Everyone's experience with the TTQ campaign will be different but I do challenge the assertion that you have to change the load-out to complete the missions. One example of that is watching Recon Stewart's videos on the series. As far as I can tell, he was successful in completing all the tasks without changing load-out. Did he have to use guns every once in a while? Yes. Does the series allow you to be sloppy on deployment of certain munitions on certain targets? No. I think that is part of the fun/challenge of their missions.

Native voices or English voices for campaigns ?
intx replied to S-GERAT's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I wished the poll choices weren't so binary. It seems there is plenty of support from the community to suggest that we would support a higher price for content if the designers allocated some extra money for voice actors to provide options. I am from the US and I agree with the part of the community that says that we would like to be able to hear the content in English (accented or not) but I do want to be respectful for our international community and their desire to hear content in native languages. As for the designers who produce free content and rely on volunteers to voice act, I would understand their choices to realize their vision even if it means that I may not download their mission(s). I would much prefer a wide variety of rich content. -
Nah, I would rather see a version of the chinook helicopter that has weapons and hauled cargo before the F-16.

F-35 vs A-10 weapons test http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/2015/08/27/weapons-testers-pit-f-35-against--10/71279564/ http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/air-space/support/2015/08/24/welsh-f-35-vs--10-testing--silly-exercise/32292147/ Mixed feeling about the test. The first article does indicate a mindset by some that the analysis would be objective enough to show the gaps or limitations of each air frame performing CAS. Ultimately I feel that some will take the findings and use it as additional ammunition in the anti-A-10 campaign...

Casual may not be the right word but I am looking for a squadron that is open to new members but doesn't have a rigid schedule of required nights to fly. I have joined up with excellent squadrons before but at this point in my life and career can't agree to show up every x day of the week. I love flying the a-10 and looking to add multiplayer to my experience. It isn't that I am not dedicated to flying the plane (reading the manual, practicing skills and such), it is just that I can't set aside a particular day/time of the week to flying. Am I looking at this wrong and should just stick to playing on a public server?

I think you are making great strides in getting this program going in versatility and usability. Keep up the great work. -

Yes, I do that in my two monitor setup. -
[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
intx replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I can't thank you enough for this mod. It greatly reduced the time it took me to learn how to startup the helicopter which now lets me focus on learning how to pilot the damn thing. -
Does the game model ice on the blades at any time/weather?

Mi-8 TM Warthog HOTAS profile, please
intx replied to marluk's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I know this thread is a bit old but the link above no longer works. Does anyone have a warthog profile they are willing to share? I decided to take a bit of a break from A10C and thought this helo would be a nice diversion. -

I think I have a similar issue. I downloaded the latest version from the website. Like an idiot, I ran the program without reading the user guide. Loaded a runway start mission. The app created 4 windows but I noticed that my MFCDs created by the app weren't displaying anything even though the in-cockpit ones were. I noticed that the app was telling me that I was running DCS in full screen mode and it would have problems. I stopped the mission and changed my monitor configuration to be "1 monitor", changed the resolution to the max resolution of my monitor (1280 x 1080) and turned off full screen mode. I restarted both apps and when I get into a mission, I don't see any displays even though the app says it is running. I have tried the reset settings and reloading both apps but it didn't seem to help. UPDATE: I was about to "repair" DCS when I decided to turn off all my other mods (using JSGME) and decided to restart DCS on a whim. All the UltraMFCD windows appeared again (CDU, RWR, MFCDs) when I was in a mission. I will try turning on each of the previously enabled mods to see which one interfered with UltraMFCD. Update #2: Re-enabling all the mods that I had previously enabled doesn't cause UltraMFCD screens to disappear. I don't know why the screens came back when I disabled the mods but there doesn't seem to be any correlation so I will dismiss this issue as a one-off. -
I live near Kansas City and would love to have my hog sport the markings from Whiteman. I was wondering if anyone had created a skin with all the markings or was in the process of creating one?
-
I noticed that there isn't a skin available for the A-10 with the makings of the fighter wing outof Whiteman AFB so I thought about taking a crack but I am having trouble finding good high rez pictures of the elements that mark it distinctly. It could be that I just don't know where to look but if any of you had pictures you could share, I would really appreciate.

Since there is a void when it comes to strike missions, you could spearhead the effort to foster a community of strike mission creators by creating a small example of it and release it. It could get the creative juices flowing inother like minded pilots.

I will state that I don't care for WWII planes (A10 is my first love) but I only see positive things out oft this development. DCS needs the influx of new players. With that influx and popularity gain, this could get more third party developers to join the gig or allow ED to increase staff and budgets.

I would take either one...

I loved it. Thanks for the chuckles.

A10C campaign: The Enemy Within
intx replied to baltic_dragon's topic in User Created Missions General
Seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to have this campaign be the first campaign I have played with the A-10C. I have enjoyed the banter between me and my wingman in the first mission. My questions/observations: 1. To trigger the end of mission one, are we suppose to shutdown on the apron next to the large planes (in front of the crowd) or park in any of the small square parking areas? When I landed, I shut down on the apron and never received a "end of mission" indicator. 2. Is the A-10C AI insane when it comes to landing? I watched the other squads of A-10Cs attempt to land and several times both planes would try to land at the same time and would trigger both of them aborting. Took forever to land all but two. The other two would have crashed if it wasn't for the fact that they dove straight into the ground and broke through world geometry (they were bugged from then on). I ended up the mission myself and it was counted as a success so I can move on. I can't wait to continue. -
Although I haven't mocked him yet, I don't see much reality from him. I have re-read his game description and he has written of features that I think: A) he doesn't realize that he won't be able to deliver on the feature set B) his terminology and/or expectations are not the same as some (most?) of the DCS users C) deceiving potential backers My main points of my assertions are: 1) in writing the pc/mac/linux version, he has asked for so little money that if he did it on his own, I would shutter on how long it would that to develop a stable, realistic flight simulator. I would have him define realistic. 2) he puts android and iOS into the mix but doesn't give them different expectations or feature set. I do write codefor a living (last 18 years), he may be a wizard at coding but he can't out code the limits of a platform and device. I don't see how he would create "realistic" flight sim. All the physics, networking, interface, controllers, etc. would bog down most android devices. I just have a hard time believing he can deliver. That is why I wouldn't back him.

Thank you Mr. Burns for the laugh.

Quick question for people who have it and play A10C: 1. Does it have enough hats, switches, buttons , etc. to fulfil all the warthog's hotas functionality without resorting to using modifiers? 2. I hear that it doesn't have a two stage trigger, has that affected your ability to use the gun? I figure that you can program it to do both enable PAC and shoot but wonder if the ability to enable PAC for variable amount of time before engaging gun was something to consider? Edit: I admit that I was lazy and didn't read all 56 pages in this topic. After I took the time to read them all , I found a post that showed me a picture of one users profile. I really appreciate that picture because it showed me both answers and I was pleased with the results. I could live with the idea of two buttons to represent the gun trigger.

[Videos for beginners] How to use the Missioneditor
intx replied to VTJS17_Fire's topic in Mission Editor
I seconded that request, VJS161_Fire. A search on YouTube nets me very few results for the English viewers. Your videos show up on top and you cover topics that I am interested in. -
Very nice. Looking at your pictures and pictures of other's cockpits keeps egging me to dream about making my own. Now if I could get buy-in from my wife.
