I'm an old school guy, I'll go with the red LEDs please. :)

Any new screens?

MTOW is a fixed value. MPTOW is different, you have to see the performance graphics to find that value. It's even more critical in helicopters. So it's understandable that the sim does not give you that value... Mmm... It's developers way to say; "Don't be lazy!".

If there isn't one... Build one!

I tried to use buddy laser flying online but I wasn't able to pick the laser on the TGP. We had both the same codes, 1866. But I never got a DETECT on the TGP. Also my bombs, after I switch the code to 1866, were not able to track the laser from my aircraft. Strange...

Hi there. I've been simming all of my life too. I was too young to remember some of the sims, but one of those that marked me the most was MicroProse's "F-15 Strike Eagle II". Another one was "Hind" from Digital Integration. Then followed Jane's simulators, etc. It's remarkable what was achieved in 20 years of evolution. It is interesting to see people protest against some aspects when 15 years ago there was nothing compared with the new simulators of today. I still remember to see monochrome lines representing mountains, horizon, lines representing aircrafts... Oh well. Thank scientists for evolution. :P

There is a big improvement with Win 7 64 bit for sure. No more stability issues, no more crashes, even with the .6 version. Is there any limit for VRAM in 32 bit like there is with RAM (max 3Gb RAM I guess)? And if so what is that limit?

I tried with the full load. :P I didn't blow up any tire but I tail strike a bit... Outch. Hard Landing Tail Strike.trk

The problem is not the crosswind. The problem is the windshear. Also the ATC directs you to runway 30 with a wind from 120-150... So you are landing with windshear, tail wind and heavy... I landed it well after jettison all weight and instead of landing on 30 I landed on runway 12.

Helicopter models looks weird. At least Merlin and 412. Hope they turn that into some beautiful representations of the real things. -

Fly heading 232 for 35, qfe 29.............

In Europe, civilian operations, use QNH, if correct it will give you the field elevation and this is standard. But in some other cases, where is better to use other setting you use it, although not standard. For example, when flying helicopters in mountain (in VMC) we use QNE (standard, 1013 mb) as this will give us pressure altitude. It's understandable that sometimes military aircraft use QFE (I think Russia use QFE in civil operations as standard which makes European pilots make some more math). Although they can also use QNH. You can always say a QFE based altitude with a QNH setting or vice-versa. You just add or subtract the field elevation to one of the settings. So it's not a big deal if it's QNH or QFE. Although if you are in IMC, that is a different story, since charts have AMSL reference (and that was determined by MOC), so in this case you would use QNH. Correct me if I am wrong here. In the sim, they should say: "QFE 29.89". So my understanding is that it is incomplete. Simply saying "QFE 29" doesn't give you the accuracy you need. Regards. -
Also reading the manual wouldn't hurt... Page 89 and 158 to 162 on the manual. It doesn't take much to read the hole manual once, you don't need to study and underline it to know some basic stuff. Regards.

Mmm... Never happened to me. Usually the nose wheel is turned so I guess it makes some resistance to move while starting up. But I never moved forward. I only set the nose wheel steering when I am about to move. But, yes and option for that would be good, with visual chocks would be nicer. Also it would be great to see the refuelling hole when you ask to refuel. Minor details. :P

Hi all, Just something that been buzzing in my head. Probably this was already brought up. Why there are so many servers with passwords? It's just a waste of server space and energy to have those on and not open it to public. I see many with 0 people. So, although I have no right to do it, still I ask, is there any logical reason for so many servers with 10 or more places to be online but password protected? Isn't it a waste of energy to have those server online for nothing? Maybe it's just me that thinks that way. Thanks for your time. Regards.

Just wait about 3 minutes with engines off. Ask for Ground Power, that way you dont lose avionics power. Regards.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

And here comes the guy of the Apache again! Do an AH-64A! :P With co-op CP/G multiplayer capability. Or else do a F-15E. With co-op WSO multiplayer capability. Did I mention Apache and co-op crew multiplayer capability? That would be awesome to see. I don't mind to be CP/G or WSO. :P -
It's a good feature. Hope it's easy on the FPS, if it's not, please make it optional as I am sure you will if this is the case. Also, and sorry for asking, are there any plans to make rain effects in the canopy? That would also be great, since the rubber on the Ka-50 wipers are cracking already... :P EDIT: I forgot to ask if this is going to appear in Ka-50?

It would be nice if it was an AV-8B. Since the manual was declassified. I was also hoping that was going to be an AH-64A... Promises... Taken by the wind... Eheh. :P -
It's interesting, shouldn't be haze settings accordingly with present weather? Or is haze a fixed setting?

For those who do not know yet about this upcoming sim. I really hope the next module would be DCS: AH-64A but I think that is not going to happen, so you have a different sim if you want to try AH-64. Here you have; http://combathelo.blogspot.com/ Regards.
