You have to set the HSI scale to a value so that the selested TACAN station symbol is visible within your HSI scale range. If the TACAN symbol is not visible (scale too small), the course arrow will not appear on the screen.

Just a typo for your TS channel names: The plural of "aircraft" is "aircraft" and not "aircrafts".

Hey Alpenwolf, good to see you and the Cold War alive and kicking on the open beta! Finally I get to fly my Tiger again online. Regarding your to-do items 2) & 4) you might want to ask Drexx for help, he accomplished something in that directions for his DDCS server. Regarding including the current Harrier into Cold War, I would restrict his A/A capabilities to carry only rear-aspect Sidewinders. I always found it a little op on the ACG Cold War going against the Fishbed with 4 AIM-9Ms... Rear-aspect-only would make it little more FRS.1/Falklands-like until mayba one day a FRS.1 module comes out. With MiG-19, F-4E, Mirage III, A-4, A-7E and alike, a bright future looms for cold war WVR airborne CQB! See you on your server, S!

Just did around 90' of casual GCI and noticed as a sad new-to-me observation that now even friendly STT-locks of enemy a/c don't make the hostiles show up on the GCI observer's F10 view consistently. During the whole session I never had more than rare 2 sec contacts of red a/c, most of the time only less than a second and way to short to read out altitude. All this despite way longer STT hardlocks and supported Sparrow shots by friendly F-15s & F-18s. Just FYI.

That's already great simming from your side! Gotta try that one myself... From seeing the two vids for the first time, the main difference I noticed in the initial setup (run-in @ 500/500) is that the RL guy lined up along the angled landing deck, whereas you came in along the ship's course / longitudinal axis. Try it his way, that should make your turn angled a little "better" in regard to the boat on the 180. Basically, try making your turn a 360 instead of that 370 you did in your video. From your description of "variable speedbraking" after the 180, I would also leave that thing always fully out until fully configured and on AoA speed. As a principle: try to get configured asap, the longer you can fly it as used to and the earlier you can fully concentrate on the turn radius / bank angle during the final 180.

You can lock'em up and IFF - or you just shoot'em all and wait for the verdict of the autokick script...

No, server version is up to date, v1.5.0. Only client got updated to v1.5.1 and remains compatible to older server version. SRS on 104th worked fine for me 2 hours ago.

Could we please have Hueys in Clean Sweep!?

Great resource, thanks a bunch!

Calls for a cold&dark vs. "colder&darker" option in the module-specific options menu, for realism vs. those who would want to tell their plane chief to go f... himself: "I PAID for switching every single switch in this pit myself - don't you dare to touch anything before I strap in!!!" (Crew Chief would reply: "SCREW YOU, PC GAMER, YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF FLYING FIGHTERS IRL!!!") https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=852569188284984&set=g.1891340927860497&type=1&theater&ifg=1

Which version of DCS will the hornet come out on?
Shadoga replied to NineGzuz's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Oh yes, it can! -
I searched but couldn't find a solution: Ka-50 VHF2 R-800 doesn't seem to have a clickable volume knob in cockpit and no volume keybindings. SRS volume for this radio is locked at 50% and not controlable through SRS volume slider. How can I change the volume for this radio, what am I missing? If I'm not missing anything, then how about disconnecting SRS from Cockpit controls for the Black Shark in order to be able to control this radio volume through SRS' slider.

I didn't mention F-111, Su-24, Tornado, A-6 and alikes because their A/G radar and other ground targeting and navigation capabilities would somewhat be wasted if possibly left out completely or extremely dumbed down on FC-level. But then again, Digital Integration's Tornado's A/G radar and TFF autopilot of the early nineties was on some sort of FC-level... - and great fun, especially with it's great close to reallife mission planning tool! But it sure would be nice to have at least one new entry to the FC-fleet with multiplayer-twinseater capability.
-
No, I don't want to. I can sleep and live and sim well without any missionary efforts. I have no doubt there is interest, place and economic reason for more FC-level modules in DCS World. The HiFi modules are numerous and their future expansion is well underway. I believe an expansion of FC-level fleet and addition of same level warbirds are wise moves for the future of DCS. There definitely are loads of simmers who love to spend time on an FC-level game, proven by the success of LOMAC & IL2 before BlackShark extended the brand to include HiFi modules. FC-level is the valuable heritage of DCS, and continuously integrating that with hardcore HiFi simming is mandatory - because for the future, nothing is more important than high and growing numbers of players/customers. Back in the first decades of the hobby, we had more companies, more different approaches to milflightsimming and thus more products, each in their own worlds and with their own fan communities. Some liked the Falcon series more, some the Jane's, some Flanker, some DI or DiD or Microprose products and some Novalogic. Now, if we translate the Falcon3/4 and Jane's F-15/-18/Longbow into today's HiFi modules and on the other end of the spectrum Novalogic's F-16/MiG-29 into today's FC3, the huge improvement over the past is the chance to have them all in the same franchise, the same sim, the same community, the same artificial world. DCS offers the chance to include IL2-fans into it's WW2 branch and to bring in F4/BMS fanboys once a HiFi F16C/D is out, etc. As long as a possible future monopolist market position isn't abused, this is the way to go for a community of gaming military aviation fans.

Ok, I got that wrong... - he was talking about a dedicated WW2 Flying Legends package and apart from that a new FC4 version package with 4 new types fitting more or less into FC and not warbirds. Even better so for my taste.
-
I understood Nick’s FC4 statement in a way that the additional 4 might also be entry drug versions of warbirds to boost interest in DCS WW2 on an IL2 level. Spitfire, P-51, Me109, and some early Yak may be a sweet package in that sense. Or maybe new types that don’t exist as modules yet. Not that I personally would wan’t FC4 to add stuff to that era, just saying that I read that possibility between the lines... My personal favorite additions to FC4 would be 70/80ies Cold War stuff. If I think through what’s not yet likely or confirmed in 3rd party or study-sim development and has no ground radar, I’d love to see: - MiG-23 - MiG-27 (Red really lacking a fast ground pounder with at least laser capability) - Jaguar (the West even more so) - F-16A

Woohoo, many thanks for the hotfix, glad I could help!

Problem just verified as described on 104th Longbow doing radio checks with the help of 104th_Blaze (thanks!).
-
Yes, I’m sure, the UHF and VHF FM worked normal on 257.800 and 30.000. The transmitter of VHF AM also works, people can hear me, but I can’t hear them because for this radio only, the vol. slider indicated in the SRS panel and overlay figure remain locked at 0%, no matter what pos. the in-pit knob is turned to. Will try again later tonight, do you need any additional documentation?

1.5.0.0 is the latest release, isn't it?!

104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
Shadoga replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Hey Mav, thanks for keeping Longbow current and up-to-date with OpenBeta, adding J-11 and BRRT-zelle! Also nice to see a "vintage" Longbow version running from time to time like yesterday. Having been on the original version yesterday evening, I'd like to add my votes to 2 frequently discussed options of Longbow that I didn't comment on before: +1 for switching off client takeoff & landing server messages +1 for re-enabling choppers to load&drop manpad teams Just voicing my opinion, no need to start discussing or justifying matters again, pros&cons have been exchanged already in detail here... Cheers! -
Not been playing DCS for a couple of weeks now, so I might have missed this if reported before: Tonight in MP on 104th Dedi in the UH-1, the VHF AM ARQ-134 was bugged in that the radio volume stayed at 0% in SRS no matter what the cockpit volume knob was turned to. Thus ATC and Air-to-Ground-Tactical frequencies for this server were unusable. DCS OB 2.5.1.16543 SRS v1.5.0.0 Reporting this here first and in case Ciribob can rule out any SRS problem, we (= he :music_whistling: ) might report it as a Huey-Bug later...

Can you elaborate what's missing? - Ground mapping radar, something else or multiple items?
