Hi guys, This is the DCS Fw-190 A-8 Operation Tsunami Campaign. The original was for the Bf-109K-4 and made by Rudi-Beutler@t-online.de He was kind enough to let me, Sydy, to translate it to english and convert it to the Fw-190A-8. Even on the early access stage, the campaign is doable. Fw-190 A-8 Operation Tsunami Campaign. Some enemies were toned down and one 190 was added in some mission so you fly in a "Kette" instead of a "Rotte". I do not speak German, so I apologize in advance for any gross translation error, but I am sure you will be able to understand most of it. :-) Mind your fuel. To keep maneuverability high, the fuel is pretty close to the minimum to accomplish the missions but all of them are doable. How to Install: Extract this file into F:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\FW-190A8\Missions Read the Notes and Problems.pdf Read the Dogfight against AI.pdf Have fun! Instructions: Fw-190A-8 Operation Tsunami Operation Tsunami is a Fw-190 fighter pilot campaign with 10 missions in which one must win mainly for air combat missions. Originally made to the Bf-109 by Mr. Rudi Beutler who kindly let Sydy to convert and translate it. The following is required: - DCS version 2.553 stable - Fw-190A-99 module - Normandy map - WW2 Assets pack. The contents of the packed file must be saved in the folder "F:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\FW-190A8\Missions". The text files nor the PDFs do not need to be copied there. 03.04.1944 Normandy The situation for the German Wehrmacht is very bad. On the eastern front you are in retreat. Fuel and supplies are scarce. Several hydrogenation plants have been destroyed by bombing or heavily damaged. Right now, the Allies are launching the "Operation Tsunami", a major assault in Normandy. The "Operation Tsunami" is successful. The German Air Force is also equipped there only with a minimum stock of aircraft. In the next few days, the Luftwaffe is to secure with the remaining ground forces, airfields and strategically important places until reinforcements arrive. missions: 1 Ferry to Carpiquet 2 Bombers approaching 3 Mustangs are attacking 4 CAP over Carentan 5 Ship Attack 6 The train is coming 7 Attack on Carentan 8 Operation Forget-me-not 9 Bombing Weather 10 Advance to the coast Once again, thank you Rudi. You may download the Operation Tsunami Campaign in the User Files Download Page All the best guys and good hunting. Sydy.

It was in idle, but happened only once.

IFR, Good info! One problem, many solutions! Take care, Sydy

LeCuvier, I agree that of the two one is bad: the original design was poor and it is simulated pretty well or the simulation is exaggerated. Anyway, planes have limitations and in all of the RL planes I fly (except the very small ones) I have speed limitations for the landing gear. Most of the time it is because of the doors and not for the motor (all of them use hydraulics). VLO and VLE is there most of the time and I don’t dare to burst 1kt overspeeding it. Another thing, it is not a rare event to have a “Generator Off Bus” in nowadays planes. I had some in my career and, of course, the first step on the procedure is try to reset it. Well, if ED says they will not fix because it is not a bug, we will have to use this “work-around” as Anton SOP. All the best, Sydy

[REPORTED]CB's for Battery and Generator disconnect after take-off (MP)
Sydy replied to LeCuvier's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, I think it was like that. I developed a solution and probably the generator was weak anyway. Check The solution on this thread here.. I even made a small movie with a take off demonstration. I hope it helps you. All the best, Sydy -
Hi guys, Just made a movie to demonstrate what I meant above. I hope it helps you. All the best, Sydy

You’re welcome. The trick is be aggressive on speed control and keep bellow 250km/h. I will make a movie and post it on youtube today. Good luck, Sydy

Hi guys, good news. I’ve been flying the Anton quite a bit lately because I am converting a campaign to it. I managed to find a solution. What I can figure out of it is that the generator is simulated as quite weak. Let me tell what’s been working to me so far. I am sorry if this is old for any of you. Make the cockpit preparation as usual. Do not arm any gun at this point, but you may close CBs P80, P1 and P2. Perform the engine start; Remember to turn on the PITOT and to maintain at lease 1.200rpm Set flaps for takeoff and open the gear cover. Perform the takeoff. Once with airborne and positive climb, command Gear up. Maintain speed bellow 250km/h. (Up to 300km/h, although wrong, it will retract, but reduce the engine!) Observe the gear lights from green to red. Red means it’s locked up. Check wing gear indications pins retracted as well. Once you see Undercarriage red lights, command flap up. Once you see zero on the wing you may accelerate above 250km/h. Once stablished on a safe climb, command Gun Safety Switch 1 (the top one for the cowling guns) to ON (up position). Now WAIT!! Wait for at least 4 gun red lights to come on, indicating they are ready. Eventually all 6 will turn ON. Once you see at least 4 gun red lights, command Gun Safety Switch II (wing cannons) to ON (up position). Now command the stick safety switch to open. Keep an eye on the PITOT light. If it goes out, GENERATOR CB tripped. Put it back in. If you reduce too much power, GEN CB trip out as well. Since I started doing it I only had the GEN CB tripped twice (in many many flights). Edit: Here goes a video to demonstrate it. I wish you good luck. Soon I will publish a campaign with 10 missions for the 190 A-8. All the best, Sydy

Hi guys, I have been flying the Anton lately and decided to make a Quick Checklist to it. You may find the checklist on the User Files Download page here. I hope you like it. I am looking forward for them to fix this annoying CBs popping issue. All the best, Sydy

[REPORTED]CB's for Battery and Generator disconnect after take-off (MP)

I knew my two cents did not worth much... -
Wait for the oil to be at 50C! Looks like it works...

Guys, I noticed that when I turn on the guns with engine oil at 50C, no CB pup up occurs. Tks, Sydy

Tks, Following.

[REPORTED]CB's for Battery and Generator disconnect after take-off (MP)
Sydy replied to LeCuvier's topic in Bugs and Problems
Guys, I noticed that the problem is when the Engine is not hot enough. When the engine is bellow that mark close to 50C, the CBs pull. After the engine is warmed up, above 50C or so, no problem with the generator nor the battery and you may turn on the weapons. My two cents! All the best, Sydy -
Hi Chuck, Once again, thank you! Sydy

BF-109K-4 "Jagdflieger" Campaign Issues
Sydy replied to Xoho's topic in Bf 109 K-4 Jagdflieger Campaign
Pretty cool! Sounds great. I am in a vibe to fly warbirds lately. I flew the Tsunami Campaign twice and flew the first Jagdflieger mission also twice. LOL I am planning to convert the Tsunami campaign to the Fw-190A A-8, but I will write to the publisher first. That’s another nice bird to fly and I am sure the community will enjoy having an 190 A-8 Campaign as well. All the best, Sydy -
Hi guys, I will make some movies about this campaign. No voice overs, just how the campaign develops. So far, I flew only the first mission and I am waiting for the next campaign update as Reflected mentioned. Reflected, congratulations for the campaign. I am looking forward for flying it. I hope you like the humble movie. All the best, Sydy

BF-109K-4 "Jagdflieger" Campaign Issues
Sydy replied to Xoho's topic in Bf 109 K-4 Jagdflieger Campaign
Hi Reflected, The OB was just updated, but no mention of the campaign on the changelog. Do you know if they included the new fixed missions you made, please? Tks, Sydy -
Life is simple: Does it cost REAL money or do I have a limitation on the arena? No? Drop the tanks! If I have a limitation on the base resource or the arena, I don’t drop it unless really necessary. All the best, Sydy
