  1. THX for the comment grafspee. You are right, my energy (speed) advantage was not decisively higher... After the pass, I intended to very slightly climb while maintaining speed and possibly try to repeat attack. Bad decision on my side bacause I underestimate climbing power of DaimlerBenz :-)
  2. For quick view I uploaded video from TackView as well:
  3. I would like to ask some experienced Mustang pilots to see this track from 14:56:00. I (P-51 Tapi) attacked Bf 109K with speed and height advantage and though I tried to maintain speed after the attack, the 109 pilot (human) turned sharp and climbed like hell and in a few seconds gained the same speed as me... I finally saved my ass diving and speeding with WEP... I know the 109K climbs like a rocket but it seems to even gain speed while climbing? It seems to me that the only solution is immediately after the first pass go away and do not try to repeat the attack in any way... What would you recommend me to do better next time in a similar situation (if I fly without wingman)? Any tip welcomed. Track: HERE
  4. Hi dscamp, I have very similar PC spec to yours as well as G-sync 120Hz ultrawide LCD with the same specs LCD Alienware aw3418dw. I play DCS at the same settings as you at 60 FPS without stuttering. Using TrackIR is smooth but I see unpleasant ghosting (or let's say visible lagging) while the scene is moving due to the low FPS. My eyes tolerate 80+ FPS but 60 is too low for me and causes eyestrain for me... I tried different levels of smoothing in TrackIR and higher TrackIR speed (speed 1.5+ helps a little) but I am still not satisfied. I can set a limit to 80 FPS via RivaTuner (and most of the time game manage to hold it) and then visible ghosting is gone but then using trackIR is not so smooth but a little jerky (stuttery) which is annoying. That is known TrackIR issue - see HERE Do you notice ghosting? Maybe the visible ghosting is caused by slower IPS technology (comparing to TN)? I would like to play at 80 FPS but it is apparently not possible due to TrackIR low frequency causing stutters. Steady 120FPS IMHO would not be possible in the near future even with new 3080Ti cards, so I am a little bit stuck how to get fluent scene without ghosting and stuttering while using TrackIR... Also, I did not succeed to found out any other 6DOF solution on the market that is not bound exclusively to 60/120Hz (EDTracker is good but unfortunately it is only 3DOF) Any tips welcomed :-)
  5. With today's update 2.5.6.43931 VAICOM shows repeatedly comm menu. It is not triggered by my own spoken command. May be the comm menu is triggered by activated chatter in the background...
  6. Great. Thanks Reflected for your willingness to improve your great campaigns.
  7. I can confirm this - cockpit red and green lights need to tone down a bit.
  8. THX, disable Wake turbulence helped a lot. Meeting Big boys do not cause drops below 60 FPS now. Attacks of the luftwaffe and massive pay back shooting from B-17 gunners causes FPS drops to 20-25 though and dropping bombs even more (10-15 FPS). But fortunately that not last for a long time so I can say the missions are playable now... My suggestion: maybe a restriction of the number of active B-17 gunners (if possible) would help to the better performance in the heat of the battle.
  9. THX Hollywood, works fine now!
  10. Well, I tried to set Water to Medium. Reflections are mostly gone but: 1. Water is not as nice as was on high 2. There are artifacts and stright boundaries on the water surface 3. Some reflection on weird places remains See attachments That is why I would prefer the choice to turn off reflections on water set to high.
  11. The effect of the reflection of the trees, terrain and objects in the water looks good from close distances but from the longer distances, it causes very annoying shimmering. I tried to change MSAA from 2x to 4x but with only very subtle improvement. The negative impact of the effect is IMHO worse than the benefit. Personally, I would very welcome the possibility to switch the effect ON/OFF in the settings.
  12. OK, attached zip file DCS_P-51_error_canopy.zip
  13. While looking back in the Spitfire, I can hear not realistic and annoying wind whistle if my head is near the canopy cover. The position I can hear it looks like this - see attachment.
  14. Tried to attach my dcs.log and my TrackIR profile(.xml) but both files were rejected as invalid files.... If you need these files, PM me or mail me.
  15. There is an unpleasant change of TrackIR boundaries in 2.5.6 for P-51: While seeing back I can now move my head outside canopy.
  16. Hello Reflected, I have just flown 4 missions so far. The campaign looks great but unfortunately, as soon as I am close to "big boys" my FPS drops to 10-15 and the game is a slideshow. Of course, I tried to eliminate a number of AI units via comm menu (immediately after my spawning at the start of the mission) but still I can count min 20-24 B-17s in the air... Note: my PC spec is above average (see my signature) and I have 60-80 FPS stable in normal gameplay SP and MP. Do I miss something? Or what kind of settings optimization would you recommend me to lower to make the missions playable? THX
  17. We have books on Spitfire https://www.amazon.com/Supermarine-Spitfire-onwards-Owners-Workshop/dp/1844254623 Mustang https://www.amazon.com/North-American-P-51-Mustang-Workshop/dp/0857338595 Fw 190 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Focke-FW190-Manual-Owners-Workshop/dp/0857337890 Bf 109 https://www.amazon.com/Messerschmitt-Bf109-Owners-Workshop-Manual/dp/1844256421 Mosquito https://www.amazon.com/Havilland-Mosquito-developing-servicing-fighter-bomber/dp/0857333607 Are there similar books on P-47 and F4U Corsair?
  18. My Buttkicker just arrived. Do I understand correctly that for DCS I need to buy Sim-shaker Wings + option for bass shaker support? THX
  19. Thanks to all guys. I think I can expect to be OK with all my planned USB devices (of course I use powered hub).
  20. 20! incredible. But the good news for my planned 9 devices  THX
  21. Well, to tell the truth, I did not counted Keyboard, Mouse and TIR. So the planed number is 9 total :-)
  22. Is there any limitation as for the number of attached USB input devices in DCS? I plan to add two more USB controllers so that I will have 6 total. (Joy, Throttle, Pedals, Axis module, Trim module and Switches module) THX
  23. Normandy map err near Maupertus airfield:
