That is cool too! :)

Totally agree with what you wrote Sir.

I vote for an american rotorcraft, AH-1. :) Then Mi-24. After that a sea helicopter, for example UH-1N then Ka-32, then AH-1W, then ... Must stop! Must stop! I'll be glad with the AH-1S or W, both would be great. Mi-24 also great. F-86... it's not really my type.

I think you can adjust the elevation settings with the left ring on the sight.

It probably is a good business model in the short term. But I am afraid that it is not in the medium/long term. In my humble opinion, those who got the product not so long ago for the full price are not happy with the fact that the product was sold at 1/5 of the full price, even if only last 24 hours. If even the Beta version get this discount, I can surely admit, that from now on, as a customer point of view, will stop buying Beta version in the full price, better wait a few weeks and try to get lucky at a discount rate promotion. Surely I like to support developers, surely I understand the position of ED trying to find more people and support their work. But I can't accept that a Beta version of a software, let's call it an add-on like we used to do or in more recent terms DLC, that cost the same or almost the same of a full flight simulator have a discount so early in the process. Even though I understand the sales policy of ED in their optics, I can't agree with those sales policy, at least on what Huey Beta discount relates to, in my costumer point of view. The way to tell someone who is selling something that the buyer don't agree with their sales policy is not buying the something. So from now on I refuse to buy Beta versions and I'll wait either for a discount of that Beta version or buying the full final product. I thought that the 49,99 USD was to support ED and 3rd party developers, I was wrong to assume it that way. It seems to me that the more beta products released the more sales will be made, if you know what I meant by that. Just my humble opinion of a long time costumer that bought 99,98 USD of Beta products for supporting the cause.

Mmm... Not always the case. I've flown helicopters were you don't have a switch to toggle it. However you always have a switch or other kind of system to toggle the weather radar. Regards.

MI-8 Magnificent Eight, Flight Dynamics Questions
Focha replied to MaverickF22's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
1. It seems to me an AI helicopter. So far from what I watch in DCS, AI has a different behavior. 2. It is expectable to find some ground effect. By referring to inertia, you are talking about the weight feeling... That depends of the weight that the machine has. Don't expect the same behavior at MTOW or at almost BEW. I guess I understand what you are saying about inertia, don't know if I agree with you regarding the Huey. Have you ever seen a Huey taking off in an alert fire fighting mission? Those takeoff are really fast, and it makes you feel that the Huey is extremely maneuverable and agile. Lets see what is coming up. I also thing that you make some affirmations that are really made lightly, like saying you don't have to buy the product to know that it's not worth it. When you say you and many other pilots, do you have real life flying experience, if so, what did you fly? Merely curiosity. -
It's a game, a fun game, the types of game that you enter, play and satisfy you. It should be calling simulation game, that is different from a simulator. Nevertheless I have plenty of fun with it.

If the Mighty-8 is released today...
Focha replied to RagnarDa's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Can't understand why people here are so frustrated with the Huey status... For me, it's better to have something to do with a beta and help developers with the money than just sitting and waiting for the final version. Better to have two helicopters on beta phase on my HD than having nothing more than a few screenshots on a forum and some videos on tube... Bring us the Mi8 while you finish the Huey. At least I can click some buttons and kick some dust. -
Really great. Congrats Belsimtek devevolpers. You really work very hard and put products very fast in working beta. Looking forward to see Huey and Mi8 finish and to see whatelse you guys have for us. It must be the best times in DCS for rotary fans.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Focha replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
3rd Party AC-130/C-130 Does anyone would like an AC-130/C-130 DCS Level simulator, speacially the AC-130 with multiple station like UH-1H? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo3JANqGoDI Regards. -
Why know more, if we already know they are working on it. Some screens would be nice, but they are working on two things at the same time. We've to give devs time to work, don't you agree?

+1 SU25 A/T DCS Level

Depends. Sometimes to have better vibrations at a stage of flight you have to sacrifice other stages. For example, we got good results in ground and hover, once we got in the air, 100 knots things started to get bad, at MCP level flight, around 130/140 knots, we got another type of vibrations, mainly vertical. They tuned it, we got better results in MCP but the hover was worse. What is done, is that you fine tune the vibrations until they are within limits, after that, you still can get the vibrations level lower, but sometimes it's not possible to get those lower and not sacrifice other values. Today is easier to balance the blades, I can only imagine what was back in the days. For example EH-101 can do it with all electronic attached in the nose, it read backs all the blades and the software pinpoint what you need to do to each blade to get it done in less time. Balancing can be a pain.
-
The last time we did balancing in Dauphin, after the 6 years maintenance, it took almost a week. It was just like you said, the first start run, we didn't get near flight detent, almost not even in ground idle, simply because the vibrations where so much that even the instruments were hard to read. The maintenance guys, sometimes even said; "It's not possible!" :P Not good to hear from maintenance guys. I think all of you already understand what I was trying to say, I don't bother about the ETL vibrations, but it bothers me that those vibrations seems to affect helicopter control, I'm not talking about normal changes in aerodynamics or performance, I am fully aware of that. I have heard fellow pilots talk about vibration in Huey, but that does relate to the status of the aircraft and it's old age. We all agree that helicopters are vibrating beasts, those are, to some point, normal. But in my humble opinion, something is wrong with ETL vibrations in this sim. Maybe not. Never flown a Huey, I just can speak on the types I fly. Regards.

As some said, "my" AS365 (wish it was mine) is stabilized with AFCS (SAS) but sometimes in training we fly it without SAS. It's not so violent going through ETL as in the sim. I flown R-22, R-44 and I fly AS350 B3, B3 is a violent machine, and even so, I can maintain it in ETL speed without all that shaking. Yes, going through ETL changes the performance, and you have to adapt the controls, but in sim, even if I have my hand still, with all that violent shaking, the helicopter control behaves strangely. When I slowly translate to ETL speed, the helicopter start to shake, and sometimes even roll abruptly without input. I'm not saying it is a bug, as I said never flew a Huey, but I have flown other types of helicopters, SAS stabilized and non SAS, and I never went so violently in ETL. Maybe maintenance should do blades balancing before further flights. :P EDIT: The best I can do is talk with a friend that flown UH-1H and 205 in fire season. As Sundowner said, you don't have feedback in the cyclic, although you can have vibrations produced, but that doesn't have to do about the aerodynamic changes in the blades. Sometimes, in flight I look at the disk, and it's amazing how many times it flaps up and down, even though the cyclic is almost still. If you feel something in the cyclic, then probably, there is something not working as it should. At least in a hydraulic system. Even in R-22, that is mechanically linked to the swashplates, you don't feel much. I just feel there is a look of vibration in the transition in the sim. And if you don't quickly bleed out that speed, for example in approach, it just tends to get worse. Just my two cents.
-
One thing that's been bothering me is the ETL Vibration. It seems that the vibration effect somehow to some extend seems to affect the control of the aircraft. In real life you feel the vibration, but this do not influence the control of the aircraft. I say this because some of the landings, when I am established on approach, when the ETL vibrations starts, the aircraft seems to randomly shake everywhere. I can only speak from my real life experience, never flew an UH-1, this can be the Huey behavior, but for example in AS365 it's really smooth and you only have a lot of vibration when the blades are out of balance, still that doesn't influence the control of the aircraft and the transition from forward flight into hover is smooth and almost linear if you have no wind or headwind. Best regards.
-
So can anyone from Belsimtek share their opinion on this? Been following this and as Sundowner told, not one has guaranteed us that those will be fixed. Since I pay a huge amount of money for this aircraft sim I would also like to see some opinion on the future of the Huey.

If just features could be dynamic, that would be awesome. Some for rain. Imagine if you get into a shower of rain and then land in the dry land, would be awesome to get those effects dynamic. Wishing.

Is it the final version of the DCS: Huey?

The image I saw was this one in the UH-1H image thread.

Hi there, I noticed in some screenshot that there are some rain effects in windshield. Although I don't have those, is it necessary some special settings in graphics menu? And are those animated with the wipers on? Regards.

Tried today, not luck at all... Tried everything, even tried to slide of the cliff to gain some speed. Always end up crashing. 18000' feet with that kind of load is a lot for any medium/light helicopter. Also the skids make a lot of friction with the ground, making it impossible to make a running take off, I keep up always the nose on the "snow". Mission seems great but, unless we got more power or less weight, things will stay the same.

Sorry, those stats are off, I have windows 7 64. -
Cant figure it out, can you guys make an example. Where is the trigger menu?
