Need new hardware. Advice needed.
Focha replied to Focha's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the tips guys. So my CPU and MOBO is still capable, but the HD and GPU are off a bit, right? Memory is also necessary? Thanks guys. Regards. -
From your screenshot the pilots looks a bit small in relation to the bird. Or is it just me? Not the same Huey type but here is the N version of it; Another one:

Ok, and what kind of graphics card should I went for? Thank you mate. -
In AS365, with engines running you can barely hear it. Although if you are paying attention to it, you can identify the sound. After engines shutdown or before engine start you can hear it perfectly fine "click-clack". :D

What is a game?

Hi there guys, My actual PC specs are below in my signature. I have €600 that I can spend in the new hardware, can the experts give me some advice? I would appreciate it. Thank you very much. Regards.

It is easy to implement the Starter button and the Idle Cutoff button. For the start button, just create a zone on the collective or throttle where is should be the starter button (like an invisible click area). For the Idle Cutoff button, it should be where it is in real life. The process could be done by assign a starter button on the joystick/HOTAS, or by having a two clicks with the mouse, press and hold the starter with left button, open throttle to idle detent with right mouse button. For the Idle Cutoff, simply turn the throttle all the way to the idle detent, and then when you click the Idle Cutoff, you could with the mouse rotate the thorttle further for cutoff. There are better ways to simulate than just put buttons where they don't match. For users with the proper hardware, it should then be available an option in the menu, to allow for the travel of the throttle mechanically, instead with the mouse. Use your imagination, then code it. Keep it simple and pratical, but please try to mimic the real startup procedure. DODOSim Bell 206 for FSX implemented that pretty well. As well as Bell 206 from DreamFoil for X-Plane. Best regards.

Helicopters are not planes. :) Sorry, you are not ready. :P

It seems that the project was not dead, just low profile. :P Think the SU-25 cockpit will be released in FC3, and I read somewhere that is the one of OnePride.

Wow! We have a hardcore one here! :joystick:

Hi there, I don't know if anyone got already this idea, but today while driving I thought of it. Probably there will be more helicopter add-ons in the future after UH-1H release, I am sure some CSAR machines will eventually appear in the theatre of operations. With that in mind I though of some nearly online dynamic mission, I'll try to be simple in the approach. Planes got shot down in battle, pilots make it to the ground. Right now as soon as a human pilot eject and touch the ground he just grabs another plane and goes up in the air. What about if that pilot stayed on the ground for CSAR machines get there. So, imagine this, human pilot gets shot down, but instead of the pilot magically disappear when the human goes to lobby, the AI takes place of that pilot and some script generates a CSAR mission (just like those scripts that runs on the server that gives you coordinates for targets) with details of the near location of the pilot, also with scripts enemy would start to move to the area in search of the pilot. Obviously this could make the mission heavy on performance, so for that not to happen, we would have some time running down for the successful rescue of the pilot. If the time reach 0 the pilot would be consider MIA (in another words, the AI would disappear). When in contact with the pilot (in reach of the radio) we would contact him via emergency frequency (this would be similar to FAC messages) and ask him to pop smoke, or to say enemy positions. From this moment the mission is accepted and there is another time running to be successful. The first timer is to avoid missions not being flown by helicopters or planes CSAR. The second timer is to avoid perpetual mission running and to be able to generate more mission in another places as pilots eject. We could also integrate a rate of eject per generated mission so to avoid having mission generated each time a pilot ejects. I don't have knowledge on mission development so I don't really now how difficult would be to do an online mission like this. Since utility/transport helicopters are starting to appear I think it is positive to think about missions online. Just my two cents I don't know what you guys think. Best regards and thank you for your attention.

Agree with the above. The hype of 3rd party devs got us some crazy fever of wanting those right now. That is impossible. Now we are on the chill phase of it. ;)

Same issue.

Where can I read more about those tactics?

Any news on this great project?

That was a really nice cockpit for the A version. I would pay if any of the third party makers come up with a 3D functional cockpit. Just like the one that is being made for the F15E. It is really different from being in the Ka50 or any other 3D cockpit and then fly the 25T... It just feels like a different sim. I would be happy with a non clickable 3D cockpit like the one on the new 15C.

This is my advice, in real helicopter I use to trim it first and then land, sometimes I use trim release in RL, the difference is that the cyclic "recenter" the forces and you don't feel any pressure, in BS that's not the case and you have to recenter it by hand which induce movement on the cyclic. In simulator all gets different. Make sure you have your joystick well setup. Just make a normal appch, hover above landing spot, do this by maintaining your hand firm. Then see what happens, if you still move, adjust your hand and stop 1 sec and see what happens, if you still move, make the correct hand/cyclic adjustment and stop again. My advice is, don't try to follow all the helicopter movements, you will overcompensate, sometimes even induce oscillations that aren't there. Another thing you can do is trim, trim again and again, trim one more time and trim all the way until you are in a stable hover and trimmed, it's a lot easier if the helicopter is trimmed. That prevent you to have to make a big trim movement on the simulator that would probably make a huge movement on the cyclic and in turn make the helicopter move a lot. Try that, hand firm, and always make trim steps short when on approach to land. If you maintain the pace you end up at a stable hover above landing spot and you just have to steadily lower you collective until touch down, don't forget parking brake on, and then slowly adjust cyclic when wheels touch. Try doing it several times, and you will end up with perfect landings. Just my two cents, report back your results. :) Again is important to have the joystick well setup, from my point of view, the sim is really close to reality in terms of landing, as far as a simulator is concerned. Landing a Dauphin is the same thing. Best regards and safe flights.

Can someone make a 3D Cockpit for the Su-25T or is it already in works? I think that would be really cool to see. I am tired of getting the view blocked with TIR. Regards.

Ok, the problem connecting to the master is solved. But now the sim crashes every time I try to join a server, it starts to load the mission but when it's almost finished crashes to desktop. Regards.
-
I don't have router, I have the modem connected directly to the PC. But I'll try shutting down FW. I'll post the results. Thank you. Regards.

Hi there, I am always getting this message now; "Can't connect to Master" I've already tried everything with no success. Some weeks ago it was working and I didn't change anything on my end. Is there anything going on with the Master server? Best regards and thank you.

Just to tease a little bit. :) Continue great work.

Really eager to start hunting SCUDs. :P

 Pretty unfair then... Well... I tried. :pilotfly:

Great work. :) Hope to see this one flyable in the future. Continue the amazing job. Regards.
