  1. Of the US Vietnam era planes, I'd love to see (in this order): 1. F-4 Phantom 2. F-105 Thunderchief 3. A-4 Skyhawk 3. F-100 Super Sabre 4. F-8 Crusader 5. A-7 Corsair II 6. A-1 Skyraider But even just the F-4E would well and truly make my day.
  2. Agreed and understood. If making a Mig 23 is made easier by having a Mig 21bis, then presumably a Mig 21 PFM (for example) would be even easier again because of the greater number of shared systems?
  3. I totally agree... but: 1. We are asking, not telling. 2. I think someone can like, enjoy and have pride in making something they were asked to make. Particularly where the request comes from a mature, loyal and appreciative fan-base, like we have for Mig 21 and DCS, and is made to a group of consummate professionals, like Leatherneck. 3. It would be very surprising if the developers did not like feature/module requests from the community. After all, they are getting direct feedback from their customers about what they want to buy from their businesses.
  4. I have this problem too. On landing, I cannot avoid the oscillations. I don't get them on takeoff. I don't think this is intended or realistic behaviour because: 1. The real life Mig 21 bis manual does not mention it. 2. It happens in pretty much every configuration I've flown the aircraft. 3. There don't appear to be any measures that can be taken to avoid.
  5. Everyone appreciates the fantastic works of the developers in getting DCS to where it's at now. But a lot of DCS users - including me - would like to recreate Vietnam-era air battles, with period correct aircraft models, weapons and maps. All we're doing is asking for what we want. What is the harm in that? In my opinion, those who poo poo others' feature requests are doing DCS, its community and its developers a big disservice. They stop developers from getting feedback on what the community wants (and will pay them for). In the same vein, it's annoying to see "I'd really like to see this feature" posts being replied to by other (non-developer) members saying "You'll never get that feature - what a silly idea!". Unless the responding member is a developer, it seems unlikely they're in an informed position to comment on whether a feature is going to be considered for implementation or not. So I don't think such posts add much to the conversation.
  6. Davai, davai!
  7. Congratulations!

    Useful map

This is great - thank you. Bump. Is that right?
  9. I have the same problem. The radar is not consistent in showing contacts above as an inverted T, contacts as the same level as +, and contacts below as T. While I can lock to get pitch info on the target, this obviously has its drawbacks (ie, you lose search mode, alert the target to take action, buddy spike friendlies etc). Would someone from Leatherneck be able to comment on the radar?
  10. +1 Definitely makes sense. Same with lights, radio switches, radar switches, gunsight swtiches. t
  11. Ok, so you can leave the gear lever in the down position without any ill effects but leaving it in the up position will bleed compressed air...
  12. I used the normal gear extension system, so it would have been the hydraulic system. I had three green on the gears. So no indication there was damage. Could it have been damaged with no indication? If the gears use the hydaulic system, does that mean that it doesn't matter whether you leave the lever in the up or down position? t
  13. Thanks. Will do!
  14. To repair: 1. Plane has stopped 2. Engine is off 3. Airfield is assigned to your side (Red or Blue).
  15. Really? I have 8 GB RAM. As well as a stock intel processor running at 4 GHz and a GTX970. Would I get more mileage with more RAM?
  16. I get this sometimes too, even when lowering the gear below the threshold, when I'm doing multiple touch and gos. I am guessing it is because the compressed air has run out. Would appreciate if someone could confirm?

    RL Mig 21 manual

Thank you! This is awesome! Thank you!
  18. Hi all, I'm trying to find a free online copy of a real life Mig21Bis flight manual / pilot operating handbook. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've seen the following: Mig 21UM flight manual and this But i can't find one for the Mig 21bis. Help? tsb47
  19. I find landing the Mig21 is much easier after the last update. I still find the landings difficult if there is a crosswind or landing weight exceeds the specified limitations.
  20. Ummm, this is the Kh-66 Grom technique...
  21. Yes, I found this too. IMHO the Mig is much easier to land now. I can actually see over the nose on approach at 340 kmph. Landings are still hair though.
  22. Yes, all on. I think it's a graphical bug on my system as the illumination bomb doesn't work either...
  23. Yes, I have done a repair through steam. My card is GTX970 with latest drivers 347.09WHQL.
  24. Hi all, I want to map the space key to a command that will snap zoom whatever cockpit view I'm in to a narrow FoV. I have trackir and basically want a key that will allow me to ID ground targets by sight without having to zoom all the way in with the * key and then back all the way out with the / key. Is there some way to do this? Any advice appreciated. Cheers, tsb47
