Hi Robonator, following on from Neil. You can register on the main site and once one of the admins accepts your registration you will receive an email asking you to contact Marcus. Please ignore this for the moment and contact myself(richard.rodgers@rafairuk.co.uk) when you wish to get a flight with one of us and Neil or I will get things sorted for you. Do not worry about your German accented English. We have two guys from Slovakia and they get on just fine.

This is an issue that we all need to be mindful of. Essentially due to copyright of any logos etc are not legally entitled to use them without permission whether you are making money from the skins or not. Now, whether any copyright holder would chase you if you did use them I really don't know. Slightly off beam, but still an example. I was involved with a charity cycle ride this year in aid of a charity set up in memory of a Red Arrow pilot. This charity is recognised by the Red Arrows. The cyclists were RAF pilots and Metropolitan Police officers. I was asked to produce a single fine art print from a photo taken by a RAF pilot who flew with the Reds on their first 9 ship practice. The Hawks were sporting the 50th anniversary tail paint schemes. I put a small image of the tail and the Eclat crest within the border where the Red Arrow pilots were to sign. When it went for approval we were told to remove the crest and tail image otherwise we could not do the print. Now, both of these things were plain to see on the photo but we were not allowed to use them in the border without a licence. And this was for something where 100% of money raised was going to the charity. I am not saying DO NOT do it, but be careful.

Link signature image to website
Richard Rodgers replied to Richard Rodgers's topic in Forum and Site Issues
Cheers Lizzard. As you can see it seems to be working. -
Hi guys, I have searched the forum, but am unable to find a definitive answer to how to do this. I wish to use an image as part of my signature and make it so that the image is clickable to my DCS group website (http://www.rafairuk.co.uk). I can get the image in there no probs, but cant seem to make it clickable. Have found several folks on here who have done this, such as phant who has his linked to a site in Italy. There must be an easy way of doing this so I guess that I am just making it difficult. Any help would be gratefully received. Richard

Thanks guys. It was me trying to be too clever and alter the description files that was the cause of the problem. All sorted now.

Hi guys, I am guessing there is an easy way of doing this but I seem to be unable to get it to work. I have the need to add the A10-C to the Russian or any Red Forces aircraft inventory so that within our multiplayer group we are able to have an aggressor squadron that if shot down does not automatically cause a blue on blue removal from the server of the pilot who shot the aggressor down. I have changed the 'Country' code within the description.lua file for the particular A10-C version I want to use. When Mission Editor is fired up I can set Country to Russia and am able to select A10-C from the list. However, on the loadouts page the dropdown where the skin/squadron can be selected is totally empty and so I am therefore not able to actually save anything as the editor can not define the required skin. Any ideas how I can overcome this please?

Thanks MAV. Just what I thought but was hoping not to hear it. -
How to Create a Dedicated Server. 10 Easy Steps
Richard Rodgers replied to H-var's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Hi guys, I have read this thread with interest as our VA (http://www.rafairuk.co.uk) has been using one of the members PCs as a host machine but we are now at the stage where we need to think a bit bigger. I have access to a virtual server but I can’t work out how to host DCS on it as it has no graphics card or GUI interface. Is there any way around this or do I have to get access to one with a graphics card. -
Hi Geordie, I can only echo Neil's words about our little group. Register and give it a bash with us. We will ALWAYS help anyone, but the key is if you are not 100% sure about something all you need to do is ask and we will almost certainly have someone in the group with the answer. "cussing is perfectly fine and even preferred ". That is good, as there is usually a good amount of that going on, along with the obligatory P**s taking every now and then. Hope to catch up soon. WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Richard Rodgers replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi guys, The VA that I run with a couple of friends (http://www.rafairuk.co.uk) is looking to possibly implement TARS or similar for our setup. Currently I have volunteered to look at the ins & outs of the setup and use. In the good old days of FS9/FX we simply used to change chanels on TS for Tower etc etc, but to ALT TAB in DCS to do this it is not a viable option which is why we are looking at TARS. I have looked all though this thread and other threads elsewhere on the net to try and find a definitive idiot guide of basic use and an 'if you press this button, this is the result' sort of guide. To date, I have yet to find anything of use. Regarding the installation of TARS, some of our members run DCS from a normal install and some from Steam. I personally run DCS from a steam install and so pointed it at the DCS folder in Saved Games. Eventhough it says 'Game not found', or words like that, it says Installed next to it in Green and from what I have read this is correct for a Steam install. I had to remove my 3.0.15 TSpeak and go back to 3.0.12 in order to get the Plugin to show up. Whilst the TARS pluging box is ticked and active I am unable to use Teamspeak as normal, even when DCS is not running as my PTT button I have does not work. Is this correct or am I missing something with the way I have installed? After doing the install I mapped a hat switch on my X52 Pro throttle to do the MIC Down etc to activate the different radios and when for example I press MIC DOWN it activate what I assume is the UHF radio and I get the usual options on the top right of the screen. Now that I have the radio active, what do I press to transmit on the set frequency? I have looked everywhere and can't find anything. Any help on the actual use of TARS and what buttons have to be pressed would be grateful. The implementation for us needs to be as idiot proof as possible with the least chance of a cock up due to user error. From what I can see, the biggest issue will be TSpeak, as it keeps nagging to update, and if once it is updated to a newer version TARS will not work so I can see that someone will inadvertently click and update. Sorry about the long post. I really want to get this sorted as it looks a very powerful tool. Richard -
Straight Up Question: Can ED Take Constructive Criticism?
Richard Rodgers replied to lunaticfringe's topic in Chit-Chat
I am relatively new to DCS, but from what I have seen ED seem to be very focused in most things they do. Especially when compared to the likes of Microsoft. With all software, whether it be DCS or whatever, the writers and testers can not physically test all eventuallities for how us folks use it and ultimately bend it. That is why they ENCOURAGE us all to report any bugs etc along with any suggestions of how things could be improved. The prob that ED have is that they are always looking at their product from the inside which is why it is down to you and me to help them where possible with constructive comments. If you feel that something is crap, there is no point whatsoever simply saying that. You MUST back it up with WHY it is and WHAT you think it should be. Without that being done, is it any surprise that some folks feel things don't get sorted. You have to say the correct things in the correct way to get the correct answer. Simple common sense really. -
I run an x52 pro and only use one screen. Would like 3 but don't have space at the moment. I have face track NO IR with PS3 camera and track clip pro. It works in a fashion but sometimes it can be more trouble than it is worth so don't use it all the time. I have become quite adept at moving the view around by mapping the front hat switch on the throttle. To help with button presses, I have invested $8 in Voice Attack. This is speech recognition software that can perform key press functions. For example I have set GEAR, FLAPS, SNAP VIEWS, AIR BRAKES, SOI, BOAT SWITCH etc etc to voice command. Makes thing easier for me. I am sorting out how to create a pan view left and right that is by voice. Almost cracked it. The beauty of Voice Attack is that any function that can be mapped to a key press or key combo can be done by voice.

Hi bud. I am one of the founders of this little group. http://www.rafairuk.co.uk We are very easy going and have a very broard range of abilities within our members. Register with the main site and forum. Real names through please. Our usual group night is Tuesday at a time stated on home page. Pop on to teamspeak and have a chat. We have a couple of pit builders with us. One has three 55" monitors. Richard

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Awesome group of people on here!!! Will have a play with the hack time thingie, but after a quick look at the manual it looks like it will only do one timing rather than being able to set timings for each waypoint as per the DTOT system. I will just throw something out there if I may. when our group used to use FS9 we had multiplayer function via FSHost. This was running on a separate PC acting as a flight server. When a player joined the session, all weather, season, date and time data was pinged to his FS and his setup altered automatically to be insync with the server. If we were to set up a dedicated DCS server rather than one of our group simply hosting a session on his PC, would each of us automatically sync to the server the same as we used to with FSHost? My guess it that we would not as sadly nothing like this seems straight forward in DCS and multiplayer.

Evening guys. When flying multiplayer my friends and I have the situation that out Flight Clocks all show different times. This is obviously due to the fact that if we have say a mission start time of 12:00:00, that is the time that the clock will start from once the sim is running. No matter when a player starts their sim. For normal general flying this is not an issue, but when times are brought into a targeting equation eventhough we are all in the correct place at the correct time(according to our individual clocks) we are all over the place time wise in reality. Is there any way that the sim clock can be reset once the aircraft is ready to taxi so that we could then all re-sync at the same time. I know that the Sim clock can also be used as a stopwatch and in some ways that would solve our problems, but that then causes another issue in that eventhough I can change to stopwatch, it does not display this in the HUD. It still displays the flight clock. Here's hoping that either there is a reste option for the clock or the HUD can be set to display the stopwatch instead of the clock.

RAF Air UK http://www.rafairuk-dcs.co.uk We are at present only a small group, but with a wealth of flight simulation experience based around a FS9 fixed wing environment. Having trialed DCS A-10C with two of our members, it was decided to have a section within our VA dedicated to this fantastic simulation experience. We are ourselves 'learning on the job' as regards the weapons systems of this trusty beast, but we can offer any pilots new to DCS A-10C a learning environment that can be conducted within a Multi-player online environment as well as offline. Pilots with experience are more than welcome to fly with us and hopefully we can all enjoy a friendly night or two learning to fight a most wonderful aircraft. We normally meet up at 19:15 (UK) each Tuesday using TeamSpeak3 as our comms option. Why not give us a try. If interested simply register with RAF Air UK at the top of the Home page. If you wish to contact us by email you can catch us at admin@rafairuk-dcs.co.uk

Thank you guys for the replies. Last night I did some fault finding. Started by clearing the profiles in Controls page. No good so then tackled the USB suggestion. Unplugged all USB devices and re-plugged one by one. All worked fine until I plugged the keyboard in. Eureka I thought. Plugged a different keyboard in and still had pitch up issue. Decided to try keyboard in different USB socket and worked fine so it looks like all was caused by a faulty USB socket. Thank you all for your help.

Thanks SR . Guess you mean controls page then highlight each column in turn an click on clear profile.

Hi guys, I am newly registered to the forum, but have been viewing it since September. What a great place to share info. Anyway, I have been using A-10C since back end of August via a Steam install without too many issues, or non that I have not been able to resolve by searching here. The problem that I have started yesterday. When firing DCS A-10C up it goes through the usual slow start to get to main menu. It does not seem to matter whether I create fast mission, load a previous one or go for instant action but when the sim loads, once I get into the cockpit after the 'Press Break/Pause key' part the view instantly pitches up 90 degrees. Holding Num 5 resets it but as soon as I let go it reverts to pitching up. Deleted the saved game folder thinking corrupt config somewhere but same happened on next startup. Tried various other things but in the end decided it would be faster to uninstall DCS World etc and do a reinstall. Did that but still same issue. Once again deleted saved game folder and also unplugged my X52 Pro stick thinking that may be the cause. Still the same. I am now at the point where I have run out of ideas. I guess that this is something stupidly simple but I can't find it. Any pointers would be gratefully received as I am dead in the water at the moment. Richard
