  1. +1  The same goes for the MiG-21. By the way, we really need a full fidelity DCS: MiG-29 :music_whistling:
  2. There's no such thing as a nosewheel lock in the MiG-21. There is a nosewheel brake which can be turned on and off though. Edit: Art-J was faster :)
  3. I think that's the only solution to be "shaken by the deep bass of the choppers mighty engine" ;)
  4. "Cold start" is used for venting excess fuel from the engine after a false start. The engine gets started "dry" without injecting fuel then.
  5. Prowler said their choice was "unavailable", so my hopeful guess would be that somebody is already working on it. Because - being one of the most iconic soviet fighters the MiG-23 is a must ;) Only if the wings were stuck in another position than 16° which is necessary for starting and landing; I guess in 45° and 72° the wings didn't generate enough lift for landing at a safe (low) speed, so the instructions recommended to bail out.
  6. Why do we have to press "J"? Can't this behaviour be simulated properly as it is in the real thing?
  7. Sounds and looks fantastic! Will the brake lever function as an axis or as a trigger when combined with your base? May I ask where you are based? Russia? Couldn't find any info about it on your website. Thanks! :)
  8. But there's PRMG ;)
  9. From US-based sources I guess :music_whistling: Thanks for clarifying this. Former GDR pilots also talk about the MiG-23ML as "a whole new quality" and the "first real and complete soviet fighter plane" especially compared to the MiG-23MF and MiG-21 series.
  10. True. I love the Bis. But the silence from LNS about the MiG sometimes looks like "we don't give a damn" to me. And this is also the reason the F-14 won't be a day 1 purchase for me anymore....you know... the burnt child dreads the fire.
  11. I don't know if you've ever been in a hair-raising dogfight in the MiG-21, but the workload of switching between the weapon stations, switching between IR/SAR (which is also a "priority switch" IRL), flying your plane, keeping your enemy in sight, and watching your energy status is just ridiculous. And if they call it a simulation, they should in fact simulate the real plane. I would suggest to first finish a module and all its systems, before starting some Viggens and Tomcats and whatnot, but that's just my two cents.
  12. Yeah this just made my day  Good luck guys!!
  13. Good luck gentlemen! Day 1 purchase(s) for me :)
  14. I deserve it because it would make a great christmas present to my brother, who's so keen to start flying but can't afford quality gear yet.
  15. The question is: Is it like that in the real thing, too? ;)
  16. Hi Cobra, I know you guys have a lot of work to do right now... but....do you plan to implement the weapons selector as a priority selector like IRL some day?
  17. Excellent! Thank you!!
  18. Very helpful answer!
  19. +1 I'm sitting in the cockpit all the time, so what's the point in creating that moving pilot in the external view?
  20. That would help, but you really don't have to do that for one single person :) Thanks for that excellent support! Edit: The kneeboard has everything I need, don't worry about that. I just don't like to flip dozens of pages around during the flight (I have some custom kneeboard pages with radio channels, approach directions, pin-up girls, bla bla bla); so I make notes to have everything I need at one glance.
  21. Usually I make some notes (radio channels, headings, NDB frequencies,...) which may take 5-6 min; starting the L-39 (incl. checking the temps, pressures and warning lights + dialing the NDB frequencies) takes me about 10 min and taxiing also takes some minutes. I know, for me these missions are also just training, and I shouldn't care about the time. But somehow it really grinds my gears when I'm late (just like in real life) :D
  22. Hi Emolina, thanks for your hard work and these excellent missions. I've flown number 1-4 so far. My problem is, since the mission briefing doesn't tell you anything about the upcoming flight, you have to start the mission itself, then look onto your kneeboard, and then start preparing your flight. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm finished with preparing the flight and having my aircraft spooled up and ready, some 20 minutes are gone and my score will be 0/100 because I'm just too late for take-off ;) Maybe (in future projects) you could add "precise" mission briefings, so one could prepare the flight before actually hopping into the cockpit? Just a suggestion though :)
  23. Yeah, I guess all sliders / rotaries on the X52 are not THAT precise. I had the MiG-21 wingspan knob assigned to the big rotary on the throttle and the knob was shivering like a leaf all the time. For the thumb slider I created three zones and assigned the speedbrake (in/out) to them, as it's in almost the same place in the real plane. I use the keyboard for zooming.
  24. I don't think there is a mod. The real GDR MiGs were labeled in Russian - if you're looking for realism.
