  1. What's wrong with this plane? I haven't been flying this plane for about a month. Tonight, when I try out the free flight mission, the K4 is doing a barrel roll on its own the second I unpaused the game. And I need to push the stick forward VERY hard in order to keep it flying level. What the hell are you doing with this plane, ED?
  2. I don't see why they put up an official announcement saying that DCS World 2 would be released in winter 2014 and released several NTTR showcase videos. They have been using DCS World 2 to make videos for new aircrafts since at least 8 months ago. I mean, nobody forced them to do so. I think they should stop using products that are unlikely to be released in the near future, or even to be released in the end in showcase videos of new products that will soon be released.
  3. 3 hits might not be able to bring down a bomber in some cases. But in no way a P-51 can fly away after 3 hits as if nothing happened.
  4. Hit rate is irrelevant here. No matter how bad a pilot's aim is. If he landed one 30mm shell onto an enemy fighter, it should do some, if not severe, damage to it. How did you come to the conclusion that one has to hit only engines or the cockpit to knock a bomber out of sky?
  5. As for trajectory, MK 108 is not bad at all at the distance it is meant to be used at. The differences in muzzle velocity and hence trajectory can be neglected at that distance. Agreed on its weakness in game though. If its destruction power were right, I could take down more bogeys (and more efficiently) using it than with a MG 151/20.
  6. While in a dogfight, DCS K4 at this stage feels more like a kite fluttering up and down. That's the major difference from K4 in IL2 and FSX, which is also the factor that kept me from flying it. I hope the latest patch that has fine tuned the FM will make it feel more like a heavy plane.
  7. Who said it didn't? It's just not valid. Never mind. I'll start hunting P-51 online (with my nerfed 30mm).
  8. Even the first post doesn't have a valid timeframe. You could have told me 'no' directly. It would save a lot of time for both of us.
  9. I recalled in the December or January newsletter Matt mentioned that 2.0 would be released in Winter 2014. Are we still in 2014?
  10. I also want a valid timeframe. Since promo videos of new planes have been using the. NTTR map for a long time. It gives me a feeling that it and 2.0 will be released very soon. Knowing that we can't fly those planes in the NTTR map as the videos showed as I'm sure many of us will not be interesting in buying them. If they aren't gonna be released any time soon. Please tell us so that we'll stop waiting and continue playing 1.0.
  11. Frankly, if they can't get the firepower of these warbirds right, it is meaningless to play this game, no matter how awesomely this plane is graphically modeled. I start to regret backing DCS WWII. Maybe I should have chosen BoS.
  12. Convergence settings, even for a engine-mounted cannon, make a big difference for a WWII pilot's gunnery. And it was certainly not that hard to adjust them by ground crew. With an ideal (vertical) convergence setting for MK 108, the cannon shells would adhere to the pilot's line of sight as long as possible. The official convergence settings of Luftwaffe fighters, from what I read, were actually optimized for low to mid-level pilots instead of ace pilots. These settings aimed for a larger dispersion area over the distance so that it was easier for rookie pilots to score a hit.
  13. If this is what you conclude from your DCS multiplayer gameplay, then ED has done something very wrong. For P-51, speed is paramount. Going into a vertical climb will make it an easy target when it's approaching the top of the climb and long after it reaches there. Horizontal turns are for spitfires. Bf 109 is actually an energy fighter. If you know how to manage your energy, you will be safe while at the same time deadly at any altitude.
  14. 3 bursts is already too many. And it is not about gunnery. We are talking the damage inflicted by a single MK 108 round. Accuracy is irrelevant here.
  15. Which version are you using, 14.8 or 14.41? @Mustang, what's the best version for ArmA 3?
  16. Just upgraded to 14.41. What can I say? FPS skyrocketed, especially over complex scenes with a lot of ground objects. Do you happen to have some other FPS tweaks for AMD cards?
  17. What I want is two MK 108 gundolas
  18. I agree. The acceleration is slower than before the patch.
  19. Do you have a plan to get the bar fixed, Sith?
  20. Without fixed reticles, I don't think there will a lot of 190 pilots flying online because skilled pilots rely a lot on deflection shooting in combat.
  21. What did you mean by HUD box? I do notice that the cockpit frame of DCS K4 is different from the drawing posted above. It can be clearly seen from (at around 0:22). The A pillars are tilted inwards at the joint points with the dash board. But it's the opposite in the drawing. And the side boards are tilted way too outwards. This makes the cockpit quite roomy, which is not correct. The cockpit of DCS K4 reminds me of the K4 in IL-2, because it has all its (false) characteristics . The most correct modelling (structure-wise) of the cockpit of Bf 109K-4 I've ever seen is the K4 created by Flight Replicas for FS 2004:
  22. Speaking of weight, the Mustang has a larger weight than the Dora. However, its rudders are much more responsive. And even if you do a perfect three-point landing, you'll still need to steer the plane using rudders, due to the engine torque and small bumps on the runway. Brakes are too difficulty and dangerous to be used at speed above 100 km/h.
  23. If that's true, I'm wondering what are used to steer gliders after they touch down.
  24. Are you sure about that? How come the rudders are reasonably responsive when I perform a takeoff roll?
  25. OK. That's the answer I was expecting. But how do you explain the sluggish rudder response after touchdowns?
