The NTTR map is payware. For the free map you need to install either the regular dcs 1.2.something or the open beta 1.5.2

Gr.9 would be nice. Or Gr.7 but I suspect access to data may be an issue. If Razbam could find a way through that I'd love to see either in DCS. A Gr.3 might be a good option though. Shouldn't be too much classified data on it!

Don't know if I mentioned it to you before Hegykc but "spitsim" might be a good UK partner for you. They do a stick wich is designed to take different stick tops (currently only 2 standard ones though). I have one with a logitech G940 top grafted on. They might be interested in an expanded range!

Any chance of a bare metal and painted specular layer? So we can choose ultra shiny or just normal painted shiny?
-
I would not object.

I kind of get where Crumpp is coming from. Perhaps the ideal solution would be a mission editor setting to allow either a percentage fill or just tanks as per the OP. Percentage fill for "air quake" servers. Per tank for more historical scenarios. Though I personally would like to be able to fill as a percentage per tank. Get to see how much a full rear tank with NOTHING in the wings in a mustang messes things up!

No need to eject ;) did this to 3 F5's the other day! No real damage.
-
The nukes are rather buggy... Dropping one on an airfield pretty much means you need to restart the mission... it's very open to griefing.

My wishlist, pick one and I'll be happy! 1: English Electric Lightning (Though VEAO hope to do this one) 2: Saab Draken 3: F-104 4: Mig19 5: Mirage III I like my 2nd gen jets ;)

In at front out at top. It's a compromise though as it means the top rad gets warmed air pulled through it. Once I move house I'll be going back to my 9x120mm rad and external reservoir. Much neater plumbing is possible then.

I'm using a Corsair Carbide 540 with a front mounted 3x120mm rad and top 2x140mm. It copes with a de-lidded Haswell i7 @ 4.5ghz and pair of gtx 780 ti's without much trouble! I'd not want to run less that a 3x120mm for CPU plus GPU. Ideally more.

Gotta admit the Draken is the Saab I lust after... I wonder how the Swedish Datalink compared to the one developed but never used in the UK for the Lightning which was pretty basic. You say it was digital? The lightning system was analogue, Incredible to think that these systems actually existed back in the 60's using pre solid state electronics. Most people think it only became possible with solid state and microprocessors in the 80s

Tbh viggen ticks all the boxes but its fun to come up with other theories....

Tomcat already announced.... so first pic doesnt count.

Engine sputter / detonation with low power settings ...
Random replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Oh it's normal for some... just not aviation ones ;) -
no no no. English Electric FTW
-
I'd not be tooo upset if LN steal VEAO's thunder and announce a Lightning. Theres plenty of variants to go around!

In the september update Cobra says they are working on new aerodynanic configurations and propulsion + force distribution.... Obviously

Cant run WEP settings without a load... You'll overrev the thing before you are anywhere near full throttle. As Crumpp states a club prop or brake would have to be fitted able to absorb the power produced. But yes static runs werent able to replicate real world stresses back then!

Why is the Spitfire Mk IX still unstable??
Random replied to Crumpp's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Interesting that the merlin engined ones had ballast in the tail too. I've only seen griffon engined ones with the relevant panels removed. Was very surprised by the amount of lead! -
I'd buy it! It's not my favourite century series fighter but they are all rather cool and would buy them all.

Why is the Spitfire Mk IX still unstable??
Random replied to Crumpp's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
How about we all let Yo-Yo do his own research? I think he might have done it before and might even have made flight models for DCS before! I'm sure the spit will need multiple revisions after release but I'm also absolutely certain It's going to be the best simulation of any spitfire so far. I think the problem here is some feel everyone expects the spit to be an Instawin Uberplane and have to show it wasn't. Others feel the former few forum nembers want it to flip on its back and explode the second you look at it. I'm gonna go out on a limb here but I think both groups are wrong ;) -
Its still relevant. I can land a heli 20km from an airfield and have a tanker take off... Exactly as if I was doing the same in real life. I can see em in real life and not in DCS.
-
Crumpp will you admit you would be at a disadvantage on a 15" monitor compared to a 28" at same resolution? Real scale on a the current FoV would need something like a 50" monitor 3 feet away. For a realistic FOV and scale it requires a spherical screen and projectors... I can easily see stuff taking off from heathrow while still 15 miles away... I doubt I could see anything of the same size in DCS at that sort of distance. I'll test later maybe!

Ah that sucks! Was looking forward to tearing around in the Mig21! I'm sure you guys will get it sorted though! I should really be going to bed anyway....
