No i dont think you understand the concept of hotas. "Hands on Throttle and stick" which mean that with a properly configured hotas setup you should never have to reach for any controls during a combat phase. It is the case with the a-10. And with a bit of head scratching you can reproduce that even with aircrafts that are not originally equipped with HOTAS, it did it for the mig21 for instance. Outside of combat phase you will need to let go of the Throttle to push buttons, but then there is more time as it is a less tense situation.

I don't see why modules should be planned to maintain a red/blue balance. This is a flightsim, not a death match. Peculiar and unique aircrafts will always be interesting, even if they don't fit in the multiplayer fragfest you see on most public MP servers. And with enough time there will be enough diversity in modules to recreate certain theatre or match airplanes by era. The balance of mission should be up to the mission developer's. You can always give tactical advantages to the sides with inferior aircrafts

Look up lotatc, it is basically what you are describing

P-51D Instrument Panel for Android tables
luckyhendrix replied to leonpo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I Installed this, and really it is wonderfull, it works great ! It helps me to fly coordinated, because now with even a quick glance I can see the ball and all important instrument even while focusing on a target ! I Wish it was possible to have a generic version for all aircrafts with just the essential instruments (artificial horizon, ball and bank indicator, speed and altitude) -
I didnt know what is exactly the static margin of the the su27. I guessed it had to be tiny or negative by the way it handles. But yes if you say the su27 is unstable it seems logical. And thus we are saying the same thing: "aircrafts naturally unstable exists" .
-
You are playing on words, I didn't mean that the inverted pendulum can be kept perfectly upright at all times. But the system has been stabilized has shown by your very own video... Concerning the su-27 I didn't say it is an unstable aircraft. But it must have a tiny static margin, with the ASC on, it is perfectly stable. With the ASC off you can easily give controls input that send it in an unrecoverable situation. And cut the attitude, I'm not going to bother read the rest of your post like I was going to. Because you're going to be a smartass about it as usual ...

Announcement of thé mystery f-5 module ? -
Yea, I see what you mean, and I'm afraid that their projects might prevent the same aircrafts being done by others. But it is still early, and I hope we will be proven wrong.

Leatherneck Simulations Mini-Update - SEPTEMBER 2015
luckyhendrix replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Leatherneck is really a marvelous developer, especially that they understand that aircrafts that come with the appropriate theater and settings are double the fun :D -
Zéro+corsair with ww2 carrier ops would be very interesting and a self container game within dcs with just a few AI units. A sensible choice if you ask me! And leatherneck seems to have very well understood that player want aircraft that can fit into its own playing field...

hey, i'd like to register too: Lonewolf Call sign : Luckyhendrix Preferred aircrafts : A10C,Mig21,SU-25(T or not),Mi-8TV2

I dont think this facebook page is anything official, is it ?

Sorry, I haven't yet fully read your analysis on the mig21. But I must point out that this is incorrect. Trying to keep a pen in equilibrium on its tip is perfectly doable ! There are tons of robots/machines and human capable of that ! The pen is like you said unstable and will fall down if left on its own. But if given the right inputs of force at its base it can be kept upright! This is a case of an unstable system that as been stabilised by introduction of an active control ( usually in the form of a pid controller). Look up control theory. It is the same for aircrafts. Some advanced fighters might be unstable (static margin slightly negative) or marginally stable (static margin positive but very close to 0),but the addition of a complex flyby wire system between the pilot and the control surfaces can stabilise them! Of course they will be very hard, if not impossible to fly without the flight controller .(press S in the su27 to see what I mean [emoji14])

Look, there is a word that shouldn't be there! But anyway, honestly I don't care if it is integrated or not really. All I am saying is : I don't understand how this discussion gets so much traction, and I don't see how the impact of this module on the multiplayer fragfest is of any consideration ....
-
To the people using the multiplayer argument, just this. It is a flight sim, the purpose is to simulate real capabilities and operations of the aircraft. The balance of specific games mode are up to the mission developer's.
-
There is really not much point in modeling those. I think that in the real aircraft they would stay pretty much always on. And in the simulation, electrical failures of individuals components isn't modelled, so you would never need to touch those breakers

Contrails are not necesarly coming from the engines. Under certain conditions., it is the wing vortices that will cause water to condense inside the low pressure region in the vortex core, resulting in a contrail

Interview with Leatherneck Studios
luckyhendrix replied to Count Sessine's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Yeah but, the Mig21 did not need any of this neither did any belsimtek or ED modules. So I dont think it is mandatory, I'm getting sick of seeing games in "early acces" everywhere. I will happily pre-purchasse a module to full price while waiting to the full release. -
Interview with Leatherneck Studios
luckyhendrix replied to Count Sessine's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I'm quite happy that it is that way, otherwise we're going too soon find ourselves with a mashup of aircraft with no consistent level of simulation. Homogeneisation is the way to go, I say upgrade all to PFM+ASM  -
So, still no fix for this ? Has anyone tried in the open beta if something changed ? I find it very annoying to be forced to use the Mig21 with russian nationality in ordrer to have EWR :/ Also the procedure described in the manual to add the EWR to any nation does not seem to work ... the group saved in template can only be placed with the same nationality it was created with.
-
We should be able to have an aircraft start from everywhere on the ground ! So we can have planes take off from roads or the tiny abandonned airstrips near kutasi and kobuleti. It would allow to use the JATO features of the Mig21, or be makeshift runways for the ww2 fighters. It could be implemented exactly like the FARP object for helos : an editor object that creates a parking spot for airplanes :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNuVCvIGKxE&feature=share

Too bad :( , so this seems impossible, it's really sad -
Spawn aircraft near the abandoned airbase at kobuleti
luckyhendrix replied to luckyhendrix's topic in Mission Editor
Maybe I could use mist function : mist.teleportToPoint ? I'm not experienced at all with lua scripting in DCS ; Would this function work in a multiplayer environement on a client ? -
Is it possible to have an aircraft start on the ground on from map location ? Kind of like a FARP but for aircraft rather than helo's ? it would be very usefull for improvised base for the mig21s/su25 or the ww2 fighters. Also, around airbase they are truc with big spotlights , is it possible to place them in the editor ? Or any other kind of lights ? thanks :)
