Does somebody want to visit the MAKS in 2009 ? Maybe someone from Germany or western Europe? http://www.aviasalon.com/en/ It would be a very long and expensive trip for me but I hope I can go there in 09... I want to see some of my favorites in reallife :-) I think Kamov and Mil will be there, too.

I'm using the rudders and I donnot wanna miss 'em! And if you can buy the rudder paddels you should be able to buy a USB-Card for 15$, too ... ;) I use a lot of USB devices... TIR + TrackClip, Mouse, Keyboard, X52pro, Rudders, 2 printers, 1 Scanner, iPhone and even one free port for sticks etc. USB is specified for 128 devices so.... let's go connecting ... :)

Check your controls. I use a X52pro and I cannot control the Shark with the default axis setting.... After I set the axis as it should be... Flying goes much easier ;) If you cannot handle it read some books about choppers - the way they fly (if you can call it "flying" ;)) is much different than planes... :)

I still got a problem with the multi monitor support... I'm running DCS in Window mode on two screens. This setting works: Monitor Setup: Left: 1280x1024 Right: 1280x1024 options.lua: ["height"] = 1024, ["resolution"] = "3840x1024", res = 3 times 1280 ["civTraffic"] = 1, ["width"] = 3840, 2monitortest.lua: Description = '2MonitorTest' Viewports = { Center = { x = 1280; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 16/10; } } ABRIS = { x = 2560; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; } Up to now I understand. But if I change the LEFT monitor to his native res of 1680x1050 I get a damaged screen (you cannot read anything). If've changed the overall resolution to 4240 (2x 1280 + 1650) but It won't work. Any other ideas ?

ED will not support FreeTrack in the western release of DCS:BS so I think he want to know how much other people use FreeTrack instead of TIR4. I use, btw, TIR4 and I'm very happy with it.

I've got the RUS version and I will buy a boxed western after the release. And of course a printed german manual and maybe a english, too

Yesterday I took a first look an the Multimonitor support of DCS. My hardware: Monitor Left - for Shkval - 1280x1024 Monitor Right - for camera - 1680x1050 I think I will have to modify the x and y axes in the LUA file. Will this be possible? (maybe I will loose 26pixel of my camera because the main monitor is higher than the shkval) My problem yesterday was that DCS do not support really 2 monitors - DCS do this in the same way like Tripplehead2go - they only create one hugh monitor. I will do some more testings this night. :-)

So you have to wait until the final release. Everything looks like that this will happen in the beginning of 2009 .... Maybe in the end of january? It's hard work to translate all the GUI, Mission and manuals to several languages and ED want to release the western versions in the same time (english, german, french and some more I think).

Hi, I'm really going mad with this... I use a Saitek X52pro, the Rudders and a Saitek Gaming Keyboard. SST and drivers for X52pro + Rudders are installed - no profile set. The joystick works fine in DCS but without the throttle (collective) and without the paddels (the rudder is on the stick, too). I cannot find the axis controls in the control options of DCS and the english GUI manual do not help me for this. :( Here's a screenshot: HAPTP.OCN is AXIS TUNE, right? Why I cannot select it ? :joystick: I can use my joystick buttons without any problems but I cannot assign the axis. If it don't work check if the MD5 checksum is correct (maybe the CAB file is incorrect).

I agree to Groove, it's absolute nonsense to blame the UAC and normally you do not have to disable it. I installed BS yesterday a second time with UAC enabled and it worked like all other software else. UAC normally do not have affect on installations - if a setup needs admin the UAC asks the user and after clicking 'yes' we're back in business like without UAC. One "problem" of Vista is the folder virtualization for example c:\program files and you may get problems with copy protections if you install games in there. But this is a neverending story - if you don't like UAC - disable it. If you don't like Microsoft as well, go and install Linux or buy a Mac ...... Oh no DCS there? Bad news :D Hey mods, feel free to close this thread or we've to go back to topic. :-)

Reinstalled with active UAC and active Aero - running fine now. one problem left: I cannot configure the axis of my X52pro. If I try to add the thuddle as collective I can only select JOY_BTN's but no axis. Any ideas? :/

no I've installed it do d:\games\dcs not in the root.

BS is the first software with massive UAC problems for me. So don't blame Microsoft - the UAC is the right way for the future and every developer should take care of it. my opionion. now I will try to get my Shark fly :-)

after installing without UAC it works... .-) problem solved...

Ok I checked the MD5 sum ... files are ok. I will disable UAC and reinstall with admin rights.

Hi, after installation of DCS:BS I donot get any Desktop or Startmenu icons... So I tried to launch the DCS.exe manually but nothing happens... Any ideas? Activition was without problems. I tried to reinstall BS, too. Vista Ultimate x86 German with Russian MUI pack installed Maybe a problem with unicode? After changing to the russian MUI the setup was still unreadable for me :/ :cry: thanks.

I also think to visit the LLTM this year. I want to see BS and what Tobit did to the VirtualAero... :music_whistling: :pilotfly:
