  1. Im happy as long as ED are fixing something! I'm sure the KA50 bugs are minor compared to some of the others... Progress is progress, lets not forget that. Even better, we're getting it for free! Keep up the good work guys.
  2. Hey come on guys, the black shark aint that bad. Improving other modules improves things for everyone. Can't believe you're complaining about a free update!
  3. Has this feature been implemented yet? Seems silly when IRL the collective brake would be held down for all collective adjustments.
  4. Yeah, I think it will happen. If the consumer version is as good as it looks like it's going to be, it will be a game changer for sure. Every sim (driving, infantry, flight) will quickly follow suit and integrate support I would imagine. Bit worried about what this is going to do to Naturalpoint and TrackIR though. Saying that, they still have their professional motion tracking equipment and I think they overcharge hugely for TrackIR so I don't feel like I owe them anything.
  5. Anyone know how large the Nevada terrain is/was?
  6. Oculus rift support I know this has come up before and Wags has even said it looks interesting. Just throwing it out there again as it seems to be picking up momentum in other games that are in development. I know there are some issues (can't see keyboard while wearing a headset, stereoscopic 3D doesn't work in dcs yet) but I think this is the next natural evolution from TrackIR and the increased immersion would be reason enough to support the consumer version when it is released. With a decent Hotas, fully clickable cockpit (maybe operated using some kind of hand tracking), higher resolution display and 6dof head tracking, I think dcs would be the perfect showcase for this kind of technology. Discuss!
  7. As said before: F-22 - No, classified. F-16 - Hell to the yeah.
  8. Learn to fly the mustang! Now that aircraft is a handful... Will be great having the L-39 and BAE Hawk though. They'll make a good stepping stone to real fast jets.
  9. Wilco is short for 'will comply' and cntco is for 'can not comply'. You'll see these pop up on the TAD when you receive a new tasking.
  10. Yep... That's exactly how this is simulated in DCS. Along with the eventual lack of consciousness. The A-10 cabin is indeed pressurised. On the right of the cockpit is the environmental system panel with the cabin air pressure gauge and switch to set between normal, dump and ram air pressure. There are also a main air supply and bleed air switches which affect the environment control system (I'm not exactly sure how as this is poorly explained in the manual).
  11. Really can't wait for the F/A-18. The AFM's for the SU27 and F-15 will be a nice stepping stone though and great for practising BFM. Just thinking about where this sim could be in a couple of years makes me seriously excited.
  12. I would imagine so...
  13. I'd also really appreciate a recording of this. 2am is a bit on the late side for me!
  14. Could you please elaborate on this? I am not sure what bomb aspect ratio is or AR wings.
  15. As far as I know the A-10A never actually got the advanced flight model. Still scripted stall and landing behaviour. You can feel the difference when you fly them both. Basically DCS A-10C is about as real as you can get without stealing a real A-10. On the other hand I could teach my mum to fly the FC3 A-10A in about an hour.
  16. I gave this a go but came to the conclusion that I need a bigger chair or a smaller arse! :D
  17. My finger would hurt at first just from having to squeeze the trigger so damn hard, but after a while it loosened up a bit and I guess I got used to it. The stick does cause me some wrist pain after flying for a while but I think that's because I have it desk mounted and it's too high for me. I'm thinking of making a bracket for my chair and mounting it to the side and fairly low, as the base of the stick is quite high. Probably do the same with the throttle on the left. If you want to fly with a centre stick, there's a DIY mod out there for offsetting the stick grip to the right to provide a more natural position if you'd rather go down that route. Hopefully DCS will decide to support the Oculus Rift at some point in the future, then I can mod a HMD and headset into a flight helmet and really enter the Matrix! :pilotfly:
  18. Keep the updates rolling in! I'm happy to see these small, regular fixes. Keep em coming!
  19. After receiving mine I was a LITTLE concerned about the build quality of some of the throttle switches, but I have to say it hasn't missed a beat. Put over a hundred hours on the stick now and it's smooth and responsive. In my opinion you can't beat having the right tool for the job and if you enjoy flying the warthog, this is the stick to beat. The feeling of metal in your hands and the sheer weight of the thing and resistance of the buttons and trigger make it feel like it was stolen from a real aircraft. The only down side is the lack of a twist rudder, but this is after all a no compromise replica and you should really be flying with pedals . Throw in TrackIR and you're looking at hell of a lot of money, but you won't find a better setup for the A-10C. I also find the split throttles perfect for the P-51 and Black Shark. In conclusion, expensive but worth it.
  20. Hope this problem gets sorted before affordable, high quality HMD's hit the market over the next couple of years. This could really make for a compelling sim/VR experience without having to build your own cockpit and install a home projector setup. Maybe it will be fixed with EDGE?
  21. +1 from me. This would be a great feature.
  22. Any word on if EDGE will include DX11 and multi core support?
  23. :poster_offtopic:
  24. Fingers crossed we'll see Nevada before the end of the year. I think that was the roadmap in one of the updates... or was that last year? :banned:
  25. I don't appreciate your condescending attitude. I am aware that ED is a business like any other and while you may be a respected member of the community, that doesn't give you the right to make personal judgements regarding my character. Any opinions you have regarding how ED may perceive me and my intentions are speculative at best and should be stated as such.
