Changes to the behaviour of net.dostring_in()
boomer92688 replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
I have no problem with the changes in terms of security for the general DCS user. I have a HUGE problem with this being just dropped on all of us who run or help manage servers with no notice. This should have been a preview build weeks (preferably months) in advance for us to be able to make changes and be ready for. Instead we're stuck with our players going "why isn't the server updated" and we have to tell them "ED broke stuff again, we will get to it when we can."- 93 replies

not planned Apache M230 Ammo not in Warehouse?

@Flappie That's unfortunate, but thank you for taking the time to get an answer for me! At least now I can move on from trying to get that to work!- 4 replies

I would really love this, as well as helmet strobes on troops. With Afghanistan out, I've got some really solid mission ideas I want to build, but many of the night ones require strobes for friendly units moving through a city.

Has anyone been able to limit resupply of the Apache's Chaingun ammo via the warehouse system? I was unable to find it under M230, M788, or M789. I tried the one 30mm option in there, but it's for a bushmaster. Things like the Vulcan ammo seem to be there so this seems like a bug / oversight to me.

Mission 1 Range Boundaries
boomer92688 replied to boomer92688's topic in F-14 Speed & Angels Campaign
Sounds like a whole lot of git gud needed on my part! Absolutely love this campaign. The immersion is next level. I managed to find Texaco pretty much on my flight path haha and hooked up on fumes. I’m sure I would have had plenty of fuel if I had minded the range boundaries. Looking at it now I just carried on way too far away which led to an overly long flight home. -
This is by no means "game breaking," but in Mission 1 I was dinged because I "Left the airspace of the range." I looked through the briefing PDF as well as the in game briefing and I don't see the actual range area marked anywhere. Did I miss it or is it something that needs to be covered / added? I can think of two possible places where it may have happened: 1.) Continuing on straight for too long while reestablishing speed and angels 2.) I deviated from the route on the way back to Nellis but BEFORE Stuckey to hit up the tanker since 1300 lbs wasn't likely going to take me 100 miles. I was still able to complete the mission with a passing grade, but was surprised to see this since I didn't see it briefed or covered anywhere.

Just received my damper last night! I'm in the US, and for anyone curious I ordered on 10/13/22 and received it 11/02/22. K-51 shipped it less than 24 hours after I paid, and kept in contact the whole time, even notifying me when it arrived in the US. The longest part of the shipping process was just waiting for it to leave the processing facility in Moscow. Overall I'm really pleased with the damper! It was easy to install, and looks like it is an original part on the pedals.

I was wondering if it would be possible to get button bindings for throttle idle position and cutoff positions for helicopters with twist throttles such as the UH-1H? For many of us with collectives that have the physical twist throttle, we have to come up with workarounds to get them to work from cold and dark, as DCS will not let an axis move the throttle until it's been moved past the idle detent via mouse or a button. My current workaround is to press and hold a button bound to "throttle up," but that kind of defeats the whole purpose of having the twist throttle for immersion to begin with. If we could get bindings to move the throttle to those two positions (as we have in jets and the apache) we could make it work in the collective software by simply triggering the button press via the collective's software (virpil in my case) when the axis is at a specific range. Then the throttle would work seamlessly as it should! I'll be more than happy to provide any additional detail / information I can.
