  1. This is not a bug- rather a query as I have not been able to find any documentation / instructions describing what the AB Detent settings do and how they affect the controls settings. Please see attached picture.
  2. Normally once it gets dark, Pri Fly is illuminated with red overhead lighting so as not to affect night vision. Same applies to the Bridge and Flag decks and in any compartments that give access to the Flight Deck or exposed parts of ship - red overhead lighting is mandatory from sunset to sunrise.
  3. This has been reported in the ED Forum DCS 2.9/Bugs and Problems/General Bugs section. Today BIGNEWY posted "Apologies all for not getting to this thread, it has already been reported internally but thank you for your reports and feedback."
  4. Just a thought - for the VA commands that ATC is not responding to, how long have you set "Hold Down For x.xxx seconds" in the VA Add a Keypress box? While I normally only set 0.03 seconds in most of my VA commands, I have found that for a few of the VA commands I need to set a longer hold down keypress time - usually 0.100 seconds.
  5. Can confirm that the SC is causing problems. Whenever I put a SC into a mission and try to run the mission I get flickering in the spawn screen and cannot select an aircraft to fly. Logs attached - one without SC and one with. Screenshot attached. Using Caucasus map. I normally have my Scale GUI set to 1.25. Setting it to 1 resolved the Flickering etc. Setting Scale GUI to any value other than 1 and the Flickering etc returned. Seems that the problem lies with the SC and the GUI scale. dcs_With SC.log dcs_Without SC.log
  6. I have also noticed that when dumping fuel in the F-18 the fuel vapor trail is also purple. Have not tried a fuel dump in any other aircraft as yet.
  7. Yes, as soon as the boom loses connection you need to recycle the aar switch. I have set up a Voice Attack command to do this. Also now that Jester calls Ready Pre-contact all I have to do is say my VA command and then Jester gives "Ready Pre-Contact" and if I am still in the aar position the tanker will reconnect and continue pumping fuel.
  8. Previously, after some of the DCS updates, I have found that I need to go into the Tobii GameHub and rebind the joystick button I use for centering my head-position / view.
  9. Found the issue. I clicked on the Star at the top left of the MP server list and my favourites reappeared at the top of the list. Problem solved.
  10. Flappie, thank you for the reply. Just checked and my favourites are now appearing in the main list but not as the first servers listed. Screenshots attached.
  11. Just checked Tobii 5 operation in DCS after installing the latest patch 2.9.6.58056. It works OK as long as I disable the Launcher in the Settings. Enabling the Launcher disables my Tobii 5. Not a big issue as I am not yet a fan of the Launcher - too much ORANGE. However, at some time in the future if ED gets the Launcher to work without disabling Tobii, then I will be happy to re-enable it.
  12. Tried Create Fast Mission and found that I could not change the season and weather. In the Fast Mission creator the clicking on the Weather and Season boxes only showed RANDOM as a choice. Tried using the Edit Mission and changing the weather through the Mission Editor but it did not work.
  13. Until we can bind it to an axis I have found binding the antenna up/hold and down/hold controls to the fwd/back motions of one of the four way switches on my joystick (which I use for the WSO radar stick with a modifier) to work well.
  14. While only average at AAR, I have found that once I match speed with the tanker in the Ready position that I get the best results by leaving my port throttle untouched and only changing speed using the right throttle.
  15. In June 1968 a Blue on Blue incident occurred when a USAF F-4 mistakenly attacked two ships (HMAS Hobart and USS Edson) which were on the Gunline in the vicinity of the DMZ during the Vietnam War. The now-declassified Report of Proceeding for HMAS Hobart reporting the incident (see paragraph 36 onwards) can be be found here https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/awm-media/collection/RCDIG1074517/bundled/RCDIG1074517.pdf The F-4 fired a number of AIM-7E (Sparrow III) missiles at what the aircraft's crew mistakenly thought were North Vietnamese military helicopters. HMAS Hobart was significantly damaged and two crew members were killed with a number of others severely wounded. The HB F-4E-45MC's AN/APQ-120 radar detects ship and other "surface" targets. However, when the WSO is directed to lock such targets (via the Jester Wheel or Context Action Menu - I use Voice Attack) the WSO reports "no can do". However, when I move to the WSO seat I can lock a ship target and then move back to the pilot seat and fire a Sparrow (as long a the Interlock Switch is Out). The Sparrow impacts the ship target and causes damage (not much because of the poor ED ship damage model). A track showing an attack on a ship target is attached. For the Wish List - can Jester (as WSO) learn to lock ship and other surface targets please? F-4 AIM-7E Ship Attack.trk
  16. Will HB be identifying the frequency range for each Band? and whether these are IEEE or NATO designations?
  17. When the RWR detects a radar that is not in its "known radar" library it displays a U symbol . I have noticed that often the U has a number of dots inside the symbol (see attached screenshots - one displaying the unknown radar of a Grisha class corvette (one dot inside the U) and the other of the unknown radar of a Molniya class frigate (three dots inside the U symbol). What is the significance of the dots?
  18. Just checked in MP on Caucasus map and game CTD when I armed the laser (before even commencing the bomb run). Files attached. -- DYNS-DCSNZA TTI - Autum-Caucasus v2.4.1b.4a ---20240719-154154.trk dcs.log-20240719-055508.zip
  19. Just had DCS CTD on using the laser in MP (Kola map). Flying the F-18. Litening pod and 500lb laser guided bombs. Track and crash files attached. Interestingly, the crash occur as TTI for bomb reached zero. It did not crash when the laser automatically activated during the bombing sequence. Have not had this issue when flying in SP earlier today. dcs.log-20240719-052633.zip DYNS--DCSNZA TTi (Winter Kola Peninsula - West) v2.4.9b.4c --20240719-145450.trk
  20. Now we know where the Purple Rain that the artist formerly known as Prince sang about.
  21. I have been unsuccessful in reproducing the overwriting in the top left hand corner of the MFD. As I normally have three mods installed (A-4, C130 and UH-60) I have run the sortie four times - once without any mods installed and then progressively adding each mod until all three are installed. MFD operated correctly on all runs. For now, I will put it down to one of those strange DCS occurrences. If I come across it again I will be sure to capture a track and post it to the Bugs forum. Thank you.
  22. Yes, Lord Vader, you are correct - it should have read "top left corner". I will try and reproduce and then supply a track.
  23. Today when I was practicing laser bombing using the Litening Pod I noticed that onscreen text in the top right corner of the MFD was overwriting. Two screen shots attached - may need to zoom in to see the bug.
  24. Not sure why because it worked for me and others. Have you checked Tobii Game Hub to see that it is looking at the DCS folder?
