Which aircraft are you most interested in?
tapi replied to Griffin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
To be honest, the plane I would want the most for DCS is Tempest Mk.V IMHO this is the key fighter plane for allies on the western front 1944/45 regarding low-level fighting (2 TAF). This would be an excellent adversary to Fw 190D, Bf 109K and hopefully Me262 and V1. Not yet released aircrafts mentioned in the poll are mostly fighter-bombers/ground-attack/pure bombers planes. But from the pure fighter's view the Tempest is a must here. -
Yes, I have set a limit to 60 too.
-
Hey hazzer, I have no problem with FPS while flying WWII modules with very similar PC specs... Though not using VR, but steady 60 FPS is no problem...
-
I am experiencing this too (I use only WWII modules). What helps a little (but not solve the problem entirely): a) lower volume of Buttkicker (or better via Voice Meeter volume slider) so that the loudest sounds do not generate ratling klack-klack sounds b) Use good quality sound card (I have cheap USB sound card and it produces worse (ie. uneven rattling) buttkicker output than my onboard sound card) c) Insert some silencing pad into the device:

I can confirm this, gunsight suddenly disappears from time to time and cannot be restored. I noticed it only in SP so far. Did not notice it in MP.

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
tapi replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
IMHO separate prop and throttle controls would be very helpful in case one engine fails during takeoff or in case one engine is hit and damaged. Then pilot must react quickly to set appropriately the healthy engine to counter uneven power. If I need the first choose the selector for my levers and then use them it is not as quick as the possibility directly control desired lever(s). -
DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion

Close up cockpit tour (starts at 4:12): ${1} EDIT: attaching YT vid seems not work so here is the link: -
OK, menu File --> Export settings --> .bin file is created. Thx
-
THX, I did not notice that. OK, I looked into the folder under button "DCS Export Folder" i.e. ....Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\ and ..Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\ and all files here are just lua scrips with the same old date (i.e. the date I installed SSA). But in recent days I have configured many values of different aircrafts. So I am still looking for a file with actual date where these my settings are stored...
-
Thx, but I have Buttkicker so I do not use SimShakerWings but SimShakerSoundModule. That is why I do not have this folder.
-
There is not a file containing per aircraft setting in the ..\Documents\SimShaker for Aviators\ folder. I can see only three files there: .log, shortcut to .exe and Soundmodule.cfg. But this cfg contains only a few lines for only general settings... And there are no files for SimShaker in the ..\Saved Games\ folders.
-
Where are stored SimShaker settings for all my DCS aircrafts? I would like to backup config with my tuned settings :-) But I did not find the file... Please help me, THX.
-
OK, thanks for the answer =Andre=. So there is no control to adjust base volume neither in SSSM nor in SSA. But I think I found out a solution: I can set base volume in the VoiceMEETER slider for Physical Output of the channel I reserved for SimShaker sound.
-
OK, more testing was done: Open Beta 2.5.6 and Stable version 2.5.5 has different volume default value because the same setting of SimShaker, produce much louder (higher) vibration effects in Open.Beta (any idea why?). Unchecking the checkbox for a particular effect has no impact - effect still works. But if I set the value of the effect to 0 then the effect stops. add 1) Still not sure, but seems to me that SSSM volume setting has impact to base volume level of SSA effects. But please confirm this. add 3) While flying I can adjust effects via ALT + TAB switching between SSA and DCS
-
Thx f410 for the answer. I use only Open-Beta DCS (2.5.6.), maybe there is the problem... Please, would you help me and explain to me these questions? 1) If I change Volume in the SimShaker Sound Module (SSSM) I can successfully test it with Play button. But this volume setting seems to have no impact to performance (i.e. volume) of SimShaker for Aviators (SSA). If I click to the button Test Vibe-Motors it has always the same volume regardless of what volume I set in SSSM. The volume of aircraft effects is unchanged too. See attachment. Is there any way how set the master volume for SimShaker to use it as a base value for my aircraft specific settings? My idea is to set Buttkicker volume to max, set some master volume value in your SW and then tune volumes for individual Effect Setting for the Aircraft. That should ensure the same effect every time I start sim and spare my time to adjust the volume every time I play the sim... 2) With DCS running (flying an aircraft) I tried to close SSA but the effects were still ON??? How works relation between SSSM, SSA and DCS? 3) Is it possible to tune effects while flying sim? i.e. ALT + TAB to switch between DCS and SSA. Change particular effect value in SSA, switch back to DCA and a should new value work? 4) SimShaker causes a considerable delay for VIACOM module for Voice Attack. I say command and it last 60-120s before the command is performed...

Hi, I am new to the SimShaker. Using it with ButtKicker and SimShaker Sound module. I am trying to tune effects but it does not always seem to respond to my change. When the changes in the setting take effect? e.g. I tried to disable guns, but even if I restarted DCS and SimShaker, firing guns still produce vibration effect? Please let me know how is the right procedure to tune and/or disabling particular effects.

P-51 vs Bf109K - TavView track - ask for debriefing
tapi replied to tapi's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Thanks very much, andremsmv for your comment. Very helpful. I really appreciate this community for an expertness as well as a willingness to help. Regarding P-51, I have a lot to learn but hope that with all of the advice I got in this thread in mind, I can improve much quicker than trying it only on my own... -
OK, understand. I did not know that. It is good that AI is hidden on F10 map. I know mission 7 suggest course 155. I flew this course all the way across the channel but then intentionally turn slightly left (course 145-150) in order to see the Evreux - Rouen space (and potential enemy planes) on the right side of my plane, i.e. not to miss the enemy because they would be hidden under the nose of my aircraft.

Track-IR Stutter fix petition at Natural point's forum
tapi replied to BitMaster's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Díky petsilde, zkoušel jsem si s tím o víkendu hrát. Závěr napíšu anglicky, aby to bylo i pro ostatní tady na foru. I tried many different settings and my conclusion is this: Utmost importance for the smooth view with TrackIR is exactly(!) 60 FPS. The tip in the post above gives more precise sync with the least lag, but because the most precise sync is not exactly 60 (but something like 59,803 for me), TrackIR gives me still not ultra-smooth experience. I think the precise sync is amazing for games without TrackIR (like FPS games etc.) but with TrackIR, it does not work best for me. But still I am curious if am I not missing something... Then I tried this: a) Cap FPS to 60 with RTSS, set G-sync OFF and set Vsync ON but then I get tearing. b) Cap FPS to 60 with RTSS, set G-sync ON and Vsync ON but then my FPS (thanks to vSync) fluctuate from 59 to 61 and so view with TrcakIR still is not completely smooth all the time c) Cap FPS to 60 with RTSS, set G-sync ON and set Vsync OFF - the best result for me. FPS seems to stay precisely on 60 FPS most of the time, so view seems to be very smooth. Thanks to the very smooth view, ghosting due to low FPS [yes 60 FPS is low for me :-)] is much less annoying. As for the TrackIR settings I finally settled to: Speed = 1,5 (more speed = less noticeable ghosting) Smoothing = 6. Note: just for viewing Smoothing = 2 would be better, but I use Z-axis for external zoom and the too low smoothing causes zoom a little bit jerky. Set it to 6 and zoom is much smoother. With this settings I tried SP and MP a was fairly satisfied. -

Thanks a lot for your tips and suggestions! Pls, would you help me how to set it in the ME? I can assign 0% of ammo to the enemy and in advanced waypoints, there is a choice "circle". But enemy still goes vertical as I am near. I did not find how set "never avoid enemy attacks".
