  1. Is FF for rudder pedals even modeled in DCS or other sims? I might try that, since i didn't make any centering spring mechanism for my DIY pedals.
  2. I think it has something to do with latest version. For me it happens only during loading and I simply restart mission. Since it doesn't bother me much I didn't research crash logs and I am sure it is noted and reported by ED.
  3. Quoting myself, but anyway:doh: I bought and installed components described above. I didn't even OC processor, since I only set up the system and DCS hours ago. It is a bad benchmark, nothing professional. I tried missions which caused problems. I am no game engine expert, but I learned what kills DCS performance. Huey Target practice AMD athlon 64 6000+, 5GB ram, Nvidia GTS 250 1GB: worst 5 FPS, best 15 FPS Above setup: lowest 30 FPS, best 70 FPS Best case scenarios came from 60 FPS to 170 FPS. Graphic card came first, so i tested with GTX 760 4GB vs GTS 250, and it performed even worse. I didn't even have multimonitor since the card didn't have right connector. I've lost 20% performance with less demand from game engine. I could test this all night, but I think there is no need. DCS runs satisfactory with this cheap setup. I will test further when I finish installation of all regular programs. I would test unofficial benchmark mission which was posted somewhere on this forum, but I never bought A10C. That would be a really good comparison to i5 and i7 systems. I will update this post after I install all SW that kills performance (free track, Exported MFCDs), but I don't expect it to be really bad, especially after overclock. If there is anybody in a position like mine, having too old system to wait for tech to change I really recommend making upgrade like this. It will hold for a little while, and you will have little or no loss of money after changing CPU, adding RAM and going SLI.
  4. I run single monitor + additional 800x600 for MFCDs. Graphic card is capable of running more monitors. Is there any benefit in performance if I enabled onboard graphics for smaller monitor? Or should I use main graphic card for both?
  5. I understand this now.
  6. Topic title is a bit lost in translation:doh:, but I couldn't edit it. I just wanted to know if it is normal that some planes don't extend their flaps further than normal for landing.
  7. I see, that some planes in FC3 don't have landing position for flaps. Is that correct or not modelled? I made universal panel and since there aren't separate commands for flaps positions i can de-sync my panel.
  8. We won`t know what exact specs should be, but it was announced that it will still use only two CPU cores, DX11 and will support dual graphic cards. I am thinking that for my budget build I will be good with G3258 with overclock to 4,2+ ghz, motherboard with Z97 chipset, 8GB of ram and nVidia 760 4GB. This should be good even now for single 24 monitor with another monitor for MFCDs. I am hoping that CV version of oculus rift will become reality and will upgrade further then. Probably to 16GB dual channel RAM and add another graphic card, which will be hopefully cheaper then. Either for oculus rift, 4k monitor, small TV or multimonitor. I will see what future brings us. If it turns out, that my decision about CPU will bottleneck me later I can still upgrade to fastest i5 or i7 on same motherboard. Since I don`t use my computer for anything that needs more than 2 cores that probably won`t happen and my rig should be good for few years. I think that I can`t miss with this. Intel is pretty strong now, and probably will be in the near future. With graphics AMD showed that it doesn`t care for old or small market games. I think that right now buying AMD cpu or graphics doesn`t have good price/performance ratio. I also thing that current engine is killing performance and as someone else said here, tries to turn square wheels with brute force. After EDGE comes out someone with more than 3ghz per core, 8+ GB of ram and good (300+ USD) graphic card (probably any brand) wouldn`t need to upgrade anything for normal frames with single monitor. I am no expert, I just recently started to show interest in PC hardware again, so hopefully no one will believe my opinions 100%, because they are only opinions.
  9. Who is that ATI everybody is talking about I noticed that and based my decision about my new graphic card on this. I didn`t even check ATI price/performance ratios or compared it against my chosen nVidia card. I am not some fanboy, but I play mainly old or not so common games. If they change their thinking about supporting only top 10 game titles I might consider them again.
  10. Problems are with bad models. Some old models got corrupted with converting from old models to new. It makes no sense disabling everything or playing with low settings when there are 20 bad old models. The other problem is new models and their LOD settings. It seems that game engine is able to manage up to ca 1000 models in view. If you have complete airfield taking 600 of that and 3 Hueys with 300 each you know where is the problem. UH-60 is 45 objects, Huey is 300, Ka50 ca 250, Mi8 ca 280. And they get drawn pretty far. There are severeal topics about this. I always wanted to make a mod to atleast delete old bad models, but never really gotten into it.
  11. Mission is in attachment For testing FPS I suggest you delete waypoints and move closer to your landing site. With my testing FPS came from (limited) 30fps to 20fps around congested areas. With Hueys it came to 10fps. Report your fps before/after en_UN-Pilot_01 - test.miz
  12. Yes, they were hidden. I am not good with ME. I will change hueys to something else and post it in the evening to try.
  13. I tried the mission now. It is static Hueys which cause problems. Two of them are so demanding as everything else there, and there are more of them. I tried mission editor, but I couldn`t find them:huh: If you could change them to UH-60 also parked there you would probably have normal FPS. One parked UH-60 has 10% FPS demand of one parked Huey. You can land somewhere so you don`t have parked Hueys in your field of view. Or you can change the mission in editor, but I don`t know exactly how. Just change them to anything else except Mi-8 or Huey.
  14. Try changing all 3 lodMult values in "graphics.lua" to "lodMult = 0.3;" Some models are just too detailed and bring FPS down. Don`t research too much on this topic, because EDGE may change some things.
  15. As I said, it doesn`t work in FC3 or Su-25t. I found some other threads with same question and no answer. For now it seems it is not possible to turn it OFF.
  16. I always wondered how ejecting works. Is it synchronised? I mean if one of the crew pulls the handle will both (or more) eject, or every seat works for itself. I couldn`t find anything smart by google, try searching for "How ejecting works" :megalol:
  17. I don`t use Saitek. With additional programs I meant anything outside DCS settings. Report if/when you fix it. Now that you mentioned you gave me an idea on which buttons I will use it:joystick:
  18. I like "100% pure naga" from Cili Pipp. They have several others, but this is my favourite. I use it in normal quantities, but sometimes add to much. I can`t imagine eating whole tablespoon like these guys.
  19. You will find it very easily. Follow the smell of leaking kerosene. I saw it last year at Airpower in Austria and it had pans to catch fuel underneath:megalol: Probably standard issue:megalol: I forgot which country operated it.
  20. I always wanted to cycle modes on keys 1-7. I am not fan of additional programs, but I will probably use this as a solution, thanks.
  21. It also depends with what you fly. If you fly air to ground you will loose a lot of detail. Some older models of trucks will be invisible until very close. There is a bad mix of new and old models in game and they have different LOD values. New are too much detailed (IMO) and old don`t have same LOD logic. So when changing "lodmult" value you change it for all. If you fly mainly fighters it won`t bother you. You will see less objects on airports, but it will greatly improve your FPS. In air to ground planes or helicopters you will see everything through cockpit displays (I think threre are no LOD values there, everything is drawn at any distance), but some bad model will be invisible through cockpit glass until 20 meters.
  22. Find graphics.lua in your DCS folder. Edit it with notepad++ and change all 3 "lodMult = X" to "lodMult = 0.3". It will gain you some performance with newer models. If you need more on this topic search forum for "performance guide".
  23. I successfully exported skhval or MFCD on my second monitor, but I can`t disable it in cockpit. Adding -- in purposes = {--render_purpose.GENERAL, in VewportHandling.lua didn`t work. It seems to work for others on A10C, but not on FC3 or Su25T. Am I missing something:helpsmilie:
  24. It can be, read PeterP guides. You have to enable both mfcds in settings, but make resolution of left 0x0. Right MFCD is shkval.
