ok but think of this scenario. I will lock a tank, i will follow the procedure and launch my missile. at that point my view will get obscured either by some other object (accidentally i went behind building or other heli flown between or the tank pops his smokes. will i loose my lock? So scenario A something blocks my view of target but before missile reaches what ever blocks. Scenario B, something blocks my guidance beam, again building helo or what ever. So scenario A something comes between missile and target and scenario B something gets between me and my missile before it reaches. what behaviour should i expect?

I hat an interesting conversation today and a question appeared to me. Lasers have problems when it comes to humidity. furthermore in a battlefield with all the dust and smoke and and and, a laser beam will have sometimes hard time to reach its target especially as distance increases. Is this modeled in BS? will the range of missile guidance decrease with humidity? if the flightpath of a missile crosses smoke will the missile loose its guidance since the laser will spread inside the smoke?

from what i know everyone regardless of age, income etc can get a prepayd credit card. for all transactions it works in the same way as a usual credit card with only diference that you cant overchange it like with usual visa. this means that you get it and "put" 100 euros to it. then you can buy things that add to this 100 euros and not one cent more. so its good for online transaction without having to fear that some one will get your code etc and you will find yourself in great debt. also they are offered to minors, students etc since there is no risk for the bank.

i am not sure but i think there will be only 2 options, either pay with credit card for downloadable version or buy dvd from your local store. If you wish to use credit card but not your own, you have the option of the prepayed credit cards.

but you should also tell us what buttons are on the hotas of the real ka50 and what each one does in what modes and so on, so we will be able to have an "accurate" profile for x45,52 and Cougar! thanks for the list by the way!

when can we expect some data steam from ED? from key binds to manuals to what each button on the hotas of ka50 does? at least we can start to create our hotas profiles!

True, 80 Euros (aka 100$) isn't so much money if you consider all but i think in this price they should also include the hard copy manual. Also there is much to be seen regarding the amount of people that will play the game online especially in HL and in ED server (if there will be such). All in all, i think such prise is reasonable IF (and i belive it will) DCS series prooves to be all that it is claiming to be.

maybe Su-25 can be imported.

Also a question that just came to me. i am planing to buy the western version but i would like to use the russian cocpit. Will the user have the ability to choose what pit he will fly in?

I hope it means that their netcode isnt optimized YET to the point of being able to support more players with real time info since its based on LOFC. Also i would like to add a question about future plans for voip radio communications support.

but keep in mind that we dont know if russian version will work with future western products. this means that maybe when a10 will be out you will still have to buy the russian version

Very good to know, though for some clarification: i dont make any HW changes but i do 10 formats and installations of BS. On the 11th will i have a problem having spend all 10 activations or i spent only 1 because its still the same HW? when SW considers that i made a HW change? with id from CPU or Motherboard? also think of this scenario, if a person used all his activations of BS but keeps it installed. what will happen when he installs the A10 module? ka50 will be flyable again? and finally to bump a question of rjester. will i be able to download russian version from outside russia or not? and the russian version is considered seperate product from western? or i can download next week rus version and when western is released i should get a new one?

Actually it sounds more like civil rights. anyways it is a valid question and MS and other music and films publishing companies has payed tens of millions of euros for this.

Under EU laws a customer that had purchased (a legal) software media has the right to make at least one mirror of that media for back up purpose. If the back up media is sold or or or, then then all the royalty laws are applicable on the owner. (I can find the link if you wish from the EU laws database.) So with this in mind, will i be able to make a back up of the BS DVD i am planing to purchase? No offense, no rant no anything, I just wish to know if my rights as a EU citizen will be respected. BTW: Congratulations on your first software! I hope one of many to follow!

I really hope its such so that we will not need to have dvd in drive to play game. this decision was made in lock on 1.02 and i think i remember Wags telling that this is the way its meant to be.

from what is said in these forums by officials we expect a complete A-1 for the kamov that will be released about 1 month prior to the game.

i know that we are in code freeze now but i really think this feature NEEDS to be added. or at least some handle that can be used with external program at least. is there any official answer to this?

it should be included inside the game otherwise it just adds too much complexity, plus to simulate RL there should be 3 channels, 1) pilot gunner (no buttons needed and good quality sound) 2) pilots inside wing (LOS, distance, terrain, weather and ECM dependable) and last 3) global channel to communicate with HQ, EWACS etc.

what i mean is that once i played starcraft 1, warhammer 40k, unreal, CS, lockon, IL2FB, BF or what ever game i tried online there was really no reason at all to play offline. going against other humans makes a game 100 times better for me at least. for example, in offline mode a player can just play missions (single, fast or static campain) and should get online to access his ongoing dynamic game profile. so this means that ok, people can cheat to get the game and see it (like a demo) but to have the full expirience they should be registered!. P.S. i also hope there will not be any need to keep DVD in to play.

i disagree, a good value for money along with a product that keeps you glued to it is the best policy. ofcourse some people will try and some will manage to play for free, but in general the SIM community is the most (or at least i think so) dedicated one. Simulators are a game that went almost extinct and simheads know this. for me a far better policy is to apeal to the hearts of all sim heads and say the obvious: if it doesnt work again to bring life to this genter we have no idea when and if it will have a next breath. there is also a treand that says: play for free by your self but the game is online, for online you should use our server to login and so pay! this is also far better that any CP that reminds sad days of SF or what ever! i really hope BS will really kickstart everything and we will see in future high quality sims.
