God it felt good to see a screenshot of this. Looking forward to seeing more!

Tested. Yet again, great progress. The cloud formations look great, the performance is excellent, and you seem to have gotten rid of the "rivers glaring through" the clouds as well. Superb! The only remaining thing now is the jagginess around aircraft edges when having the clouds as background (That is for my gtx 970) will upload screens tomorrow:) Great work!

How to punch coordnates
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign (legacy version)
Yeah- I managed the mission, but I had some radio issues, so need to read up on that asap. Setting the basics are easy enough- but there is a bit of back and forthing between frequencies and stuff which is great and gives me something new to learn:) -
To vet a-10 drivers this may seem like a stupid question- but I am trying to work out how to set up wypoints on the fly. In the 3rd (?) mission, I am patrolling and given these coordinates to check out: 38T LN 1373 3835 Now, I am assuming these are UTM coordinates and followed this guide http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68946 Using this, the CDU accepts the information (Except I have no idea where to punch in 38t or what that means), so I punch in "LN13723835", and set the WP name as "TGT". The waypoin itself is created, but way the hell of the map:P Obviously I am missing something basic here- if anyone can point me in a direction to learn this step by step, please do:) EDIT: I think I have worked it out! THe 38T is the grid, which also has to be punched in in order for it to work:D Anyways- great campaign so far! The A-10 is quite a handful for us newbies, but it is fun figuring stuff like this out.

....and maybe a hint at the new procedural grass?:D I might read a bit to much into it:)

I have GTX 970 and get 40-60+ FPS all of a sudden. Testet this a month ago and got 10-15. Either something happened with the latest Nvidia driver, or with the DCS code.

Caucasus Terrain dilemma
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Mowgli's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I think Barthek is great for low altitude, Starway has the best forests and villages, but I personally think that Mustangs 104th is the best all round by quite a large margin in fact. I think it has the best general colour tone, the best blending and the best compromise to work well from all altitudes. Off course, some of Starways great earlier work is included in Mustangs mash up, so he deseves som credit for this as well. All in all, they are all good, but it depends how and when you want to use them. -
Mustang: What parameters do you use to get those small, puffy clouds? I tried messing around with the setting sliders, but no matter what I selected the clouds are huge and create near overcast conditions:) I use the clouds from the 104th package, and no matter what density I chose (Except from 9 and 10- that are total overcast) I get this result: The good news is that it is VERY performance friendly even on my gtx 970 EDIT: Got it working when using the files from earlier in this thread:D

As an Nividia user I can confirm that I use to get a slideshow with these clouds and suddenly it works like a charm. Something has changed somewhere:)

External zoom in/out slow Almost all the way down in the controls settings.

I like the texture pack, but there is still room for a little t improvement. This is my subjective opinion, so don't get all angry if you disagree. Just trying to be contructive, The mountain texture has a big patch of shadow that is very visible and become repetitious. The noise_1 base texture looks good from medium altitude but I find it a bit blurry at lower altitude and golf-course plain at higher altitude. This is the toughest nut to crack, but both the latest Bartek and Mustang have found good compromises (Off course- it can never be perfect, given the mesh) There WILL be repetiotion, given the overuse of the texture in the mesh- so its all about compromise. Some aifields also seemed to stand out/not blend so well (Kholki f.ex) The towns, cities, and forests are wonderful. As is the far textures, the colouring tone and the cultivated fields. All in all- a lovely addon with some room for improvement.

Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway

I voted not sure, but I would like to see more of it. The video Wags posted are nice, but not full HD. I'd also like to see it from various altitudes. I have no doubt that I eventually will get it though. 10 bucks is just a formailty. I spent the same yesterday on a McDonalds for a sweaty burger.
