New Matt Wagner interview at simmoders!!!
Focha replied to jctrnacty's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
"Actually, we have not said that the Apache would come after the A-10C" Damn! -
So the minimum time for a new release is 9 months after the DCS: BS total release, right? So what's the minimum ETR on DCS: A-10C taking in consideration those factors? January 2010? By the look of those screens regarding the MFD's the cockpit is already much advanced. It's incredible how we just got BS and we are already talking about the new releases, but I guess that's how life is, when you get something really good after it you want a great good thing. Regards. @ Dursty Rhodes - If you are talking about 30 mm it's 11.41'' or 28,98 cm I think.

I would give it 100% without any question, bugs can be solved an it's just fantastic what BS achieved even with an older engine. For me it's the refresh of study sims and as BS is all about helicopters it's even more marvelous! Of course there are some things to improve but I am sure that they will get done with some patches. So for me is 100/100! I am just really curious about A-10A/C and AH-64A. The last more significant. Regards and continue the great work ED I hope your work pays off for you guys because you deserve it all the way.

Lol! That is great for ATA server mate, nice to hear that. I'll check it out. Regards and thank you.
-
I hope it comes online soon but I guess you are right about TuAF-I although those fighters sometimes are just mean. :pilotfly::joystick: "30 Min In route" "5 miles to the target" "Get a lock tone" BOOM!!!:cry:

This is just me dreaming but is it possible to replace the ka50 model by one of this to simulate Combat MEDEVAC in multiplayer (having a trigger function and a real pilot flying it)? Regards.
-
Great news! Since that is a great ATG server (I think is the only one now!)! Can't wait to fly again. Regards.
-
If you want drop me a PM and I'll send you the frequencies. Regards.
-
Lol! That would be great too. But it has to have all the systems detailed. :)

Hi there guys, I'll post here some questions so that way I'll not open a new thread. So this is A-10C, were can I find more info about it? What about the A-10A, is there going to be a module (in the FAQ there is info referring to A10A and AH-64A)? And last but not least, those screen shots are not a real 3D cockpit of the A-10C, right? But still you will make all the next modules' cockpit in 3D? Thank you for the patience of reply to this question. Best regards to all.

I would like one (or more) of the followings; -Super Puma -Cougar -Bo-105 -Bell 407 -Bell 212 (incl. UH-1N) -Bell 412 (incl. CH-146 and UH-1Y) -EH-101 -EC-135 -AS-350 and 355 -Mangusta -Tiger -NH-90 Both on civilian and military versions. Then we could integrate same civilian helicopter models in the missions (humanitarian support missios?). And maybe at some point when tools are released develop some good cockpit and flight model for some of those less complex machines. Best regards and good luck with the modeling fun.

I don't find it unstable. The problem is the interface we use to communicate with the simulation. In this case some X52 or some Cougar. If you had some trimable dampened cyclic with some good collective and anti torque pedals you would feel the simulation a lot different. I can't talk regarding specifically the ka50 but I know that a similar helicopter is very stable. Ka32. Once a pilot told be that after trimmed and with no gusts he could maintain the helicopter in a hover without touching the controls. I think it depends a bit on the hardware you have to control the Ka50 sim and how you configure it. Best regards.

Great work! Thank you a lot. Best regards.

I think consoles have their place. And PC have it's own too. I don't see me playing a fighting or platforms game in the PC, it's more pleasure in the console, but I don't see me playing a simulation on a console. Why? Well, I think it's pretty obvious. Range from hardware to the simple specific things that consoles and PCs exist and are made for. So leave consoles for gaming not for simulation. Unless if Ka50 was made for console in the arcade/game mod. Regards.

No Radar warning, no radar guidance, no radar SAMs?
Focha replied to oho's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Plus I think that for many of us, the real deal is on multiplayer. And those missions are "made by user" so Ka50 fits just perfect to the role. I didn't fly the campaign nor any offline ED made mission (forgive me ED guys) because I found multiplayer online flying the ultimate deal. And them you kill two rabbits at once. AI and campaign. Best regards. -
Work in team. :) 12x4=48 now kill the other 2 with some rockets. Lol. Regards.

No Radar warning, no radar guidance, no radar SAMs?
Focha replied to oho's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Interesting discussion. But I think you are over reacting big time. Chill down a bit. You are making it sound like this simulation is not good enough because it does not have a RWR system and you wanted it because some Ka50 test bed aircraft had it. I have to agree with Wombat78's three rules. And I rather prefer to have a 10 (even 20) years old realistic simulation than having a 5 or more recent years guess work simulation. And as someone said provide detailed information and documents about those systems and maybe ED will try to implement it or not. Best regards and I hope you are a reasonable person to see what you are saying here or some will might think you are just a kid behind some magazines and books of the expertie and consider that as not being the physical age. -
LOL! Best answer so far! :smartass::megalol:

Congratulations ED and all involved in this. You really brought us the best simulation not to mention that it's in a area were only a few have adventured, helicopter simulation. Hope you guys receive more awards and make all your wishes come true, we are here to support you in the best we can. Regards to all. PS: I am sure that some of us could really make a Ka-50 startup! And fly it within a few hours of training. LOL By the way how is the conversion on this single seat helicopter?

As my X52 is starting to get old I get all the problems at once wish is getting me crazy, one of the rotary axis is choppy as hell, the connection cable is starting to get some connections problems (if you see your joysitck lights blinking or if you lose cyclic control in flight you know what I mean :) ). There is always a button 33 an 34 when I want to assign a control (at least it was in LOMAC, I think in BS the problem is gone thanks ED!), etc. But the most common problems is the connection cable and the rotary knob moving erratically. Guess I have to switch for a X52 Pro this Christmas. LOL Regards.

Nice to hear you get a new machine Alpha! See you in combat.

My worst survivable crash was in 159th server too. I was in that target training mission over WP7 when after spending missiles and canon I was going to spend rockets when a Vulcan rip off my tail immediately I headed home, in the way back my main and common hydraulics went out, I never add so much hard time trying to keep attitude within the hydraulics failure limit attitude. I was literaly moving X52 all the range in every direction, obviously without at least one hydraulics the gear didnt work so I had to land on the belly, as I was landing the loss of hydraulics was so severe that the chin and tail were constantly hitting the ground. Finally after some time bouncing I was able to shutdown the helicopter and go to my kitchen to make one of those calment teas! I only can thanks ED for making the most complex rotorcraft simulation available for the common mortal. It must have been a lot of hours reading aeronautical books, making calculations, programming, even maybe making rotorcraft physics models and finite element simulation. Thank you all for the hard work. Now... Make more helicopters. Lol. Best regards for all.

Startup Procedures - Hope it helps you like it helps me
Focha replied to DaWu's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It was a nice idea but you have to correct somethings that are not correct. For example the APU start procedure. Another good idea is to create a small checklist without images so you can print it out. For example; Before Engine Start (Without GPU); BAT 1 - ON BAT 2 - ON FWD Fuel Pump - ON REAR Fuel Pump - ON Fuel Gauge - ON Fuel Gauge Meter - TEST APU Fuel Shut Off Valve - ON Bla bla bla... Best regards. -
On the other side - impossible to complete?
Focha replied to cquail's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Just my opinion about this, you could use what Jalava, Groove and EvilBivol-1 told plus when you get close to the mountain and if you don´t have yet enough altitude to pass just don´t drop 50-60 Km/h and fly perpendicular to the mountain taking advantage of some ground effect. Other way is reduce your weight by not taking load in 2 pylons and reduce some fuel after all you have to go high, in moutain flight you always have to sacrifice something. Best regards. -
Finally, something I'm good at! So I'm gonna brag...
Focha replied to tn_prvteye's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Feel just like you mate. So I make your words my own. Regards.
