Ahhh...FINALLY managed to run DCS with SweetFX inside JSGME :) Results is quite incredible nice change. Colors are more vivid, nicely closing to real life ones, more depth of field as well, giving a more natural view, and a contrast enhanced probably helping in spotting objects... Here on my Samsung 28" LED screen 2560x1440, image is cristal clear now! (and not using any Nvidia adjustments!) For whoever want to try my settings.text, here it is: SweetFX_settings.txt

Well, manoeuvrability...obviously useful in combat situations. Huey is more agile in every aspects ;)
-
Yeah, the only curve probably needed is for P51 rudder, due to those "not that good" pedals (using Saitek here) Maybe one day i'll invest in MFG crosswind rudder pedals!

our beloved Pony-will it get even better?
Fifi replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
That's good news! Even though it's so close to perfection to me, it's great you are still fine tuning this master piece! -
Was about to link the same... Best reference i've seen so far! And what a reference.
-
I would say you have to open the mission in ME, and check your skin in the loadout tab. Then save it.
-
OOOh...excellent! I missed this one too :)
-
That's good news  As far as the voice doesn't speak too fast, is clear using simple words and with no heavy accent, it's perfect for us non English natives ;)
-
Excellent mod to give more settings controls  Found best settings for my PC on very high visi + trees rendering 9Km. Enough FPS low level, and better rendering than stock game. That's a good thing to be able to fine tune environment in regard of each PC!
-
Ok, but wasn't pointing specialy at DCS for the shimmering stuff in the list above :) I'm more than enough satisfied with DCS global graphical factor on my rig. That's not the case for some others simulations.

^^ Isn't any FW 190 in the works too?...didn't they plan to release it before Europe 1944?
-
I can feel they really want to make the best ever ultimate WW2 simulation with Europe 1944...and that would be a stupid error from them to release a botched campaign within such high standarts IMO! I even wouldn't mind to pay a bit more for a very good dynamic campaign  SP is by far the most played around the world, as always, so they can't forget and bypass this fact...if of course they really want to be THE future reference. Anyway, thinking about it, there aren't hundreds factors for a stunning simulation to me. - Very accurate FM - Full fonctional cockpit - Accurate DM - Nice accurate map (large might be better) - Enough environmental objects for immersion - Good AIs flying with same player restrictions - Good career/campaign if possible dynamic (some non dynamic can be very good too) - Accurate sounds for all that can be heard - Decent average FPS including no shimmers and good antialiasing You miss one of those points, you miss THE stunning simulation in my opinion! And still nowadays, no one flight simulation - that i've tried - reached all those 9 essentials points together. Very very few were pretty close, and DCS is probably the closest. That's why i believe the DCS conceptors have the best points to reach the Graal :) Hear hear devs, and fingers crossed!

Newbie looking for a little help on what to buy
Fifi replied to Stahlwille's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
...you forget about the P51 :D Fantastic ride very accurate in all means. Best warbird simulation i've ever flown. It really deserve special attention for all WW2 plane lovers! Ok, it doesn't fit within current map, and no real campaign, but a good way to train for future WW2 Europe 1944 ;) -
Newbie looking for a little help on what to buy
Fifi replied to Stahlwille's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Highly depending where your interest is :) Perso, my interest was to learn full complete fonctional cockpits as the real ones, and high fidelity flying model, so that's why i prefer A10C/P51/Huey/MI8/Black Shark. Nevertheless, have some fun with SU25A Frogfoot, but...I'm missing full fonctional cockpit. Highly hoping it will level upgrade some day :smilewink: But if your interest is just for fun, any module is nice. -
Ah, that's good to know, so only 2 of the 3 files of old download. Thanks
-
If it is this step making you trouble: 1) right clic the folder you want to allow all rights (i.e a skin folder but here i took whatever to show)) 2) choose security tab 3) choose any lines of users to modify (highlighted in blue) 4) clic modify 5) check all boxes (N°4) 6) clic apply 7) re-do for other users (in blue)
-
Sorry you lost your files, Tom :( ...but i don't think it's due to my poor English explanations... Furthermore i don't see how to explain you better in English
-
Tom, you have first to open property of the file, and clic modify to give you all rights to make any changes (check for all users sub categories). When you get your new mod created folder with all the P51 skins folders inside (i.e taken from World/Bazar\Liveries\P-51D) you can add the 3 pilot dds files (of this pilot texture mod) in each one you want, then open with notepad++ the description lua file that is inside each skin folder, and modify it as Whiplash explained above  What i did is allow, in property of each skin folder, to make all changes.
-
Very good explanation Whiplash. I even used JSGME for this mod. Just created a new mod folder and named it (i.e P51 skins), then copied/pasted all the planes skins i downloaded from the web, then added more DCS stock skins i wanted to see with this pilot texture mod, did what you explained just above, activated the mod on top of all my others, and voila! This way, no update deleting files
-
+1  Best would be of course dynamic one, with changing results depending how well we did, but well...even as far as each mission will never be the same one, i'd be happy :)
-
Perfect Whiplash. Looks much better now

In last place, you always can try a DCS repair via the launcher...
-
Comm menu should pop up in both easy or not easy communication option, but have you tried to switch from each other option? I don't see what could cause your issue, but certainly other wise guy over here will do and help you.

On the project map, before D Day no airfield to take off from? (if no England...)
-
I see...not very intuitive/user friendly for the least...! Thanks anyway Eno!
