59th Ravens HARRIER EVENT ( The Jack Jackson Exercise)
Stuge replied to =DECOY='s topic in Tournaments & Events
Thx works now!! And thanks alot for setting the bombs nicely.. sorry to be such a pain... but I'd still hope for those rocket pods to be on innermost pylons for less spread if you have time :) :) :) -

Hmm, I just tried version C of the mission, still don't see Su-33s. If you can't add them to the blue side then easiest will be to add them to the red side as Russian. -

Also, I would very much prefer to have the Fab-250 bombs mounted on the Su-33 fuselage centerline (hardpoints 6 and 7) if at all possible! -

Su-33 is missing from the mission, make sure it's there for the event! :)))) -
Umm.. invitees only make up a small part of the roster, so absolutely no grinding is required to participate! To the organizers I have a special request: should me and Razer face off 1v1, I would prefer this match be hosted on Razer's machine. I feel every millisecond of ping will count :D

Hey Flanks, yes fuel dump is allowed and works... regardless the flanker now hits the merge a little too heavy imho! (cant believe i ever used that word)
-
I'm just afraid they'll run out of structural integrity faster than fuel... one elegant solution that comes to mind would be to reduce all aircrafts' burn time to 4 min! Also parameters for burn time that I used before was max performance sustained turn at sea level (0-1000ft altitude), so if you're using different parameters u might have different fuel levels too..
-
I noticed you guys increased flankers' fuel load from previous setup now flankers have ~5 tons of fuel which I consider too heavy for dogfighting... i think it's good to keep in mind that especially with the new fuel settings the m2000c completely outperforms Su-27 in all flight performance aspects both turn and kinematic, this also has to do with the M2000C being in an extremely light setup, and perhaps fuel consumption not being reflected by airspeed but by altitude only (according to the info i have)... a friendly suggestion would be to make the flankers just a wee bit lighter just to give them a chance in this match-up :)

Signing up 104th_Stuge (myself) for 1v1 and for 2v2 me and SF_Razer will come defend our title :) Airframe selection in the form is a bit misleading as i will fly variable airframes :) :) :) P.S. rules and format look good! P.P.S. make sure the Mirages are carrying enough flares! The default 16 is hardly desirable for a heatseeker rich environment :))))

Here's a good example of how the de-sync is visible with missiles.. the same video has other spots where the problem can also be seen. Might post something more detailed to convince those who think the current netcode is ok :)

Hi, this feedback from an oldschool Lock On veteran... The new netcode was implemented relatively recently, and while it was successful in reducing "jumpiness" of aircraft in multiplayer due to connection issues, thus making BVR slightly better in a laggy environment, it seems to completely ruin close combat and formation flying. There are serious, for me gamebreaking issues in multiplayer currently such as: -Jerky aircraft movement in pitch, resulting in an awful formation flight and close combat experience. -In gun battles, visible aircraft attitudes and bullet trajectories are "off" by some degree. This means you get hit by "impossible" shots and bullets that should have missed, making accurate reading of enemy's aspect, when he's going to shoot, and by extension energy state etc impossible. For a hardcore fanatic like me this is truly devastating! I believe the problem also extends to visible missile behavior, even though this is less relevant. -Delay and weird filtering in all visible aircraft reactions by other players. The "fine" aspects of maneuvering are not translated through the netcode. -Poor viewing experiences for any viewing of combat from external views, and for streaming (because events are easily out of sync if there is any hard maneuvering or gun usage involved) All this means that the online combat experience is significantly downgraded in quality and finesse. I would be very happy to be given an option to go back to the way it was before. As a reference, one can use this video to see how it was before - while viewing the fight every single bullet hits where it is supposed to hit, and the damage is seen accordingly. Also, aircraft behavior is smooth and all fine control inputs by pilots are visible. And another example of the same type, 2016.

Sorry for not answering the ts message, I was ingame. Using the ingame chat, or hopping into my ts channel to say what's on your mind would have solved this issue easily! Slotswise, I believe I made the right call for allowing a few extras, that way everyone got to fly and the numbers were close to what was originally intended (2:1) Challengerswise.. I've seen many good performances from challengers in the past, and aggressors have been beaten before, so I don't see a problem here. Organization levels will fluctuate, also depending on how ppl have time. Next red flag is planned to take place again in one month so feel free to organize and practice!! As for GCI... we are looking into the subject to make it better ;)

Thank you everyone for the excellent turnout and also the gentlemanship that was demonstrated by everyone!! The event went mostly without problems, but I'll do my best to iron out the rest of the problems for the next time!!! Also possibly make the briefing earlier, perhaps 30 minutes before the scheduled start, to eliminate the start delay. Also a great thank you 51st and SF squadrons, the event would definitely be less without you guys.

I'm in ofcourse, aggressor F15 ;)
