Is there a way to disable that blue crosshairs when not needed? There was once a time where it only appeared after a click and then disappeared again... Imho the better way instead of having it floating in front of you all the time.

Nice! Thanks for sharing

Haha welcome to the club! Read all the posts and it really never gets old when someone switches to VR. Hooked myself since I have the Rift it's just pure flightsim awesomness 8) Had a few sorties today with my beloved Dw190 - I do a tour on the Nevada Map flying SW to NO, checking out the terrain and make some dogfights here and there. So stoked for the Normandy map to come. Cheers

Request: Disable "zoom-in" effect when using Zoom in VR
JG4_Sputnik replied to Istari6's topic in Virtual Reality
+1 same here, I think the zoom now is not good for VR -

Same here... was able to finish 8.2 without comms (just rocket'd the hell out of that trainyard without cover) but now on 8.3 I have no comms and there are 4 F16 on the runway not taking off. Also when I want to land, they tell me to "go to alternate" - have no idea what happened. Anyway, I can't finish the mission and therefore I'm down to 74% success rate which sucks and I think ED has to buy me a beer for making it up ;-) I think I have to wait for the patch, good to hear that I'm not the only one. So the mission for today seems off, I might take the Spit for a spin tonight :) -
How to push starter and booster at the same time?
JG4_Sputnik replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Thanks :) Well I thought it might be possible with the mouse only since I fly in VR. But then I will map the keys accordingly. Just hat mi first take off followed by a "perfect" landing (which means I didn't die). Such a great plane! -
Hi! this is a really amazing plane! However I feel that it might be a little too agile (considering we simers only have a small stick and not a 1:1). Anyways, for the startup one needs to push the starter and booster at the same time, but how is that possible only with the mouse...? Thanks for the help, cheers

Kneeboard Problem: can't turn pages
JG4_Sputnik replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
Hi thanks for the response. Yes it happens also outside of the campaign. Also in 2.0 alpha. I had the same problem with the Mig15 as well. Now i did a "repair DCS" and now I can turn pages in one direction at least. But it might be a Bug on the plane itself rather than your campaign since other players also have it. Your campaign is the best btw, I have had such a great time in mission 6 (where you have to fly by your instruments to find the runway) and of course mission 7! The best fun I've had in a flight sim since 10 years - of course it has to do with VR as well, but it's just a perfect match with your campaign. Such a great immersion with all the voice overs, story and maps, really great job!!! Cheers -
Try to run "repair DCS" and then it might work. Well I at least can turn pages in ONE direction now...

From which folder does DCS load the Kneeboard/Map from?
JG4_Sputnik replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in DCS 2.9
Thank you, it partially worked - the Mig15 now is fine but the F86 I only can flip forwards and not backwards. The actual kneeboard on the knee however still is not there. But alas, its good enough to carry on. Thanks! -
From which folder does DCS load the Kneeboard/Map from?
JG4_Sputnik replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in DCS 2.9
Thanks, I will try that. Is an addon campaign considered as "mod"? I'm in the middle of the "Museum Relic" campaign and don't want to loose progress. -
Hi! My problem is that the F-86 and Mig15bis (only those two) don't have a kneeboard/map anymore. The spot on the pilots knee where the map is suppose to be is empty - also when I open the kneeboard I only have the yellow notepad but can not turn pages. So i figure DCS doesnt load the map properly? - I have the "Museum Relic" campaign - I have played around with the DCS kneeboard builder a while ago. Had some errors and let it be. Maybe that messed up something? I can't remember what triggered it. I'm a little desperate since I don't know what to do, has anybody a suggestion how to fix that? It happens with 1.5. and 2.0 alpha and only with those planes...? Is there something like a "reset" of the map? Or a folder from an other plane I could copy? Thanks for your help, Sputnik

Hi, it works with every other aircraft, but in the F86 I can not turn the kneeboard pages whatsoever. Also the kneeboard doesn't show up on the pilot's leg once he is enabled. There's only an empty black case and a pen. I have the "Museum Relic" campaign enabled, don't know if this is relevant. But I don't have any other campaigns and in other planes, it works. And now on missino 8 I desperately need it... Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I fly only in VR since I got my OR a few months ago. And its a blast! But: - I don't know why, but I can't turn pages on the kneeboard anymore. Neither joystick buttons work when assigned nor do keyboard keys... It is just always the yellow notepad with all the info but that's it. - And I can only open the keyboard in a new window, on my "actual knee" in the sim there's only an empty black space where the map is supose to be. Does this work for you guys in VR? - Also a question: what is "new page" button for? What can I do with a new page at all? Any ideas about those problems? Thanks in advance! Cheers

(Unable to reproduce) I think VR Aircraft Scale is Off
JG4_Sputnik replied to mytai01's topic in VR Bugs
Yup, same here... everything feels about 1/4th too small. In war thunder it feels bigger and about right. Why not make a world scale slider like in FSX? So you can adjust it for your liking. -
For me, the planes also feel to small unfortunately. When I sit in a cockpit in War Thunder it feels more realistic in size. I hope ED will code in an option where you can set up world size. Like FSX has - should not be that hard to program...

How to experience almost every WW2 fighter cockpits in VR
JG4_Sputnik replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in Virtual Reality
I think they are good enough. Maybe here and there some gauges, but overall pretty ok. -
- Download War Thunder - In the plane selection screen, klick on a „premium“ plane (golden) - Hit „test flight“ Here you go! Dozens of planes to go through! I've spend several hours just to go through each and every one. Needs a bit of time though since you have to make an account. But there are almost every ww2 fighters in there to test flight, and since you own a VR headset you will know that it can be simply breath taking just to experience a cockpit in it’s real size and space. You can also fly around and shot and even land on carriers. The FM is pretty bad though. But it’s so much fun to just check out the different cockpits! My favorites: - Japanese Ki-43 Zero, the guns are sticking right out of your cockpit, lots of bars that block your view, rally cosy... - Russian Pe-2, WOW what a view! You can look through your glass nose and you feel like sitting in a tall building! Amazing flight over Stalingrad - German Me-110, wingspan! - Switch between a Me109 and a P-47 - how much more space you have in a Thunderbolt its amazing! Oh, and just hop in an American Corsair F-5 and look down between your feet. Never ever noticed that you sit so… well, check it out yourself ;) 2nd Oh, I’ve noticed that all of the cockpits feel a bit bigger than they are in DCS, and I have to say it looks a bit more realistic that way, I think the DCS’s are a bit too tiny imho. Its really great! Can’t recommend it enough :) Cheers

Hmm here DCS is as sharp/blurry as every other VR game I have. Do you have 4xSAA (or what it's called) on? It has the biggest impact on the sharpness I think.
-
I still don't think this device is going to help DCS much. It may be cool to flip leavers but for actual flying I think one is better suited with an actual flight stick...?
