Seeing the sky screenshots, I am willing to upgrade my rig for EDGE. New clouds look as good as FSX REX or even better. :D

This is what I've found in A-10s Over Kosovo. I'll try today to test if LASTE in game requires stabilisation to compute accurate solution. "I tried not to jerk the stick or make any sudden inputs that might throw the LASTE solution and the CBU-87 canisters off target. Slowly, in seconds that were like minutes, the pipper approached the target. As it got closer, it seemed to ac- celerate. I resisted the urge to push forward on the stick to slow the pipper’s movement and make the weapons-release point easier to judge. If I had done that, I would have “bunted” the aircraft, fooled the computer, and caused the canisters to impact long of the target. Temporal distortion is normal dur- ing a diving delivery—it just seemed much more intense now that I was doing the job for real. I waited until the pipper was superimposed on the target, pressed the pickle button, and felt the two clunks as the two canisters left the jet and started their ballistic fall."

A bit more details regarding the tanker, I've just tested it with a few mates on the STP server. It connects only for a second and then gives a message "Refueling complet". I know you are checking this but I hope any detail may be helpful.

I'm taking a risk and updating now. It kicked me out of 3 servers in a row three days ago. I know ED want's to improve this but it is such a complex simulator that it is hard to blame them. Hopefully things will improve with EDGE. 1104 MB.

Operation Piercing Fury - MP Campaign
Lusik replied to Ranger79's topic in User Created Missions General
Great. I played the mission yesterday and I can't wait for another one. It was extremely immersive. -
As above, you are too low probably. I've never had may cannon damaged yet

About those wingtip vortices & engine smoke ...
Lusik replied to Echo38's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Vortices in each aircraft are different and depend on wing shape, etc. They are very prominent in F-15 but as you can see in this video they are are not visible in A-10 in spite of intensive manoeuvring at an air show. In order to make them appear fully realistically ED would have to implement dew point to the DCS weather system as condensation of vapour largely depends one this and humidity. As the the position, they may originate slightly below the wing as I have seen many times when landing in a 737. It depends on airflow over the wing but I haven't found anything with A-10 yet. These are the best effects I've ever seen in PC simulation. -
Although it it WIP it looks absolutely stunning. I've seen a lot of MiG-29s and this effect is exactly what it looks like in RL. I can't wait to see F-4s. :D

But a real airplane also sometimes pitches up, banks etc., even tough you may have trim indication setting. It depends on weight and balance, stores configuration, wind, etc. :) It was mentioned before that AIM-9 generate considerable drag so whenever I take off with them I counteract by applying slight pressure to the opposite side.

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Lusik replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Maybe I'm blind but I cannot see the file. With previous versions it was either under bold letters on the top of the page 1 or as an attachment at the bottom. -
Yesterday I noticed that the main breaks into pieces when crashing and not as a whole unit, which was not very realistic previously. I've been looking forward to this. :)

DCS 1.2.5 Released, Update 2 Released
Lusik replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Sounds are definitely better at least for some aircraft. All voices for Russian aircraft are in Russian now. :D -
I rarely use a FD mode including threat avoidance, unless I expect a prolonged maneuvering. Just a proper use of trim and you'll have KA-50 under control .

Just try to assign your default "Push-to-talk" button to a radio command button if you use realistic radio mode. It solved the problem in my case.

31 here, but I still remember playing Tomahawk on Atari 65 XE as if it was yesterday. ;)

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Lusik replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I would love to see Panavia Tornado. The last time it was simulated was in 'Tornado' by Digital Integration back in the '90s. -
Mine is over 700 MB. It probably depends on the number of modules you have installed.

Thanks!

I haven't found one, but maybe this will help with the engine. A few hints from a real Mustang pilot: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=32663 It's from A2A Forums but both Mustangs show very similar level of fidelity. :)

Hey, I used the opportunity of the summer sale and purchased Mustang today. While looking for additional manuals and charts to boost immersion I found this: http://pl.scribd.com/doc/34811808/North-American-P-51-Mustang-Pilot-Training-Manual. DCS Mustang manual is an edited version of it but I absolutely love this "cartoonish" US WW2 style. :)

Yes, my opinion is that we could make it in calm conditions. I don't have RL experience from flying choppers but I do have from flying airplanes. Comparing to sims real flying is easier because you have ever button "clickable" with your arm's reach. ;) Moreover, controls are more precise that any of joysticks or yokes that we use in sims but forces are different at the same time so you just have to get used to them. Flare before landing requires some considerable force in some airplanes. I found that flying in windy, gusty conditions is more difficult that in any of the sims I have flown. None simulated atmosphere properly and I have sim experience starting from Tomahawk on Atari 65XE. So flying Huey in windy conditions would be a challenge I reckon.

I'll try to make it. It will be 4:00 AM where I live.
