v126 What is 'Save Profile' Sposed To Do?
Fifi replied to Wrecking Crew's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
 Isn't the save game folder supposed to be untouched by updates?? -
Hi, Was wondering if the tail radar system was working on this module. It seems a wonderful and very helpful feature basically. Finally tested it in the 1VS1 mission, and it seems at first it was working nice...but after a while, the radar light and sound was on even when ennemy plane was in front of me...and it ended constantly biping and lightning. So had to turn it off :( Is it a bug or something? (don't recall beeing hitted in the tail)

After testing FPS ingame, strangely i don't have any impact between MSAAX8Q and X16Q! So i keep 16Q of course. But biggest FPS impact is TSSAA. Huge FPS lost using it. So i keep it off, and furthermore not that much of eye candy lost here...no jaggy lines, and clear image.

Quick beginner taildragger tips for dogfighting!
Fifi replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Thank you guys for this clarification  Always something to learn. Other thing i learned the other day about engine heat: Was surprised that hitting radiator open button didn't cooled my engine...and in fact was even worst! What i didn't know is in fact, there is a spring on that button that make it come back to CLOSE as soon as you release the OPEN button. So i have to HOLD the OPEN button for at least 20 seconds to fully open the radiator! Then temperature is really dropping fast even full RPM and full manifold and even low levels flight where the engine heat the most :) Same goes for the oil temperature and oil radiator... Reading carefully this stunning manual that comes with the module is really helpful too! :D -
Was just talking about the very first 5 seconds of a flight where the camera zoom backward. Perso i can't fly with full FOV out, and i don't like to see all gauges at once (first because it's unrealistic view, second because with my high reso i just can't read them, they are too small) I find it annoying because i couldn't stop the process. But as someone said above, i'll try to press my zoom button to stop it...didn't know it can work. I'd be curious to know why the devs implemented this weird starting feature!
-
Hi, One thing (probably the only one) i find very annoying in DCS, is the camera FOV decreasing when entering plane. And no way to skip it...even pressing my default view button doesn't stop it. Starting cold on deck, it's ok, but starting in the air close to action is very annoying! Anyway to delete this camera backward mouvment? I'd like to enter my plane directly with my FOV settings (using PeterP neck mod).

Humm...yes, they did a good job trying to clear it, but even after TF4 it's still so away from DCS P51 standarts i have hard time playing it...

Hi, So if we missed the kickstarter date, is there still any way to pre-purchase this sim, and eventually add our money to this awesome project to help? ...or is it definitely closed untill official release?

Fifi replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
^^Ok, yes  But reading manual: So reducing RPM from red line (3000) to 1800 should change the prop pitch angle, right? And with a 23° prop pitch angle, the plane should "tow" more and go faster than with a 65° prop pitch, or is it the inverse? EDIT: haha...it's the inverse! -
Nope. I'm not MP player, i live too far from everywhere :D Didn't even know DCS MP had troubles. Hoping for you they'can improve it. Was on MP some time ago with other sim...and it was pretty bad too. Guess it's a typical MP problem having hard time to handle too complex simulations. But perso, focusing only on SP, i'm very satisfied with current DCS.

Aaah, that is excellent news! But of what i've readed, it could be possible for them to extend the map to the South England...if they get enough money i think. That would be great.

...and really hard waiting for DCS WW2 Europe 1944 release :gun_rifle: Tons of fun flying the P51 alone actually, though, but really missing a WW2 accurate environment...and other same area planes. I tend to believe it's gonna be the ultimate WW2 sim, the must have of all ever, if everything matches what has been done with DCS P51 module (manual included) Not to say if DCS WW2 can run as smooth as DCS actually on my rig! Don't you think it could be the best ever WW2 flight sim? Really wish and hope it will get a good single player career mode too. I'm just afraid that the future map will be a little short (of what i've readed)... I just can't believe they could release this stunning detailed simulation level for late 2014. Is it really for late 2014? :D

Now a bit lost on that thing... Reducing Prop RPM in dives doesn't reduce my speed (on the gauge anyway) but doesn't seem to significantly increase it either... But reducing RPM in dogfights while diving should lower the temp gauge a bit for a time (having a nasty tendancy to pass red line if not careful), hence preserving engine IMO. -
Yes it does. In example here, you can see modules updated as well as DCS World http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1892527&postcount=2 But not all modules are updated... only when an update is avalaible for them of course!

+1 I would buy it for sure  (in fact i would buy anything from DCS and Co)

Fifi replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Finally managed to kill my first AI in 1VS1...pfff...took me long! I realised i had curves mapped to my joystick (didn't remember that!) and deleting them gave me more precision and fast responses...stupid me. And watching few videos around the web helped me in fact. I don't mess anymore with manifold and RPM, i let them almost max, just before the red line all the fight. Coolant set on auto does the job quite fine without blowing up engine. Only in dives i can reduce propeller RPM to get more speed if needed. But getting this little bastard doesn't take 5 minutes short :D -
So confused..Newbie needs advice please
Fifi replied to Windmill's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Strange. At first launch my TM Warthog was recognised and already plenty fonctions assigned/mapped. Anyway it's very easy to map anything in DCS. Get the DCS World manual here http://www.mediafire.com/download/g8gjszonxzpdrv7/DCS_User_Manual_EN.zip it's very well explained  -
Wasn't able to test it yet, but now it's done... I'm no A10C expert in any way, and don't know wich one is real or fake sound, but i too prefer the stock sounds even though the mod is given for the real one... Only a 10C specialist could tell me wich one is closer :D The gun echoe from cockpit sounds unreal to me.

Cool ...and pit looks much better IMO! Very nice weathering.

Yes, use JSGME for any mod you want to run. Best tool around without messing up original game files, and before/after any update, just deactivating/reactivating them in one second  Be aware DCS has already a mod folder included (nothing to do with JSGME though) so you'll have to name your JSGME MODS folder with other name (i.e JSGME_mod) and drop your mods in it. Just be sure of the mod complete path inside to match DCS folders path.

Combined Development Update - November 1, 2013
Fifi replied to luthier1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Wow :surprise: If this new sim is drawn on the actual DCS P51 standart (and i'm sure it will), it's going to atomize all others sims for a long time!! Nice screens  Can't wait to take this P47 for a ride :D PS: looking at your scenary shots, if i may make an observation: Is that French houses in Normandy? If so, the roofs should be all red tiles, with few black ones (slate made). But no grey/blue ones IMO. Just a small observation from an old Frenchy :D... -
[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Fifi replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Same here, WinZip works very good to unzip any files, even the Rar ones. Already had problems with inverse... -
Don't know what cause your trouble. But as last soluce if you can't solve it, you might try Ricardo cocpit for A10C (Horse of War)...it's high def pit, and i'm sure you'll be satisfied! I use it, and have to say it's a wonderful mod  http://www.lockonfiles.com/files/file/2566-ricardos-horse-of-war/

Correct :)
