So i was flying on multiplayer, and i tuned in on the AWACS's frequency only to be able to listen to the AWACS but not be able to contact AWACS??? am i missing something???

I've tried everything i could think of, jettison the canopy, turn off Canopy ventilation, and a few other things but my pilot seems to be unable to get hypoxia, and I'm flying at 37,000 ft.
