Even the RL MiG-21 manual suggests to use the autopilot for long distance level flying.

The real-world MiG-21 flight manual states that the throttle should be moved slowly from idle to military power in not less than 2 sec., so I guess that's what's animated in "our" cockpit.

If you just want to hop from one RSBN station to another, and then to another, this is quite easy and covered by some tuturials on YT. But if you want to navigate only by waypoints 'in the middle of nowhere' you have to get yourself a map, place your waypoints, measure the correct headings and distances (navigation ruler!!) and calculate flying time. Those were the days :D

Just got feedback from a former GDR (East Germany) MiG-21 pilot, and he stated that you could NOT turn just by using the rudder pedals. Even at high taxiing speed you always had to apply the breaks to turn. Another interesting aspect he mentioned is that you could adjust braking power (like on a bike) by pulling the lever just a bit. In game you only can "brake" or "not brake".

Did you release the throttle before trying to move it?

Niemand ist zu irgendetwas gezwungen, aber bei Falcon krieg ich jedesmal leichte Augenkrebs-Symptome... und ich mag die Ami-Flieger jetzt nicht so sehr... bin da anscheinend etwas zu N24-USAF-Hurrapatriotismus-"Doku"-geschädigt ;) ist aber nur meine persönliche Ansicht. Also warte ich weiter auf die MiG :thumbup:

Ist vielleicht etwas OT, aber ich muss mich jetzt direkt mal über diese Aussage etwas echauffieren ;) Ich finde, solche Aussagen klingen immer etwas nach "diese Idioten, die nur FC3 fliegen, die können oder wollen halt nix besseres, oder sind schlicht und einfach zu doof dazu". ^^ Also ich für meinen Teil fliege nur FC3 - aber nur, weil es auf dem ach-so-tollen DCS-Niveau nix gescheites gibt! Ich habe nunmal keine Lust auf eine arschlahme A-10, auf eine uralte Mustang aus Großvaters Zeiten oder auf irgendwelche Hubschrauber. Ich will Fighter fliegen! Und wenn es beispielsweise die Su-27 oder Su-33 auf DCS-Niveau geben WÜRDE, dann wäre ich der allererste, der sein Geld dafür ausgibt!! Deshalb warte ich auch sehnsüchtigst auf die MiG-21, weil ich dann meine eigentlichen Interessen auch mal ausleben kann und eben nicht mehr auf FC3-Niveau herumdümpeln muss. Ich wollte es also nur mal gesagt haben, und da bin ich (denke ich) auch nicht der einzige - es gibt Leute, die fliegen FC3, weil sie es (noch) müssen, nicht weil sie es wollen (und weil Falcon BMS einfach keine Alternative ist).
