  1. Strange. It plays on the iPad but not on Mac/PC. I linked directly below. Maybe embedding is disabled for that site.
  2. Makes you feel as if you were flying in the back seat of F-15D. Flying alongside F-35s.
  3. It is related to engine nozzle operation. Notice that when you increase revs beyond certain point nozzle diameter is reduced and plane accelerates rapidly. If I remember correctly one of the F-16 prototypes crashed due to inadvertent closure of its engine nozzle. It simply wouldn't land even with idle thrust.
  4. The setting in the options menu applies to DCS aircraft only. In FC3 only HUD is affected.
  5. True. I experienced that a few times. :D
  6. We would need a real Mustang pilot tell us about his or her experiences. From my personal experience I know that most of the sims are underdone in regards to bouncing and DCS is the first one that makes the ground handling very similar to what I experienced in RL. Firstly FSX planes are glued to the ground the moment the touch the runway surface. I have't had much chance to test A2A birds, but from what I heard they behave much more realistically. In RL to doesn't take much to bounce. A few years ago, what still on my PPL course, sometimes I taught I flew a perfect approach to only be surprised by a big bounce on touchdown. Usually it was because I was going to fast. 10 kts was sometimes enough to make a difference. Moreover, those warbirds were mostly operated form grass fields and these are much more forgiving. Soft ground dissipates a lot of energy, even if you screw up your landing. ;) In DCS all the runways are paved. I watched a documentary once, about a RAF pilot who flew in Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. He was converting from Hurricane to Spitfire and I remember clearly that he mentioned landing on a paved runway as one of the most challenging in his carrier.
  7. I love those WW2 USAAF manuals and docs. :)
  8. AI attacks of fixed map targets finally? :) I have to test it tonight. :D
  9. It has just come to my mind... Have you tried to set the TGP to 'L' or 'B'? I think you cannot get the laser to fire unless you that is set. I haven't tried this and I won't have time today but give it a shot.
  10. Personally I look forward to Nevada terrain. Flying training missions in A-10 in Georgia has always seemed a bit awkward. ;)
  11. I use preventive flares and if a missile is launched at me then I pop lot of flares, maneuver and reduce thrust to decrease heat signature. I'm rarely hit doing so. The last time I was busted was at full power, full fuel, low & slow shortly after take off. ;) It seems that in DCS heat signature is the most prominent factor when it comes to IR seaking missiles.
  12. Imagine something like that on your room's wall. Excellent! :)
  13. All 3 channels except for altitude should always be enabled. You switch them off only in emergency. As Tone71 mentioned, the easiest way is to hold the trim button before any change in attitude and release it when you establish desired attitude.
  14. This video is hypnotizing.
  15. MiG-21 was announced for the 30th of March but little is known about F-15E I think.
  16. It works. Reducing thrust, popping flares and evasive maneuvering saves me 9 out of 10 times provided that I see the missile.
  17. Do you have a Steam version?
  18. Most of DCS missions do not include full packages. Particularly multiplayer missions tend to use flyable aircraft whereas in real life A-10 would be unlikely to operate on their own in SAM-saturated environment. All strike packages should include SEAD aircraft to begin with. Even for fairly low intensity conflicts and not open scale WW3. On the other hand we have several missions that simulate anti-insurgent operations so such cover is not necessary. MANPADs and SAM behaviour in general need improvement but as it was said before - triggers my do the job to some extent. Hopefully DCS will improve just like Rise of Flight does. When I compare initial release to what it can easily be said that these are two different games connected by the game engine and historical setting.

    Bombers

We would need entire Europe and a part of Asia to make realistic missions. ;) Or at least Turkey. I'd love to have this one. :D
  20. Ejections seats were used - inadvertently from what I've read. I don't want to draw any premature conclusions so let's wait for an official statement or report.
  21. Glitches also happen in real life. When reading A-10s Over Kosovo one of the pilots mentioned that British Harriers Gr.7s had a glitch in the weapons systems, which always dropped BLU-755s short of the target. I think there was also something mentioned about A-10s.
  22. Great video mate. :)
  23. If I understand point 7 correctly, it will be possible to extend map area with further updates or 3rd parties. :)
  24. Seeing the sky screenshots, I am willing to upgrade my rig for EDGE. New clouds look as good as FSX REX or even better. :D
  25. This is what I've found in A-10s Over Kosovo. I'll try today to test if LASTE in game requires stabilisation to compute accurate solution. "I tried not to jerk the stick or make any sudden inputs that might throw the LASTE solution and the CBU-87 canisters off target. Slowly, in seconds that were like minutes, the pipper approached the target. As it got closer, it seemed to ac- celerate. I resisted the urge to push forward on the stick to slow the pipper’s movement and make the weapons-release point easier to judge. If I had done that, I would have “bunted” the aircraft, fooled the computer, and caused the canisters to impact long of the target. Temporal distortion is normal dur- ing a diving delivery—it just seemed much more intense now that I was doing the job for real. I waited until the pipper was superimposed on the target, pressed the pickle button, and felt the two clunks as the two canisters left the jet and started their ballistic fall."
