  1. Oh by the way I received my checklist today :)
  2. I’m prett sure that some of these checklist points will be implemented into DCS although there might be things you just can’t simulate because of classification for example. Nice checklist though where did you get it from ?
  3. Thats definitely something we should figure out when the Module gets released. There should be a RIO Lounge were more experienced guys can help newer Backseaters and where we all can share tactics, checklists and whatever is needed in the Backseat for a successful mission.
  4. I totally agree!
  5. Exactly the same here mate! I’d also rather fly as RIO, I just love all the action in the backseat. I think it’s also the fact that you have to rely on the pilots skills to work out a successful mission together.
  6. Yeah we should definitely open up a sticky once the Tomcat is released for Pilots and RIOs to get a Crew together. Can’t wait to sit in the backseat with someone who also wants to fly this as real as it gets ;).
  7. That’s pretty nice I haven’t heard about that! If they’d make that possible for the Cat aswell that would be pretty awesome. I’m pretty sure that you can hack in WPs by Coordinates but that would take a while, just like in the A-10C.
  8. Yeah that’s what I was thinking yesterday when I wrote this as well. I’m oretty sure though that Heatblur is going to simulate the RIOs Office as far as they can. Classification might kill some stuff but there still should be enough to do for the Backseaters. I’d love to see a feature which makes it possible to upload different WP for different missions right into the jets NAV System. I can’t speak for the Cat but I know from the Tornado that the Weapon System Officers had some sort of stick with them with all the Waypoints loaded on it so that it was just a plug n play system to upload their Flightplan/WP right into the NAV Computer which is pretty neat.
  9. Hahaha I was kidding buddy ;). Of course you’re supposed to be aware of the tactical situation at all times! I remember Tornado Backseaters sleeping during transition flights because they had nothing else to do except for checking the WPs from time to time. I’m really curious about how many ppl will actually only focus on the backseat and learn the RIOs systems he has to use in the rear cockpit. It seems like a good RIO is essential for a successful mission in DCS just like in the real world. This is just awesome! Imagine sitting in the backseat assisting the pilot with call outs during a carrier approach and looking over his shoulder. Sooooo excited!
  10. I’ve read hours through these forums and I’m a huge fan of the F-14 overall and can’t wait for it to be released. I’ve also started reading through manuals and everything I can find on the net which is surprisingly quite a lot. As a former Tornado Crew Chief (now NATO E-3A CM) I’m aware of the workload Backseaters get and wondered how realistic the RIOs Workstation will be implemented and if it’ll get as close as it can get in the virtual world. The reason why I’m asking though is that I clearly see me in the backseat of this jet and I hope that we backseaters will be busy as possible (I don’t wanna sit there licking the canopy except when we are dogfighting lol). Just curious if anyone has more information.
  11. E-3A AWACS getting gas from a KC-135 during a Training Mission © by me.
  13. Selling my pro clip and my track ir 4, have been using it for about 2 years and it still works fine! Won't come with the original casing though, don't have it anymore. Price: 100€ Shipping is possible, write me a PM if interested.
  14. I'll be a RIO aswell, I love screwing around with weapon, avionic and navigation systems. I hope that there will be some kind of virtual USN Tomcat Squadron out there that wants to fly this as real is it gets. I'll definetly will join these guys then. (Due to being a real world military aviation mechanic, it's even more fun if you know how some systems really work).
  15. Still for sale (I'm in Germany though). New price: 350€ I'll take any offers though.
  16. Price Update: 365€
  17. Sure, just have to figure out how expensive the shipping will be.
  18. Selling the mentioned items from Germany, The HOTAS Warthog has a brand new replaced Flight Stick (the other one was broken) and has been in use for about 3 times, the throttle is only a year old and also hasnt been in use very much do to spare time issues. The Pedals are half a yea old and have also been in use for only about 5 times. Selling only both, the HOTAS System and the Pedals together! If interested Ill send out pictures to those that are interested in buying it. Price: 380€ (already includes shipping).
  19. There are night vision goggles without an IR function though, some NVGs have an IR Mode that you have to switch on to see IR ( Laser Beams, IR Light f.e).
  20. How about starting with training missions? There are pretty good servers out there that run good training missions with different practice areas (all the way from easy to hard). I personally like practicing on those servers because there are other pilots on there practicing aswell, so if there are procedures that are unfamiliar to you people can probably help out. And you can practice a wide variety of weapon usage, from Guns all the way to JDAMs without having to switch between different missions.
  21. I would pay even more for a two seater module to be honest, if you take a look at Modules in the FSX section that are as realistic as they can be like the ones from PMDG, you are paying nearly 100 bucks or even more for it but it's definetly worth the money. I think it depends on the system depth but I'm sure that LN will set the bar pretty high just like they did with the Mig-21.
  22. I wondered if this will be implemented in the future by ED. I've talked to some real JTACs on an exercise last week about unguided bomb delivery and the 9-Line and they've told me that if they request a unguided bomb drop on a target they measure the wind speed and direction to give the pilot the chance to drop them wind corrected. This would be very useful for us due to the fact that the wind speed and direction with the dynamic weather on is always unclear. I mean if the tower can tell us from which direction the wind is coming I don't see a problem why the JTAC couldn't do this.
  23. I'm not that kind of guy that begs for stuff here but I have to admit that the A-G role is a very interesting feature, despite the fact that everybody knows what the main role of the F-14 was during the early days when it was brand new. I think this would've been something that LN would have looked over anyways once it's released, no doubt.
