  1. Its not even out yet and you already made up your mind? You should at least try it, it looks like its gonna be really great. Try it and see first, otherwise you might miss out. Peace
  2. Are you saying you honestly cant think of a reason why?
  3. LOL in MY case the guy on the left is me flying the Ka50, and the guy on the right is me TRYING to fly the Su25T.
  4. I think you misunderstood the question, he asked if the TM Warthog joystick will have twist rudder on the stick...
  5. Me me me me me!!!!!!!!!! :pilotfly:
  6. :pilotfly:
  7. Well he did write that it doesnt make much business sence to program for dx9 since its 10 years old. Is that why blizzard programmed for Starcraft II to run on dx9 only? Is that why Starcraft II sold 1.5 million copies the first 48 hours? So it seems it does make business sence to program for dx9  Im only commenting on the business sence part, nothing else, there are many other factors, like this being a modern combat flight sim and I think it makes more sence to use the best available tools, like using dx11 instead of dx9. But he did write business sence :P
  8. You dont know what you are talking about
  9. I am not using win xp. I am on vista and have a dx11 GPU. I brought up xp to make a point, ED will not want to lose that large portion of potential buyers and that is why there most likely will be a seperate dx9 exe. So even if you wont buy the fact that your dx9 graphics card will run dx11 (since dx11 is compatible with dx9 cards, minus the dx11 specific features) there will still be a backup solution for you since they would have to make it run on xp on a seperate dx9 exe. But yeah I agree with you, if you are on XP you need to upgrade your OS, but my point was they want to sell more copies, and xp user are a big market even today.
  10. According to Steam windows xp 32 bit is the most common OS (july 2010) among Steam users. Edit: Not correct. If you add both 32 and 64 win7 versions then win7 is the most common OS. Still 33% has XP.
  11. They will have to supply a second dx9 only exe for all the xp users, since dx11 requires vista or win7.
  12. I dont know if this is considered an uncorrect method to do it, but I always use flight director mode for rockets, makes it much easier. But like I said Ill let the pros comment on whether this is the correct procedure or not.. :helpsmilie: Edit: Apologies, I see now that three ppl have already mentioned flight director mode. I would still like to know if this is correct procedures however.
  13. I dont think this is true.
  14. I think what that does is let you access more of your RAM memory.
  15. I would like for the ground ai to have something like fear, cowardice, survival wish, or call it morale like others have. For example if I am flying an A10 and just killed the larger part of a convoy maybe the remaining few vehicles shouldnt keep fighting me? Maybe they should just stop moving cos the crew abandoned their vehicles and ran off? Will this be in DCS:WH? Or how realistic is this type of behaviour in RL? I always think it feels unreal how they keep fighting me when all their friends have been killed and they are next to die a horrible death..
  16. Yes thats exactly the file. It said in Necroscopes runway install readme that I should take a backup of that file, with exclamation points, but I didnt
  17. Nats it sounds to me like you want a good game with a good enough DC. I myself want a good flight simulator with a good enough DC. Maybe you will have better luck getting your wish with a company who makes games instead of flight simulators? ;)
  18. Also: Time = Money ;)
  19. I wasnt trying to be offensive, I have no clue why you would think that, maybe I need to rethink how I express myself? Anyway you wrote that its a question of time, and I just wanted to know how much time you would think was an acceptable sacrifice, for discussion purposes, nothing else LOL
  20. What if you had a lethal disease and only had a couple of years left to live?
  21. If the choice is having four DCS modules in four years BUT having to buy a new faster cpu two times during these four years VS nothing at all for four years what would you choose? Ofcourse four years is just a wild guess, it could be anything.
  22. How many years would that take? Wouldnt you much rather have a new DCS plane each year that would take? Who knows how many years it would take, three, four years? Would you exchange those three or four DCS planes for the one new engine? How much faster would that engine be anyway? Would it be worth it? Maybe if they have a seperate group working with the new engine while the larger group keeps doing the DCS modules, but does ED have these recources? I hope we will see true multicore support one day, but I dont see how that can be done without sacrificing upcoming releases.
  23. Ok, I must apologise, I thought the first runway mod I installed was also yours, so it must have been very confusing :) Im very sorry, but just now I double checked and yeah, its not you who made the first one, its Necroscope, I got it from lockonfiles, and it has files to put in temptextures and one file to put in onlay. This runway skin works with no problem and it was non modman. But when I try to install yours, it wont show up ingame no matter if I remove the old Necroscope runway or not, I have tried every combination I could think of. The most probable is that I have broken something, right? I guess a clean install would fix this, unless anyone knows what else I should do, because right now I dont have the energy for a reinstall. (is there a way to keep your pilot and keymappings?) Anyway I still hope there is an easy fix :) Thanks for the help and sorry for the confusion! Edit: I have read the readme again and I see now what the problem is, I should have taken a backup of that onlay file, which I didnt do! @"¤/"{${!!!
  24. Haha cool thread!
