Especially in multiplayer. Just imagine that your RIO is killed, exits the game and then some random guy joins you, looks around and says "nice bullet holes you have here" :D
-
That's why I'm asking it. I would of course prefer the real deal thing where you are done and should return to the base if possible. :)
-
Whoa, is the RIO assisted startup available like this in any mission or is it only a training mission? I mean mainly the highlighting of the switches.

The rear seat will be blocked when he dies? Or are you able to "cheat" your way to the rear seat as a player and use Iceman while doing so?

What would happen to them? They will simply not be able to push as much performance as newer CPUs with more cores. If you make the game engine use 8 threads it does not mean that it will not be possible to run on less. It will simply not be as powerful. And what would be the point in DCS conversion if it would not use more threads than now?

You do not have to. You can switch your installation to a different build by simple cmd command or with utility. Look here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 No need to have two different installations on your PC.

You want to aim for 50% power supply utilization during load as that's the point where the power supply is the most efficient. But that is just my take on it. As for Vulkan, games based on it are usually 8 threaded. They hardly utilize the CPU for 100%, but they do not have to. The goal is to make the workload as much paralel as possible to not bottleneck the GPU when there are heavy CPU bound workloads.

The version are now synchronized. Both stable and beta have the same version. I would not advise new/returning players to jump into beta right away. Servers that run on beta are those that mainly follow F-18C development closely. If he then decides to stay on a server which will update to a new beta version, he can switch very easily without downloading the game again anyway.

To be honest I would rather have Hind before F-16 but it looks like it will be the other way around. :(

The MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming X TRIO looks like one of the best you can get (if you want to keep the original cooling solution). It's well balanced card with silent fan design.

Yes they are working on all of the mentioned stuff. It was stated several times. They have even listed job opportunities for developers that will work mainly on these features.

What have you done that real pilots can't or don't Do?
Jumbik replied to FlankerMan's topic in Chit-Chat
Ignore ATC, load up everything, take of from ramp, use flare above airfield, get into unecessary danger, destroy 1/10th of what I planned to, use afterburner the whole way back at low altitudes over cities, damage gear when landing, drift at the end of the runway ... You know, all the stuff you would get fired for and into a jail. :D -
You can add features, not only modules. Lure in more people by polishing everything. Make it more accessible. Build huge multiplayer scenarios. Work on tech that will allow to connect maps together. Sell content for the aircrafts, like whole war scenarios like Vietnam etc. There is TON of things to add.

F-16 is going to be a milestone. There is huge community around Falcon sim from past which is still going because of few reason, which are being worked on in DCS too. If ED can finish the dynamic campaign for the F-16C in time, then include in-game voice comms along with it, the whole community will probably switch to DCS. Huge potential for new consumers.

The lenses make it look more natural, actually VR set has higher vertical resolution on each eye to make it look natural. I suppose someone with VR set could comment on this. I'm only telling what I've heard about it. :)
-
It's not really about the FPS, its more about natural FoV in VR head set and the fact that each eye has it's own little monitor. People with VR are glad when they can reach 75 fps. It's very taxing for the system.

Reading manual is not exactly required if you have the training missions available and somebody on Discord or Team speak to fill in the missing parts. But without any attempt to try to learn at least the basics, you are destined to fail. I was reading manuals on my way to work for example and it helped a lot. Doing one training mission a week which takes max. 30 minutes helps a ton too.
-
Yes, the feeling changes dramatically when you are trying to do some "work" along with the flying. :D
-
The perception of speed is very much tied to setup of FoV, lack of blur and the nature how humans perceive it from looking at 2D screen. Try a high speed flight at low altitude in some bigger city. Vegas or Dubai are good for this. The sheer amount of buildings there will give you better feel for your speed. But if you want to experience it in better way, try a VR set, the sensation of movement there is at completely different level.

I have similar problem, but did not find any solution. It was happening on my previous nvidia gf and now current amd gf. My problem is that until I press alt+enter I have half the FPS than I have after I press it. Maybe It has something to do with the fact that I have 3 monitors but use only one for the game, I dunno.

Good. The wait si coming to an end. :)

Hello, yesterday I have noticed that the A-10C Cold start training mission is not working properly. I cannot continue the training as pressing "spacebar" does nothing. I cannot progress the mission after the first introductory speech. I've tried the F-18C Cold start one and that is working fine. I'm on the latest Open Beta version.

Radeon VII, what do you guys think ?
Jumbik replied to BitMaster's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I suppose "nobelieve" would be able to answer this question by testing the game in multiplayer few times. He is already playing in 4K.
