total fuel for the F-15C/D is about 24,300lbs. The F-15E is 32,000lbs. Also, the only way an F-15C can jet it's weapons is if it jets the pylons.
