  3. I know it is still early alpha but I wanted to give some suggestions. While creating a mission, I have noticed a severe lack of Allied anti-aircraft guns and some missing German guns. Allies: M45 Maxon. Quad .50 cal turret https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M45_Quadmount M16. A mobile version of the M45 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M16_Multiple_Gun_Motor_Carriage M3 90mm cannon. Heavy AA gun similar to the German 88 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/90_mm_Gun_M1/M2/M3 M1 37mm anti-aircraft gun https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/37_mm_Gun_M1 Triple Polsten https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_mm_Polsten Axis: Flak 36. 37 millimeter cannon https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/3.7_cm_Flak_18/36/37/43 Sdkfz 7 or Opel Blitz with Anti-aircraft cannons 20mm or 37mm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SdKfz_7 Dual MG34 AAMG Besides what we have these are the most important anti-aircraft cannons to create a believable battlefield. Another thing that we need are puffs of smoke, typical for anti-aircraft cannons. I have also noticed that the 20 millimeter German cannons are using the Soviet 23 mm shells as a substitute. I am not sure whether or not it is intentional.
  4. G10 would be similar to K4 with relevance. If we were given Bf109G6 and its modifications (AS, U4 etc.)it would fit the Normandy. Anything above is stretching the likelihood of any operational numbers. But theoretically it was possible for G14 to be available. G10, K4 are impossible. Even though G6 is lighter than K4 It has less power and more draggy airframe. It would still be a bit fastrr than Spit but wouldn't be able to pull away with ease. Spitfire would still have a turning advantage.The 109 also loses its high tail and the rudder with flettner tab that K4 has, Which means lower maneuverability at high speeds. It is a valid point to be had as we can see that ED is creating another model of P-51D to fit the Normandy setting. The bigger issue lies with Dora as it would require basically a new radial powerplant to bring Fw190A7 or 8 to DCS and that could be a new DCS module itself. All DCS current planes would fit into Battle of the Bulge scenario but it would still be in favour of Luftwaffe.
  5. Not only that but those flaks are using 23mm ammo from ZU-23 and I would be inclined to say that they also might work the same and rotate quicker. But yes you need higher level on Bofors or it almost never wants to fire at fast planes and itmisses a lot.
  6. I just want to say that even though I am not a CAS type of guy, I think that Ju-87 would be major change for DCS WW2 and would bring a lot more to the table. The game would have it's first dedicated ground pounder and would give German teams something to do the job, as they have no good CAS.

  8. Fw190A versions had BMW radials. We have Fw190D9 which is using an inline, liquid cooled Jumo 213A engine.
  9. Every Mustang was faster than any 109G and Fw190A during the time of Normandy landings.
  10. "Operation Cobra" 15'C, Cloud cover thickness 250 m at altitude of 3000 m. That way it feels different, close to the weather of real Operation Cobra and it has a layer of clouds that is the same for everyone so that there is no confusion due to poor DCS cloud system. There are 3 Targets for each team. 1st is St.Lo where both teams have their forces. It has more Hard targets for the Germans but thats because second target for the allies has hard targets. Hard: 10 Shermans vs 5 Bunkers and Jagdpanther. 2nd is Convoy. Germans have smaller convoy with 4x Panzer IV tanks few trucks and Kubelwagens. Allies have a big Red Ball Express with trucks, jeeps and APC's only. No hard targets. 3rd is Command Center. It is the most equal of the targets. The only difference is that allies have tanks and Germans have fuel tanks. I have made AAA interesting by adding more light weapons around heavy flak batteries. That way AAA feels very exciting to fly through but at the same time doesn't end the flight within 10 sec. There are two Airfields per team. 1st closer to the targets (~20 km from St.Lo)has very poor protection just 8x HMG's for both Allies and Axis. 2nd is farther away in equal distance (~40 km from St.Lo) to the target for both teams. This has Heavy AAA with 6 Flak emplacements for each team. Airplanes from the far airfield are better camouflaged with darker tones while those closer have lighter camouflages. It will help the variety in combat and those that choose the long way are rewarded with better Camouflage I do not have scripting ability so it is quite bare bones and eekz would have to do his magic when it comes to targets/counters/messages etc. Now to see if eekz is interested :)
  11. EDIT: OK. After a bit of testing my mission would be a bit messy and hard to guide to the targets especially for the Germans. Streamlining now. Everything is going to be around St.Lo Area and airfields are going to be nearly equaly far from the targets to allow for more balanced flow :)
  12. Bomers kill FPS and produce massive lag. Thats why on ACG there were massive lags.
  13. Eekz! After playing the mission and talking with my friend, analysing the missions after last time I wanted give you a bit of my feedback. I have a few to say. This is my feedback: 1. Mission targets are not interesting and seem to not bring anything to the game dynamic. Some lazy trucks on an airfield are not very compeling. Without the old script showing incoming planes and target score it is a bit hard to say who is winning/loosing at the time. 2. AAA placement. Now that we have period AAA it is nice to see it. BUT! Your placement of AAA changes the fight dynamic and unblanaces the whole experience. From what we have noticed is that Allied AAA emplacements are around our main bases 40km from the battlefield while German AAA are put along side the coast line 20km from the target. That makes German players dive everytime and within secodns they are over 3 concetrated fields and fly from one field to another to get AAA support. Combined with BS DM and overwhelming German AAA and airplanes that never flew in Normandy it skeews the mission in favour of the German side. My idea for a new mission. a) Set up targets in a way that is compelling. My idea for a mission is: Germans: -1st target Defensive line of infantry, AT- guns and bunkers close to a town that has light AAA coverage. About 12 light targets and some 6 heavy (buildings/bunkers/trenches) Close to the middle between both teams. -2nd target Armoured column on the road to the 1st target. Some 12 trucks and 8 tanks. -3rd Fuel Depot that is located closer to one of the bases with more powerful and plentiful AAA. Allies: -1st target. Units next to the German line. They will simulate an assault force and need support with very light AAA. 5 tanks and 20 halftracks some infantry. -2nd target. Allied "Red Ball Express" supply convoy with only trucks with some AAA halftracks. 3rd target. Allied staging area with barracks, kitchens, trucks etc. guarded by heavy flak closer to one of the bases. We do not have medium bombers so I am trying to make those targets feasible for I am right now trying to create the aforementioned idea into a mission and can send it to you so that you can make the rest of the MP magic happen. If something doesn't work in DCS (creates crashes, low FPS, lag, etc.) just tell me. :)

  15. It is not a mater of preference but realism. It is imperative that it is fixed to insure realistic depiction of the Bf109 model. Dora also got this treatment?
  16. I have found two planes that have that kind of frontal glass "Lady Alice" and "Crazy Horse 2". I can't tell if it is WW2 equipment, post war production or just green "modern" glass or maybe modifcation from Korean war? I can't tell. I have cross checked these planes and Alice is NT and Crazy is NA. So its not place of production, but both seem to be block D-30... I have no clue. But what boggles my mind is why the K-14 gunsight is also tinted?
  17. Umm... Why was this added?:huh: As far as I know 109 never had tinted windscreen. It has a gunsight filter that can be fliped if needed but the glass should be just thicker than on sides, thats all.

  19. 364mph was with radiator closed, plane trimmed, mixture emergency and with WEP. It is not close to Yo-Yo's data because his data is derived from 61' manifold pressure. Mine was at 67'. My test at 61' is Flight 4 which shows 356mph. 4mph short of expected 360mph.

  22. So 109K4 is to stay but the new stang model is going to be given old gunsight? Are you kidding me? Maybe make it D5 while you are at it.:mad:? As long as there is a Dora and a Kurfurst over Normandy I will not agree to this change or any model below D20!
  23. OK. I came to give feedback. Glad to see that you know what causes warping on your server, that was my no. 1 issue. Secondly density of clouds is too great. Sometimes it is really hard to coordinate because a wingman turns into a cloud but he has clear sky and we have to find each other. If there is a possibility to manually put static clouds use it instead. If such option doesn't exist, turn the clouds off completely. As long as they are client generated they are just annoying. Thirdly icon mod is needed IMHO.

  25. I have already adjusted to the 1000ft convergence we have in DCS. It took time and effort, but it was doable. Still I think we should have the ability to change that in MP. It has been documented by many pilots in their books and interviews. Very much this! +1 M8 API is going to be necessary with the new Damage Model and I agree it will be way more important than the convergence itself. You want to hit the plane and explode it / set it on fire. With AP it is near impossible. With M8 API its quite possible.
