  1. I have noticed this as well.
  2. Thought I would try and see if the latest update had improved George's ability to maintain a steady hover - unfortunately not. George still jerks from side to side when in a hover. Track attached. The track shows me as pilot taking off and moving to Gudauta's parallel taxiway and going into a 10 foot hover. I then land and swap to the CPG seat and direct George to ascend 10 feet. George gets into a 10 foot hover but still jerks from side to side. Heavy handed cyclic perhaps? Wind was from 150 degrees at 10 knots. Apache Hover Test_2.trk
  3. When George is flying the Apache its ability to maintain a steady hover is severely degraded if there is any wind. The attached track has the wind going towards 330 at 6 knots. In the hover (200 feet ASL) George swings from side to side when the wind is at the aircraft's 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. Surprisingly, George's hover is fairly steady when the wing is coming from 90 degrees right or left of the helicopter in the hover. Me thinks George needs some retraining. Apache Hover Test.trk
  4. I deleted the Config\options.lua as suggested above. Restarted DCS MT and reset my Options - System settings (I took screenshots of Low - Medium - High - VR - Custom 1 - Custom 2 and Custom 3 settings before deleting the options.lua). I then went into a MP server and F2'd AI aircraft in flight. Testing F2 in each of my graphic settings (Low - Medium - High - VR - Custom 1 - Custom 2 - Custom 3) it seems to reduce the ghosting/stuttering somewhat but it did not eliminate it. My computer spec are RTX 3090, 64 GB RAM, i9-11900K @ 3.50 Ghz
  5. Further to the above post. I have now tried using the NVG in the same mission but in the MT version. All is now OK with the NVG being aligned to where I am looking when it comes on (in this case directly at the HUD). Screenshot attached. For information - I fly on a 49 inch screen and use TrackIR.
  6. I tried to use the night vision goggles in the F-18 but they first showed up pointing left and zoomed in. After searching the forums I found a thread in the F-16 pages that stated that SSAO needed to be switched off. I did this and re-entered the mission and switched on the NVG with the result the they now point slightly right of the HUD and still zoomed in. Screenshot and track attached. This was in single thread not MT. F-18C NVG.trk
  7. In the F-15 WSO Control Setup I have bound my HOTAS thumb switch forward to MIC Switch FWD (Call Radio 1 Menu) and my HOTAS thumb switch aft to MIC Switch AFT (Call Radio 2 Menu) and this works OK for me to bring up the Comms Menu.
  8. @Gideon312 I am using my TM Joystick and HOTAS for the WSO Joystick and HOTAS and the two WSO Hand Controllers (RHC and LHC). The way I isolate each is by putting modifiers in the WSO control setups. For the WSO Joystick and HOTAS my modifier is my HOTAS joybtn_25 and for the RHC it is joybtn_10 and for the LHC it is joybtn_9. When the respective joybtns are ON then the relevant control setup works. It does mean that only one - WSO flight controls or WSO RHC or WSO LHC - can be on at any one time so I do have to remember to switch on and off each modifier button as required. Attached are screenshots of the relevant WSO control setups that I have found work OK for me.

    V-n Diagrams

Has anyone come across any V-n Diagrams for the DCS F-15E?
  10. Have you bound keys or buttons in the F-15 WSO Controls setup. When you move from the Pilot (front seat) to the WSO seat (back seat) you also move from the F-15 to the F-15 WSO controls setup.
  11. In the Options > Special the F-15E includes a tick box for Enable Ghost Controls. What are Ghost Controls?
  12. From the screenshot it appears that the front wheel is a couple of inches above the tarmac.
  13. When trying the Cold and Dark instant action mission I jettisoned all stores. However, the Captive AIM-9M on the left wing pylon stayed in place albeit through an invisible support. Screenshot attached.
  14. Further to my post above. I have now have a good look around the map and I have discovered many many more broken roads and around the outer map grids where roads are shown but do not exist when the map is zoomed in. While I appreciate that the map is a Beta version I would have thought getting the road layer complete before release would have been done in order to free up resources for more complex repair tasks.
  15. Found a broken road to the west of Eilat - screenshots attached
  16. There are a number of tactical reasons for firing from a masked position. One involves minimizing exposure and the other involves deception. By popping up - lasing the target - then popping back down the attacker minimizes its exposure to engagement by the target. To further confuse the target's ability to counter an attack, the attacker can shift position and employ indirect fire to destroy the target. Even a small sideways move of 50 to 100 meters will significantly decrease the target's ability to counter the attack as it will most likely be concentrating on the position where it last saw the attacker when it popped up to lase. The fact that the AGM-114L in LOAL first flies towards the previously lased position of the target and then uses its onboard radar to acquire the target makes it an ideal weapon system for undertaking indirect attacks. My scenario was an attack on a SA-15. In DCS the SA-15 has an "acquire time" of 9 seconds - this is an unfortunate DCS'ism as in real life a dormant SA-15 is likely to be operating its FRC unless there is a known air threat - to do otherwise would expose the SA-15 to standoff attack by HARMs etc. In DCS it seems that the AI is on constant 360 degree alert and the weapons system comes into instant action as soon as a target comes into its LOS. While the George CPG is quick on lasing a target there are inbuilt (and I suspect unavoidable) delays - firstly getting George CPG to slave to the Pilot LOS; then selecting the target (which may be one amongst a number of targets that the CPG identifies (lists) - then lasing the target long enough for the location to be put into the AGM-114L. All of these means that when it comes to taking out a target such as a SA-15 it comes down to a "quick draw gunfight" with the odds in favor of the SA-15 as it is under computer control and not human control. My tactic of pop up / lase / pop down / move if necessary / employ indirect fire just evens out the gun fight a little. If both the Pilot and CPG were human then this would be less of an issue / risk as they could discuss and decide on how they were going to undertake the attack - unfortunately the George CPG (while functional within limited parameters) is not in a position to act as a fully contributing team member of the AH-64D. In regard to having LOS to lase for 3 seconds - as I explained above it takes more than 3 seconds since George CPG has to first be vectored (slaved) to the target area / then directed to select the relevant target / then give consent to engage. One second is the difference between success and a flaming AH-64D. The engagement range of a SA-15 is greater than the effective range of a AGM-114 so when tasked to eliminate a SA-15 (or most of the other DCS SAM threats) the AH-64D will always be at a disadvantage - both range wise and reaction time wise - unless it can employ indirect fire effectively (or have the luxury of having both a human Pilot and a human CPG who can act as a team). Anyhow I have enjoyed the discussion and I will continue to work to maximizing my tactics to achieve a successful attack within the game / AI limitations.
  17. Raptor9 thank you for your responses. I think I should have put more information in my original post to explain what I was trying to achieve - which is the ability to use "indirect" fire with the AGM-114L. Perhaps a scenario would help to outline what I am trying to achieve. Imagine a sortie where an AH-64D is tasked with destroying a SA-15 which is located in a small valley. The AH-64H approaches the target location masked by the ridge on one side of the valley. When within Hellfire range of the SA-15's location the AH-64D pops up to a height where the CPG can lase the SA-15 and then the AD-64D pops back down below the ridge line to avoid being fired on by the SA-15. The AD-64H then fires its AGM-114L which goes over the ridge and takes out the SA-15. Currently, if I take the CPG seat I can achieve such an attack as above. However, when I take the Pilot seat I cannot achieve a similar attack because as soon as the CPG loses laser sight on the target (due to the target becoming masked by the ridge line as the AH-64D descends to safe firing position) the CPG de-actions the AGM-114L - thus dumping the target location. While I understand the logic underpinning current CPG actions it is not that I "don't want George to engage a target with a weapon system", rather it is that I don't want to engage the target until the aircraft is once again masked behind the ridge. A command that stops the CPG de-actioning the AGM-114L when direct lase sight of the target is lost would allow for an indirect attack using the AGM-114L. While I love taking the CPG seat, I have found Pilot George somewhat iffy when asked to maintain a hover over broken ground. Hence my desire to take the Pilot seat and prosecute an indirect attack using the AGM-114L when going up against targets such as the SA-15. A real life CPG would be unlikely to de-action the AGM-114L on losing direct sight as the aircraft descends to re-mask knowing the intention to use indirect fire against the target. On a final note, the AH-64D is one of my favourite modules and I cannot wait for the FCR which should make it the deadliest helicopter in DCS. Well done ED Team.
  18. With the introduction of the AGM-114L it would be beneficial to include some additional capabilities in George as follows: 1. Ability for the pilot to direct George to use the AGM-114L when carrying both AGM-114Ks and AGM-114Ls. Similar to the F-14 Jester interface, it would be good if the pilot could select what weapon is to be employed. 2. When using the AGM-114L, for George to lase the target for sufficient time for the target location to be given to the missile and then both cease lasing and report that lasing has ceased.
  19. I have looked over the ME Wish List and while there were a couple of posts that partially touched on this, they were more for specific issues (such as visualizing artillery target zones). My wish is for the ME to have a tool that would allow the mission maker to visualize selected heights above ground level. For example: on the PG map to show all heights above 200 feet AGL as red on the ME map. With the number of helicopter modules now available in DCS this would be a valuable tool for planning helicopter routes in mountainous terrain (such as the Irag area of the PG map). The mission maker could then more easily design routes that masked the aircraft from adversary units and also avoid having units flying over terrain at higher heights not suitable for effective helicopter operations. Unfortunately neither the ALT or the SAT map types are very suitable for easily displaying "heights above" information. A ME tool that can overlay colored areas of selected / specified heights above AGL would overcome this limitation for mission planning.
  20. Do not know but with a smaller body the German pilot is a smaller target and therefore has a higher probability of survival in a dogfight.
  21. I did a comparison of the UK, US and GER pilot bodies and it shows that the tallest is the US, then the UK and the shortest is the GER. Also, when both the UK and GER pilots bail out and land they are shown to have their parachute packs full while the US pilot has an opened parachute pack. I separately had each pilot bail out over Hawkinge and then walked the pilot to a specific Nissan Hut to get a comparison screenshot. It is clear that the height order is US - UK - GER. For some reason I could not zoom in on the GER pilot as much as I could with the other two pilots.
  22. @Chic Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried it and, while George is not to be relied on, it certainly seems to give me the edge in taking control.
  23. Yes it is working again for me. Thank you BIGNEWY and the ED Team for your response. Looking forward to the long term fix as the game gives me all the excitement I need without the tension of not working.
  24. Yes I restarted DCS. My computer had been off for about two hours before I tried to come back in. Ok will do. I will shiut down my computer and do a restart and then try to get into a MP server.
  25. Issue is still there. Log attached. Screenshot of MP page attached. I tried the suggestion to go into SP Instant Action first and then go to the MP Server page. Worked OK until I tried to join a MP server. No action on the JOIN button. The server was one I am in regularly. At least this time the MP page got to the orange loading indicator. dcs.log
