Absolutely agree. Can't wait for creative chopper missions to start popping up for Las Vegas. Suburban medevac! Reporter helicopter! Emergency cargo! Seriously though, NTTR is incredible. I didn't think such visuals and environment was possible.

Can't please 'em all! I personally love NTTR. It's a wonderful contrast to what we already had.

Just adding my support that this is a critical feature to me and very exciting. The Gazelle seems so perfect for multicrew. This could be the first module where coop play is really necessary for real combat effectiveness. And it's on a nice scale-- I imagine you'd feel like quite the team taking out a few tanks in a Gazelle together. The video preview from Matt Wagner was fantastic btw-- things are really shaping up!

I would personally prefer they pick a variant and model it. If the model didn't have tv map, I would prefer no tv map. And as someone who goes to DCS World for accuracy, I really don't want an F12 map export on the screen. If the devs are going to implement the map system, I would like it to work as it really does, warts and all. Further, call me impatient, but I would far prefer we get a release of a the Cold War variant without a tv map soon and maybe get a variant that has it later than have the whole thing delayed.

I've noticed the search controls interface is extremely laggy. It's super useful, but it gets so behind that it misses keyboard input. I wind up having to type each letter spaced out by like a couple of seconds.

Bummer. Been finding myself with less and less time to do long missions, which has more or less nix'd flying the A-10c in multi in favor of the Mig-21bis or heli's. Oh well, thanks for the reply!

I was wondering if it is possible to pause and continue a multiplayer co-op mission so as to play one mission over multiple days IRL? I would prefer to allow the client to leave the server and reconnect the next day, but I am perfectly happy leaving the game up and paused on the server. In single player, you can back out of an aircraft and then use Alt-J "Jump into selected Aircraft" to get back into the aircraft you've left. Unfortunately, when I back out of an aircraft in multi, it seems as though that aircraft disappears. Is there any way to allow a client to disconnect from the server and get back into their spot with the same aircraft in the same condition and location once they reconnect? Thanks!

This feels real though in a way other news items about 1.5/2.0 haven't. No offense intended to ED of course, clearly they've been working on it like crazy, this just seems like a very good sign. Even if we don't get it today or tomorrow, I do believe we're finally closing in on the runway (sorry). Also I've never seen so many flight sim nerds logged into one place at one time in my life... :pilotfly:

Pauseable server So, I just noticed this line from the changelog: So, does this mean we're getting dedicated servers with 1.5? Otherwise it doesn't make much sense. Do they have to be launched from a normal DCS install? I was hoping for something more... streamlined, but I'll take what I can get. I was also wondering if this means we could leave a mission midflight, have the server pause, and rejoin into your plane later? I've never tried it, can you jump back into the airplane you were in when you left if it hasn't crashed? Because boy I'd love to span a flight with a friend out over a few days pausing the server every night. I can dream I suppose :)

Feedback and General Questions for Video Updates
copypaper replied to Groove's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
That was great. I really like the Q&A and candid discussion during the stream. This kind of thing makes the wait for DCS World 2 seem far more bearable. I hope you will continue to do them. -
DCS: Roadmap (unofficial - NO DISCUSSION HERE)
copypaper replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in DCS 2.9
Not sure if this is too minor for the roadmap, but also from the stream, DCS World 2 will have a "model visibility" option under graphics in options that allows for some kind of unit scaling. Options are "off," "normal," "enlarged." Second, I just wanted to mention that I really appreciate this unofficial roadmap. It is a great service and as someone who often can't keep up with every little update, I've found it to be an invaluable resource. -
Podcast Oh hell yes! I have long been waiting for a DCS World podcast. Frankly, I would have been very excited to find something half as good as this. Fantastic job, and keep them coming! P.S. any chance you'll consider doing mailbag? Given the wealth of DCS and A-10C knowledge you all have, I'm sure listeners would have plenty to ask if given the chance! Thanks, Copy Paper

Thanks! I think that's basically what we're doing and learning, but it's good to hear that we're on the right track. We've transitioned to having labels off recently, so some of it might just be growing pains.

Getting shot by tanks I'm copypaper. I actually mostly fly A-10C and Mi-8, although I do sometimes fly the Black Shark. But I fly with a friend who flies either A-10C or Black Shark when I'm in the Mi-8. We do Medevac missions, and she clears the way with the Black Shark. I'm actually newer than she is to flying, but my question is something that's happening when we fly coop. The most common thing that shoots her down is very surprising to me-- tanks. Like, a full tank round. I've seen it happen while she's maneuvering, darting around, etc... Boom, helicopter explodes, registers as a main tank round from an Abrams. Probably five times in the 15 or so times we've played medevac missions? Is there a trick to avoiding tank rounds? Is there something we're doing to provoke them? I've gone back and looked at tacview and track files (when they work) and the shots the tanks make seem just really really unlikely. It's happening less lately because I think she's been giving them more distance, but yeah, any thoughts? Thanks! :helpsmilie: Copy Paper
