No, i still have central position trimmer enabled...just desabling rudder trimmer gives me more active stick response. That's a bit strange. EDIT: after few tests with rudder trimmer on and off, i can't see anymore any difference. Crap! That's probably me then...sorry about that.
-
Hi, Don't know if it's me, but i desabled rudder trimmer and now my cyclic is responding much better...meaning i don't feel anymore that kind of delay in the stick when giving inputs... Could it be a rudder trimmer problem? I know rudder has nothing to do with cyclic, but...

I see AH-64D Longbow has the most votes...to me it's an other Black Shark kind of, nothing new. I voted "other", cause my helicopter wish isn't listed here (and sadly will never be). It's a French one very well known, multi-tasks in the army, police, life guard etc...still used but not build anymore. Very agile and probably great fun to fly, without all that technology we can see aboard Black Sharks and other Apaches. Though it can carry guided missiles anti-tanks. I name it: Aerospatiale SA342M Gazelle ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTHL15qdWPg

Reading this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109925 and watching carefully Peter's vid, i learn some new stuff  Now each slow down time i reach 30 Knots i give some collective up to anticipate the fall down, and it works wonderfully. Furthermore i don't trim anymore, and just had my best fun flight ever with the Huey :) Just have to memorize my joystick/rudder position for hovering as soon as i feel it coming/happening. Not the same story with the MI8 though!

Thanks for this info  Wow, very interesting and good to know.
-
Hum...i missed something...how do you record a flight with DCS please? I'm interested to play back tracks to see my errors :)

After 2 weeks of intense DCS flying (and crashing :music_whistling:), i can say without a doubt this is by far the best simulation i've ever flown  (Never tried FSX though) Not only stunning flight model, but also wonderful graphics (i have the chance to run it 2560x1440 on big screen almost max settings) and immersive environment. This simulation reconciled me with modern planes area!...and i even wouldn't mind if some day ED will release civilian planes :D I didn't hit campaign button yet (so many things to learn and master still), so can't say about DCS career mode, but i guess it's probably a reference too. Anyway, just taking those birds for a ride around is a stunning joy each time. Furthermore the mission editor is so well done and easy to handle, we can set endless flights in any conditions! Only one little thing to me, that ED could improve though (of what i experienced so far): the damage model. I.e when crashing...or when a wing touch the ground.

Realised i didn't had the central trimmer position mode enabled. Now it"s much better with it :) I deleted all my curves for the Huey, and i finally prefer this way with the TM Warthog. Landing on a small spot is still very hard, it will take ages before i can (i.e like the oil dock), but i can manage landing on building roof after few tries so far. And landing on airfield, or large spaces = no prob.

Thanks Pizzicato for your input  I love this bird (as MI8 and BS too) and i'll definitely stick to it!
-
Hi fellow pilots, - Having some troubles setting curves mainly to tune down cyclic pitch and collective because it's very sensible, would you mind sharing your personal curves, if any? For info, i'm using a TM Warthog...is it best without curves, or slightly adjusted, and what kind of curves? - Also, each time i hit my trim button, do i have to move back joystick to center it very quickly, because it seems the Huey can have weird reactions...

Found out the best tutorial video so far for BS2 cold start. Very well details explained, very understandable for non English natives, but quite long tough (7 videos). Learned PLENTY things:
-
Ah, yeah, thanks...probably the second one (because first one always do it) Humm...i followed the cold start tutorial by BigfootMSR (very nicely done BTW) I can start the beast, but don't have any weapon powered. So might be as said St3v3f. Thanks for the vid!

It's a no go...i hit wheel brake before mouving cyclic but my brakes are still on  Only way so far i found, is to give some collective up (to kind of lightnen the weight) and then the chopper is rolling! AFAIK, it's not mapped to an axis ZaltysZ. I'll check though... Other weird thing i encounter: When i set a mission with ME, i give my BS weapons...but EACH time i cold start (from parking) i'm unable to use them! (they don't even light on frontal board even with the main switch "arm on") When i set my BS warm (on the take off track), all is fine and they are lighted on frontal board. What did i missed on my cold start, to have the weapons active?
-
Ahh...thanks, will try it and report. That's not very obvious at first, though! I tried to find a release park brake, but there is any...lol
-
Hi, Just stuck on this stupid issue: i can't roll my BS!! :joystick: I checked in options, there is" park brake" and "wheel brake". i've mapped the "park brake" to an other key, but when i want to roll the BS, i hit my new key...and he is glued (even cyclic forward) static. Even stock key seems to not work. I'm sure i'm missing something but can't find out! Any help for this stupid issue is welcome  (others choppers works fine)
-
Really essentials fantastic tools  One little thing though, for non English natives like me...sometimes instructions are too fast, and by the time i have readed, translated and understood, texts are gone. The speaking voice is also very fast...not easy for foreigners :D Again thanks for this hard work.
-
Voted yes, i like it very much! I own now the 3 DCS helicopters, learning lately the BS2, but have to say the MI8 is so far my favourit :) At first, i was afraid of all those buttons and switches everywhere, thinking i'll never know how to start it and fly it... Now after few days of learning (and because of awesome Bimsiltec tutos) i can start it from cold, fly it quite nicely, and use all weapons  To me, the BS2 is far more easy to fly, but all the electronic stuff way more complex for my little brain!

How does the orginal Lock On interface with DCS?
Fifi replied to Klunker's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Any place to buy the Lock On Modern Air Combat download version? -
I have downloaded the PeterP's main menu integration, and followed all in the read me...but still unable to get the training missions appear ingame  The files are .miz, i renamed the old Ka-50 training folder, i gave the right path from my JSGME ---> nothing to see ingame! (my others mods are working fine though) :helpsmilie: EDIT: ok, it works when i copy/past the training folder directly in DCS, but doesn't work with my JSGME...something must be wrong with the path. MANY THANKS to this mod creaters. Without, i wouldn't be able to cold start the BS! Very well done.

Strangely, i can fly the Camel on linear curve without much trouble (FFB stick or not), but the DR1 always gives me very hard times... Back on topic, it was 25T VS 25A...not 25T VS A10...wich is not comparing apples to oranges :D

The slow'n'low mod IS indeed a good improvment!! (also i have adjusted the High.lua =7.0 as explained in the link) ---> Now, that makes me think something is missing for a nice terrain rendering: is there any mod that tweak DCS river's water rendering? (making it more "alive" - not like lake dead water) Just because it stays too static, as in every other simulations i flown BTW...
-
Ohh...many thanks for those links Seikdel! Gonna try this Low N slow very soon!...and probably try Devrim's upgrade for Ricardo too.
-
Ok  That's nice to hear...was afraid of obligation to buy previous versions. Thanks for clearing this point.
-
Hi Biggles! Nice to read you again, mate! Yes, flight simmers is a "small" community :) And thanks for your kind words  That's actually my main problem: remembering all the fonctions/features! :) It's gonna take years!! lol

Hi again, Newbees always asking for help, sorry in advance :D I have few more questions... About mods: - what is/are the must have mods for improving DCS world terrain/buildings without too much FPS impact? (working with latest update of course!) I already tried DCS Enhanced Terrain V1.1, but it's not good for my taste flying helicopters...should be very nice for flying jets though. - I've heard about Ricardo pits mod... Is Ricardo cockpits mod really worth it? If so, where can i find latest version? About Black Shark 2: - Do i really need previous versions, or can i just buy and download BS2 module from the store and run it? This one is a bit confusing to me... Thanks in advance for your answers
