Yep, didn't think of it. It really looks like another prop hit it. But the second one looks like a hit. 37mm from a mig? Or AAA? Another two I found:
-
Abandoned airfields should not be covered with AAA. Only those that luftwaffe operates. Why would there be Flak where there is nothing to protect? Not to mention that those are allied fields...
-
 They had different purpose and StuG III is one of the most important German armoured vehicles. To say they are the same is quite ignorant of their history.

I think we will see a big decreese in MG131 effectiveness but an increase for MG151 and Mk108, although this won't suprise allies in any shape or form as it is usually one hit from those weapons currently that disables most of our systems or destroyes the plane completely or kills the pilot. I think you also underestimate American planes when it comes to durability. Spitfire might feel squimish but P-51D and P-47D will be able to take some hits. Even the 30mm will not be 100% 1 shot 1 kill although most likely will be crippling. 109 will see the biggest durability loss. Its wing has only one spar. The plane is small and hard to hit but when you do hit, you almost always hit something vital. We will definitely see an increase in survivability from the Fw190D9. Sure it is not A8 with a radial, but it still has quite a lot of armour and its structure will allow it to take some pounding from direct 6 o'clock. At least it will be closer to reality which I am looking forward to. And I think it will make B&Z approach with good tactics and gunnery even more important than just simple stick to the gut approach most players now choose. I wonder what happened to these guys :P :

DCS A-20 Havoc or B-26 Marauder Bombers as flyable modules ?
Solty replied to Basco1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
They have quite a few twin engine planes by now. MIG29, F-15, Su-27, Su25 etc. But they ate all jets. But I agree that if DCS ww2 is suposse to be relevant for years to come, we need twin engine attackers. Me410, Hs129, A20, Mosquito etc. -
I think P38L would be a great addition.
-
Is that a real response? How come I never see "aces" like u on MP? Typical. It should be easy to see those indicators at a glance. Computer graphics are not equal to real life and if they have low quality they can strain your eyesight
-
Those were special versions.
-
It would be nice if it was cleaner than the old one though :)

Nice :) BTW very good video here: @ 14:30 "It doesn't whip over like some other planes do and has very little tendency to drop into a spin."
-
You get out of a spin within seconds and I would say 500ft tops but it is realy hard to get into a spin in that plane. Not to mention that real life pilots like Don Bryan and Richard Candaleria used snap rolls in combat to get out of bad situations.
-
People confuse realistic visibility with lack of visibility. It actually seems that it works the other way around in dcs and the higher the resolution the better spotting. So people with 4k monitors say its fine while people with 17 inch cant see a damn thing. Not to mention it is far easier to spot allied planes than German.
-
I love the contrast that some of those videos bring. In your video the modern pilot (with 9 years of experience on it!) says that the plane will kill you if you do not keep to the strict "by the book" approach to flying, and that it has vicious stalling characteristics. While in this video at the beging WW2 pilots say that it was an easy plane to fly with no bad habits xD Difference between generations?:music_whistling:

Yep. The real issue of the current DMis structural integrity, liquids and fires. Some systems get damaged quite often, even too often such as prop governor and MG's of the mustang. That's due to lack of a good DM. We get a new DM and I will be happy. I just hope .50 cal will get their M8 API ammo too.
-
I for one am excited to see the new DM. The current one is one of the main issues of DCS. There are games from ten years ago that have far superior DM to the current one. I really hope it comes out this summer, it will be a big gamechanger and will make the game way more pleasant. My hope is that its going to be similar to CloD or better. I don't think it will have a big impact on performance of the game.
-
In fighter to fighter combat. But it would be enough to easily destroy German and most Japanese bombers. But I would not be confident in their performance against a beast like the B17 or B29 :3
-
+1 I assumed they would be around the same time as Normandy since they are working on them since 2012. I was wrong.
-
B17 was one of the toughest bombers of the war. If German He111 were to go without escort against Luftwaffe in 1944, their losses would probably be around 70-80%. The video u posted and many others, together with countless photos, are testament to what the B17 would go through and still come back home. Shooting them down with a single short burst to the wing with Mg151/20 is highly unlikely.

Explosive filler doesn't allways translate to higher damage. With API you can kill an inline engine pretty quickly while HE round might even blow on the airframe making just a hole with no substantial damage. It will explode on the armor plate behind the pilot doing nothing while API can go through and kill the pilot. It all depends on many different factors. BTW our mustang has M2 AP and M20 APIT only in the game, which I have made a thread about. We can just hope ED will bring us the period appropriate M8 API to replace M2.

My first Normandy video. It was a nice dogfight with a K4.
-
I confirm. Deferred Shading makest the P-51 filcker and look like above.
-
Thx, I have around 60fps. Works.

I just downloaded latest drivers. It seems to be working. Although barely even though I have i5 3,2GHz gtx970 and 16gb of RAM.
