While flying online, accepting random missions, I must create my waypoints manually. The problem is that it is tedious to enter waypoints in the nav computer. Especially in VR… Could it be possible to have either one or both of the following solutions to help with that: Add shortcuts for nav computer keys, so I can simply type on my real-life keyboard numpad to enter waypoints (this feature is available for the F-16C for example) Support waypoints entered via the F10 map. This is a feature from the Viggen, which is great in multiplayer: because if I die or if my computer crash, and I rejoin the game, my waypoints are still on the server map, so I can re-inject them in just a few clicks. What do you think of it?
-
Certainly! Yesterday, I have retested with the latest drivers from nVidia, with Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling set to on. It took 10 minutes to get a crash while playing with the Valve Index in VR. I was playing with Mirage 2000 skins (going through a list of 10 to 15) Checking the F10 map Coming back to my cockpit, re-arming While I was entering waypoints in my computer, my friend on the next parking spot was playing with F-16C skins Then I got a crash to desktop without any dialog box Here are the files I got (dcs.20201001-003214.dmp is 0 bytes, so I do not post it here) After that, I turned off HAGS, rebooted and the flight was fine for hours... Let me know if this helps dcs.log DxDiag-crash2020-09-30.txt dcs.20201001-003214.crash.txt

On 2020-09, with everything up to date, I still get random crashes in DCS World VR, depending on how much I play with F-10 and aircraft skins in multiplayer. Disabling the hardware GPU scheduling, prevents crashes in DCS, and replace them by random heavy stutter time to time… Not perfect, but better than crashing in a middle of a two hours flight…

Ooops, I missed that post. Marvelous video  I wonder if the A-10 mavericks can do the same. And if they work fine, why on earth the Viggen does not use the exact same weapon, just renamed?!
-
I believe that there is a bug in the Viggen cockpit frame 3d model normal. It looks nothing like that, but this is visually disturbing in VR when you have the front frame in your forehead to say the least… Viggen-Canopy-Bug.miz
-
I know it may sound stupid, but there is a bug which annoys me online: The Viggen canopy is not synchronized online. When everyone has it open or close at specific time on the ground, I look like an asocial person with my apparently always closed canopy :) Can you *please* flag it, so its state is replicated over the network?

Sometimes for fun or out of necessity, I am firing RB-75B at air targets. It is an interesting weapon against slow / non-maneuverable targets, also because it cannot be easily jammed… The other day, I have tried against a head to head MiG-23, and I was surprised to see that the RB-75 was able to track a target which moved in its back! I am not sure about the official tracking of this weapon, but I would be surprised the real Maverik has be made to track far away from its intended target point which is usually a building or a tank. I have attached the flight as well as a screenshot which demonstrate the problem. Also, I believe that the MiG-23 is also cheating on that matter, because I don’t believe a real pilot would have be aware of the incoming AGM-65. But I guess this is another more general bug... Tacview 1.8.4 is now available on tacview.net and Steam! Download: https://tacview.net/download Release Date: Thu, 20 Aug 2020 Operating System: Windows® 32-bit / 64-bit File Size: 408.8 MB This release improves the support of all your favorite flight sims and even add support for a brand new one everybody is talking about ;) New maps have been integrated, the database has been expended and tweaked to better display your favorite aircraft, and thanks to your feedback, many tweaks and fixes have been made to improve everyday debriefings. BuzyBee and I are also experimenting with new addons such as the fuel consumption and turn rate calculators. They are still experimental, and may not work for all aircraft yet, but I am sure you will find them quite useful for your navigation and dogfight analysis. They can be enabled via the “Add-ons” menu. Meanwhile, I am now putting more and more time on the development of Tacview 2.0. This new generation will be a huge step up, so it could last for the upcoming 10 to 20 years. Unlike Tacview 1.x, Tacview 2.0 is very open from the beginning, it is like a debriefing Lego bag, which anyone, with little technical knowledge, can easily create addons of any kind to expend and create new data and tools at will. And it runs on all platforms including tablets. Take care and have pleasant flights ;) Vyrtuoz & BuzyBee FEATURES & CHANGES ADDED support for DCS: Syria Map ADDED support for DCS: The Channel Map ADDED support for DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt ADDED support for Microsoft Flight Simulator ADDED support for Flexible and Interoperable Data Transfer (FIT) files ADDED Falcon 4 Balkans runways and ILS from oakdesign ADDED Optimal turn-rate calculator addon ADDED GPX routes import to the Track Injector add-on ADDED Rangefinder Add-on to display distance between multiple objects in one place (Tacview Enterprise) ADDED automatic synchronization of audio/video files (if appropriate metadata available) ADDED support for Drag & Drop on audio/video media windows ADDED NTO Polar Vortex v2.4 for BMS 4.34 ADDED numerous objects and 3D models to the database ADDED option to enable/disable radar locks detailed labels (off by default) ADDED /SaveConfig:false command line option to not save UI settings on exit IMPROVED DCS World helicopters advanced telemetry IMPROVED EAG file support (aircraft type, color and country) IMPROVED corrupted (incomplete) telemetry files support IMPROVED support for non-standard GPX files IMPROVED debug log FIXES FIXED crash when closing Tacview installed in C:\Tacview\ FIXED potential crashes when running out of memory FIXED C-101 3D model scale FIXED rare case when export.lua content could be reset on install FIXED AoA was not exported for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet

My apologies for the delay, I had a limited access to Internet and my computer last week. I have tested with an "old" and then the latest version of Bitdefender. While the old version of Bitdefender gives a warning, the latest version does not say FSX2ACMI is infected. I believe that was a false positive. Otherwise Tacview.exe should have been affected the same way since it has been built at the same time and on the same system as FSX2ACMI.exe.

Try to save them in the following folder which is not protected (if it is not visible, copy/paste it in the file explorer to get there): C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\Terrain\Textures\

Tacview 1.8.3 is out! Tacview 1.8.3 is now available on tacview.net and Steam! Download: https://tacview.net/download Release Date: Fri, 1 May 2020 Operating System: Windows® 32-bit / 64-bit File Size: 390.6 MB I am always looking for ways to improve Tacview’s frame rate to make it as smooth as possible, and to compensate for new features added over time, especially for lower-end systems. During my investigations, I have found a few bottlenecks, big and small. In this version I have already implemented a few optimizations which should improve the performance on lower end systems and make the UI and 3D a bit more responsive. In the following updates, I will work on a bigger optimization which should have considerable impact on missions with a lot of objects. Always an ongoing project, with the help of my partner BuzyBee, plenty of 3D objects and declarations have been added the to the database so your favorite planes and vehicles are properly displayed. This certainly makes debriefings more comfortable and intuitive! In addition to new options to customize your experience, there have been several tweaks to make the satellite view more comfortable and weapons impact clearer. Meanwhile, Tacview 2.0 is still growing up slowly, but surely. All the tools required for its multi-platform development are complete (some are even used to speed-up Tacview 1.x development). The next step (starting soon), will be the development of the core engine, which will include completely rewritten terrain, 3D engine (using Vulkan for portability and performances), as well as a greatly improved telemetry engine, feature-wise. I am as impatient as you are about it, it is a long-term project, slow but steady! Take care and fly safe! Vyrtuoz & BuzyBee FEATURES & CHANGES ADDED Static Object Injector addon to easily add static objects in Tacview world ADDED Track Injector addon to create flights from waypoints ADDED numerous objects and 3D models to the database ADDED IL-2 Arras elevation map ADDED support for DCS World submarines ADDED new keyboard shortcuts to inject bookmarks in DCS World ADDED longitudinal and lateral accelerations (g-force) ADDED support for routes and waypoints for GPX files ADDED support for DRX Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) static objects ADDED support for WebP for custom terrain textures ADDED support for non spherical engagement ranges ADDED support for inactive SAM/AAA sites (radar on/off) ADDED support for simpler event-log sheets (timeout+callsign+event) ADDED an option to auto hide latitude/longitude coordinates whenever bullseye coordinates are present ADDED support for Shift + PgUp / PgDown to move quickly +/- 10 seconds in time ADDED support for more exotic characters in latitude & longitude coordinates ADDED /Fullscreen command line option to start Tacview in fullscreen mode IMPROVED impact effects are now more transparent so we can still see concerned objects IMPROVED direction vector length to be proportional to the corresponding object speed IMPROVED fast forward speeds to better match other debriefing tools (x3/x5/x10/x20) IMPROVED support for csv files such as granular data from Flightradar24 IMPROVED support of wrongly formatted date/time in GPX files IMPROVED anti-aircraft engagement range display in satellite/orthogonal view IMPROVED support of static objects from KML files IMPROVED handling of carriage return characters when importing telemetry files IMPROVED Database Builder to automatically refresh Tacview database after each save IMPROVED media windows now display only file names without path in their title FIXES FIXED charts auto-scale was not always correct FIXED the event-log importer to work regardless of the user regional settings in Windows FIXED rare crash when manually removing objects from the world FIXED crash in Database Builder add-on caused by duplicate entries FIXED could not add waypoints via the add/edit dialog box FIXED pilots not properly exported for DCS World Harrier & M2000

fixed [REPORTED]F-5E incorrect engine behavior with strong winds
Vyrtuoz replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in Bugs and Problems
Even if I had a different point of view on it, Yes, I believe this is based on the same bug. -
With DCS/2.5.6.44266 in an extreme weather mission with the F-5E. Taking of from Abu Musa and flying to the south in the attached misison. When I am facing the wind, if I reduce power to idle, and then push them to 90% to 110%, they overheat and to not produce any significant thrust. When the wing is coming from 9 to 10 o-clock, the left engine is almost alright, but the right engine will starve easily. (I am not going to argue about the fact that there is no wind for the plane in flight aside when changing layers or turbulences) I believe this is a bug which is usually unnoticed with the usual weather. However, with extreme weather such as 40 m/s wind, engines behave improperly. If I go from idle to 100%+ very slowly, I can usually recover the trust. While is it true that 40 m/s wind is kind of exaggerated, I can’t help but thinking that there is an underlying bug which is always here even when flying in “normal” conditions. (Sorry I do not have a short track to demonstrate this, but this is easy to test with an F-5E from the attached mission) Battle_For_Dubai-Phase3-v01.miz

Also, I was still able to see Mirknir’s laser with NVG in multiplayer while its laser was OFF.

Suggestion for better export.lua to allow multiple plugins
Vyrtuoz replied to Ozone42's topic in DCS Modding
I agree Ozone, the way export.lua is working, is definitely not reliable. I really like your idea to fix the problem Vortex! Going to do this in Tacview 1.8.3, I am tired of corrupted export.lua ;) -

Steam licenses can work only with the Steam edition of Tacview. I have done some tests, and I was able to launch Steam Tacview on one computer while running another Steam game on another computer. I have just ignored the warning from Steam and Tacview was able to continue to run on my laptop. You may also be able to run it in off-line mode (this will not prevent Tacview network features from working).
-
Unfortunately, most static objects are not listed by DCS World during the telemetry export... This is something I would like to improve. Maybe next time I will do a pass on the exporter I will find a workaround this limitation. Meanwhile you can try to place unattended non-static vehicles for aircraft and other parked vehicles on the ground vehicles, this may help to better judge ground attacks inside Tacview.
-
Hi Guys, @Tiramisu This was a bug specific to the Steam edition of Tacview 1.8.1, which has been fixed in the latest 1.8.2 betas. You can ask Steam to install the latest beta via Steam Library -> Tacview -> Properties -> Beta -> Beta branch let me know if this helps. @wraith70 You can display the latitude/longitude of an object or a point on the ground via CTRL + SHIFT + Mouse Drag over the 3D view Also, if the top/left date/time takes too much space in your screen, you can change the scale of it, via Settings -> UI-Scaling @ustio Whenever DCS judge an aircraft has been damaged "a lot", it removes it from the exported telemetry. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of DCS World, there is no way around it…

Yes, unfortunately, the DCS World function used to gather objects information is very CPU intensive. This is independent from the edition of Tacview you are using (the problem would be the same with similar addons such as LotAtc) When Tacview exporter is active, after a flight, you double check that in your dcs.log file, and see the detail of what is taking so much time. I have tested today with a mission containing about 250 objects and the Lua function GetWorldObjects takes about 16% of CPU, while Tacview code takes about 1.5%... 2019-12-09 20:36:34.056 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: During the last 60.0s an average of 258 units objects and 36 ballistic objects have been active per frame 2019-12-09 20:36:34.056 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: The average frame rate of 73.0fps would have been 88.7fps if the flight data recorder was disabled 2019-12-09 20:36:34.056 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: DCS World simulation is taking 82.3% of CPU 2019-12-09 20:36:34.056 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: DCS GetWorldObjects is taking 16.3% of CPU 2019-12-09 20:36:34.056 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Tacview recorder is taking 1.4% of CPU I have optimized to the maximum Tacview exporter code (multithreaded C++), and there is no way around GetWorldObjects(), I must call it each frame to gather all objects data. For example, there is no way to split the current call into smaller multiple calls…
