  1. I'd really enjoy the things that are here with a Normandy map... :)
  2. Good info all, many thanks!
  3. Good stuff guys... very helpful videos!
  4. Can't wait for this one!
  5. You need more options in this poll... I don't believe any of them, and of course the film makers and to some extent the pilots are going to big themselves and their sides up... both parties think they are right.
  6. Whirlwind has always been a favourite of mine, but you can't have a Normandy scenario without the Tiffy... I mean, come on chaps!
  7. Had both engines fail in a Lynx once during NI training... we managed to slam into the ground and slide to a stop on the skids... very enlightening! (I wasn't flying it by the way) Within an hour they had sent another one and we were then told to continue... can't say I wanted to get in it though :)
  8. If a set mission doesn't tick all the boxes so what? As stated that happens in real life. Your mission success or lack of it should simply be logged in your pilots log book... then you have the option to move on with the next day in the war, or, if you aren't satisfied with your results you can fly the mission again... It would be great to have a 'no instant mission success' button, so that we all have a choice on how we fly our own method of enjoying the game.
  9. Jesus, I thought the bleedin patch was out! :(
  10. Good stuff!, was exciting just listening to it all happening...
  11. Used to fly light aircraft for about 3 years, but got to the stage where I couldn't fly and pay all of my bills at the same time :( Reality kicked in and something had to go, my flying or my house etc... So now I get my fix by simming.
  12. Old chubby cheeks looks happy!
  13. Ah well, at least I can disappear off around the world with work for a couple of months and come back knowing I've missed nothing :)
  14. When EDGE becomes active, am I reading this right, will the existing map still be accessible or will we only have the new EDGE map? Sorry if it's a dumb question, but not sure if the Georgian map will be able to be rendered with the new build?
  15. Glad both pilot and skydiver are ok!
  16. Ok, a 'chit' is slang for a written note, usually something official. For example ''You need a chit for that'' or ''if you are taking time off you need a 'sick chit' ''
  17. I work with the Russians and Ukrainians quite a bit when I'm deployed with my team. People often think that the eastern block types are a bit reserved and surly as they don't communicate much with the English teams on board ship. But as has already been suggested, this is because they are a little uncomfortable with making mistakes when talking and using the English language. I've found them to be likeable and pleasant types on the whole and enjoy being on their vessels. Anyway, that's real life, but I don't believe the English speaking forums are being 'punished' in anyway... that would be counter productive for the developers as they need to sell us English speakers their products.
  18. Brilliant info Lizzard! :)
  19. Good stuff! :)
  20. PM sent!
  21. All airborne soldiers are my brothers... Keep my place warm in Valhalla Wild Bill, you were one of the first to create the airborne brotherhood!
  22. Don't go all politically correct for gods sake... I've taught women soldiers alongside their male counterparts, preparing them for operations in the Afghan and Iraq, and the last thing they needed was to be covered in cotton wool. I treated them exactly the same as the guys, took the piss out of them the same as the guys... they are no different to any of the guys, and are made of stern stuff in most cases... exactly the same as the guys. If there are any women on here then they are free to come and hammer the blokes down to size if they feel we need it :)
  23. I would have thought women would be all over DCS... They should be naturals at smoothly operating a joystick?
