MIST/CTLD not loading at mission start Dear All, I have just started to get into this wonderful world of advanced mission building and am very excited about MIST/CTLFD/MOOSE. However, when I set up a mission in ME and use triggers to call the mist.lua and ctld.lua, they do not appear to be loading. I get an error dialog "Mission Script Error" saying things like "unexpected symbol next to '<'". This only happens when I build it myself in ME. If I download a .miz file from ED Forums or similar, the mission loads correctly. If I build my own mission from scratch, calling mist.lua from a folder on my computer (obvs), the mission will load, but within 2 seconds (TIME MORE, 2) the error messages pop up, presumably saying the mist.lua is not loaded. I have looked around a lot for help on this forum, but have not yet found a solution. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Its the same for both 1.5 and 2.05. Frustrated! M.:cry:

I found this earlier today,

In Mi8, it is visible in VR on kneeboard. I have a joystick button for the kneeboard, so I can check. Is this not true for Huey?

I think that the Caucasus map feeds into a Cold War Europe scenario recreation. Those of us that read and enjoyed Tom Clancy's "Red Storm Rising" will identify with that idea. DCS has always offered equipment from the era associated with those ideas and that technology, mostly because the specs were no longer classified, so as a study sim, it remained credible and offers a wealth of immersive detail. The Caucasus map may be showing its age but is due a massive upgrade of topographical resolution, collision modelling etc. I am looking forward to that, particularly as an Mi-8 fan, and with the promise of an Mi-24 module to come. Polychop's modules and wip are geared to the same historical scenarios too. The Normandy map will I am sure get modded for Cold War scenarios. Maybe one day we will get a Fulda Gap terrain? Nevada is more geared I think to the fast jet flyers, and Red flag missions, centred around the USA airforce training program. Its called NTTR for a reason. And it shows the beautiful potential of the EDGE engine. But its a bit flat and barren for the helicopter enthusiasts here. We (old) old-school chopper-jocks like the European scenario for that Cold War vibe I think, maybe? And want a forested, small town populated, hills and valleys, river-beds and railways, post WW2 Europe scenario. A generation that grew up with the pre-Glasnost/Perestroika fear of imminent nuclear/conventional war in Europe. Watching Deutschland '83 recently brought it all home again, reminding me of sleepless nights dreaming of surviving in a post-apocalyptic Europe.... Just my 2 pennyworth. Happy Christmas everyone! 2017 will undoubtedly bring us more DCS wonders. M.

Hi Gilles, Tres bien fait! I want to ask, are you using two DCS accounts for the 2 pilots, or 2 copies of the Gazelle on one account? I ask because, I want to try a similar idea at home, where I have 2 PCs. I am not very familiar with LAN setups, but can learn.... Main point is, do I need a copy of SA342 on a separate DCS account or can I simply buy a second copy on my own account, for the copilot? Merci en avance! Molevitch

Hi Pinefang, You have to use or create a custom Monitor config .lua file. There are literally hundreds of posts about this on the DCS forums. Search for Multi Monitor Setup Config or something. Its a lot to explore, but you will find some ready made files to grab and edit to suit your needs. You have to create your own MonitorSetup file and save it in DCS. It will then appear in the DCS system settings page as an option. Hope that helps. Molevitch:thumbup:

Hi AG, great app, now I am getting into it. Had problems at first but now running as admin, seems to be ok. I thought I would share what I have done this morning with everybody. I have always been a bit "meh" about kneeboards, because they were not on my knee.... So I thought, hmm, that old iPad is gathering dust, how do I get my kneeboard on there? So, I found an app called TwoMonAir, for a few bucks. My old iPad is 1st gen, and only runs iOs 5.1.1. So the only app that would work is the TwoMonAir. (There is a USB version but it kept failing on me. Need a refund...). So this TwoMon app has an option to run the iPad as an extension to a monitor. I am already running a wide monitor, and a touch monitor below for Helios. In my options.lua I extended the width of the main monitor by 700px. Kept main Viewport to the actual monitor size (3440 x 1440). Then in KB, it reads that the monitor is 4140 wide, and I push the Kneeboard to the top right corner, and Voila! Kneeboard on my iPad, on my knee.... Brilliant! Thanks AG!

Excellent news! I have to say that my quality of flying skills on the Huey, MI-8 and Ka-50 have all improved hugely since learning to fly the Gazelle. But I fly all of them with FFB. I have seen that a lot of DCS helo pilots use ffb sticks over the years. I find it the most immersive and credible option. My Warthog is gathering dust, though I tried it with the Gazelle the other day and it was great. But one wants to trim and have the stick stay where you put it, like in a real chopper. And Drakoz, have you looked at this thread? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.ph...87#post1372687 I don't know if PeterP is still active on these forums, but he really inspired me with the concept of modding an old MSFFB2 stick.

Any news on when we can expect FFB function in the Gazelle? I am using a modded MSFFB2 stick and simffb, but it does not feel right.... I am reluctant to rearrange my pit and revert to a sprung stick....

I deleted my user/saved game/config/input/sa342 file and started again...,.

Does a flat Earth have an horizon? What happens where the earth meets the sky in the distance? If it's flat it goes on forever, flat....

1.5 and 2.0 both fail. I am wondering now if it is something to do with export.lua for Helios.... Gonna mess with it on the weekend, but any tips gratefully received. :helpsmilie:
