  1. Well... take a look at the thread title.... look at the tone in the opening post... people debating if its worth a lousy 50 bucks with the present deficiencies, all the nonsense insignificant nitpicks put together, no wonder some people step up and act in defence of this model.
  2. Believe me... with that nitpick attitude... you'll never make it as a military aviator because it just proves you cant set your priorities straight. Good luck anyway.
  3. Exactly my point msalama! Belsimtek did such a great job at creating this awesome Huey model, and then you STILL have these imo freaks that nitpick about rivets. That really bothers me. If you worry about that much details, throw away your PC and fly a real Huey, for crying out loud.
  4. Lol, this just made my day. Awesome! Instead of learning something, just continue with your life... lol. I'm not constantly fighting. I'm honest and direct. Most people can't handle that. Can't blame them... but at least I worry more about realism than people nitpicking about rivets. Really, try to learn from it instead of feeling offended.
  5. Yes, pathological nitpickers for sure. There has to be someone to give a reality check. And ofcourse Belsimtek has nothing to do with the core mechanics of DCS, I'm just saying people should have higher priority issues to 'complain' about apart from the most awesome heli-sim ever.
  6. Yeah but why would someone (as a figure of speech) start counting rivets and complaining it's not exactly like the reak thing? That's just pathetic. The Belsimtek Huey is absolutely brilliantly modelled. The nitpicking is beyond all sanity. If you want to complain about the Huey, complain about the settling with power. Not the number of rivets. If you like details so much, I suggest masturbating on photo's. In DCS, just fly the damn thing and enjoy doing so.
  7. Yes it is. If you mean the left seat.
  8. Doesn't matter, this thread is useless anyway.
  9. You know yourself that this is total bullshit. As is playing Crimson Skies IV, whatever that is. Some people should come to understand that there's a difference between a pathological nitpicker and a normal person. A normal person won't bother to look at all those details real aircrew wouldn't notice IRL anyway. It's a waste of braincells, waste of time, waste of life etc. Why don't those nitpicking people worry more about the bigger improvements to be made possible in DCS? Like... For instance weather effects... Or ATC... Instead of counting rivets. Come on.
  10. Theres many things aircrews wont notice. You cant know the size shape and location of every detail. You simply cant. Also, theres a difference between helicopters of the same type as well ofcourse.
  11. 50 Bucks for a sim that's probably better than the model and graphics in a REAL LIFE SIMULATOR. Sweet deal I'd say! Beta or no beta, it's litterally sick to be searching and noticing these details. People should worry more about the bigger things that actually affect flight.
  12. Well you see, thats the thing. I think its really unhealthy to be nitpicking like that. There are so many better ways to spend your time than this... It really amazes me people notice these tiny useless details. The model is way more detailed (outside at least) than a real life simulator for instance. And a real life pilot wouldn't even notice the things brought up in this thread, because it's simply totally irrelevant. Even if a pilot has 1000 hours on an airframe, he'll still notice new things and discover new things he or she has never seen before. It's a waste of time to go over every little detail with a magnifying glass and I do have to say I feel some pity for people who actually spend their time like that.
  13. The Huey is simply awesome. The best heli sim you'll find for the PC. It is EVERYTHING but half-donkeyed. Only nutcases give a ****, in my honest opinion. Why would you even notice this nitpick crap? What purpose does it serve? It should be about how the model flies, how it reacts, how it handles. Not about which screws are missing or what parts are a couple millimeters too far apart. THIS. IS. CRAZY. And exactly as Jaximus says, this is not an engineering simulator lol.
  14. LOL, this is unbelievable. I can't imagine anyone giving a ****. This sim is so much better than you'll find anywhere... Why try to nitpick on totally insignificant things, normal people won't even notice.
  15. Nah that's ok. I learned something today. I thought that only -10's were flight manuals. Maybe -1's are just old fashioned or something.
  16. What type of manual? I'm only familiar with the dash ten.
  17. LOL, don't think that US Army pilots have such a great reputation... A lot of them, I'm not saying all, but probably most are very average to say the least.
  18. What's a dash-one? So... You NEED a boost pump for startup regardless of the suction feed? I always thought you could startup without boost pumps on.
  19. I don't understand why you need to turn on the main fuel pumps for the startup of engine 2 in the A10... Can someone explain that to me?
  20. Having seen the video... Awesome work! This is the kind of stuff we need for the Huey!
  21. Stay strange indeed.....
  22. Hey guys, I'm working on a mission. It's basicly a CSAR mission. You have a friendly squad running away from the enemy, and the clients have to find and pick up that squad. I've got it all sorted out with a client coming near, squad popping flares, client starting approach, squad popping smoke... But at that point I want the squad to stop moving, so they can be picked up. For some reason this won't work. The trigger does work, because they pop smoke, but in that same trigger the action should also be to have the group stopped. What I have done right now is: Flag(11) is ON at mission start The to-be-rescued-squad has a triggered action: 1. Hold -/? The END CONDITION for this: IS USER FLAG 11 (checked) This should have the squad moving until Flag 11 is OFF, correct? When a client comes near (inside the moving trigger zone), they'll pop smoke and the other action is FLAG(11) OFF. At this point I would expect the squad to stop moving, but they won't. Does anyone know what the problem is? Or how would you guys do this? FYI, this is just a small part of all my triggers/conditions etc, because I've made a couple of random squads to be rescued so you won't always find them in the same area. Also, I want all 4 Huey clients to be able to pick up the troops, I've got that implemented as well. Just need the squad to stop moving...
  23. Bottom line, this Huey is awesome and most probably the best helisim available for the PC. Tailstrike, I don't know your background and where you get your knowledge from, or even what you're trying to prove. Your findings are so minimalistic, it proves that the Belsimtek is great.
  24. Well, brownouts and whiteouts SHOULD be simulated, that'd be REALLY nice. In my opinion the radalt is always useful when flying low. Especially at night.
